Post-run strides are key to making you a faster, more efficient runner.
The good news? You only need to carve out about 10 minutes a week in order to get the benefits.
Check out the why, when, and how of including strides in your training.
Here is the link to the Running Times article that I mention in the video:

67 yr. old long time runner , 42 years and just under 80K lifetime miles run. Just found you...thanks for all your contributions of offering valuable training advice.
Thanks for the kind words, Dave -- glad that you are enjoying the videos!
I've been faithfully doing strides once a week for a few years. This morning in the final stretch of a 4-mile race, I unlocked a higher gear to enjoy a strong finishing kick. That was a fun way to finish a race - Thanks Carl!
That's fantastic, Frank! Great job and thanks for sharing!
Super helpful. Thank you!
Useful information thanq
Instantly subbed. How come I am able to watch this for free. Awesome vid coach.
Great video!!
Totally underwatched video!
I have our XC kids run strides after easy summer runs as it better prepares them for the harder fall workouts. Besides, who wants to run in one gear all the time?
Absolutely a great time to do it!
Great video, but I have one question: should I focus on cadence during my normal runs, or just what feels natural and thrust that the cadence will go up with my stride workouts
I would go with what feels natural and use the drills, strides, etc. to work on increasing cadence "organically" rather than trying to force it. Glad you liked the video!
Boa tarde!
O que acha de vim conhecer o Método Vida Plena? Aposto que não vai se arrepender! 💙
How long before you start to see the effects of strides?
Great question! Pretty quickly -- since you're not building fitness it's a quicker process than a lot of things with running. I think realistically you can expect to see improvements in efficiency in just a few weeks of doing them consistently.
