Ty for the tips, I didn't know that s/d #2 could be casted in the middle of wells. There are a lot of different and cool interactions in this build !
Thank you for explaining the combos and great to know about the shroud leaps in pistol 5 to save initiative! It turns out i was doing the opening combo right, but i think my ping of 300 is what made unreliable.
Yes a lot of thief combos needs chaining of skills in short windows of opportunity as well which makes it hard with ping

Im playing the build basically since you released it, many asked me for the build but give up quick because of the complexity of the playstyle. Im also bad at explaining so from now on ill just send them this vid.😂😄
Nice guide though, i also hope we get some buffs/reworks soon. I like the build and would definitely keep playing it
Specter is extremely complex with the amount of tools you do have, lots of small tricks. Haha yes I have gotten asked about making a guide for so long and thought oh well let's just make something at least. I have heard some birds chirp about Specter getting back the lost initiative so we have 15 and also the damage reduction (-33% dmg taken) in shroud, lets see if it comes true!

I've got no idea if this build is viable at all today but the playstyle sounds so nice that I'm just going to try it!
It actually recieved some decent qol stuff including a revert nerf in pvp so works pretty good in pvp currently. In wvw its very very solid however

Its obv a bit weaker than ascended, i think u got no infusions either right? Should still be ok
@@Sindrener ya, no infu. Missing legendary armor only in medium but probably I have enough currencies somewhere to get ascended 🤔 cheers bud

4:30 it places my Sword2 in the elite circle so i cant get back when i do the rotation
Thats because some spots are non port spots sadly :) try some other golems that are not on something like that

What would you switch around if wanting to run it in a zerg setting? Or would vault daredevil just be better to run at that point?
Specter doesnt rly do good dmg compared to staff drd but ur defo less squishy. Id maybe consider different rune if i was gonna zerg, maybe durability? Probably swap air for something else, perhaps energy sigil

I play with 30-40~ ping. I'm mainly a sPVP player but I don't play very actively anymore, perhaps some more once balance patch comes in february if its any interesting for Specter
@@Sindrener hum...i am having a hardy time trying to do the combos, my ping is 190
I have mostly issues with elite with high ping, but yeah it requires some practice but its defo not optimal for high ping sadly.

The other traits are so badly nerfed its not worth using anymore, all 3 of the first traits are pretty much irrelevant hehe
in WvW, what would be the cons of running Well of Gloom instead of Withdraw, aside from instant cast, removing some condis + evade? It seems like you'd get a lot from the extra teleport + quickness
Longer cd of heal, lots of extra cleanse gone (torment,crip,chill,immob) and long cast. Do u really want to cast ur heal to get 2s of quickness? Doesnt seem worth. U can also withdraw out of harb grav well
The only really cool thing for well heal is the potential to juke with. If you chexk the option retarget you can cast it for example infront and animation will show but u can move mouse behind/side thats where u teleport, also resistance will always be nice. But still imo i prefer withdraw
Really enjoying this build. I have anywhere from 220-300 ping. I'm not a thief main, but most combos are consistently executable except Shroud 5 -> d/p 5. Although the delay does leave you open to attack.
Any tips on brawling with sword or dagger mainhand?
The problem with using S/D or D/P as damage is the lack of initiative, most of the skills have a high cost which ends up with you being out of initiative = bad. The main combo I'd use is S/D #5 and then #1 in the back for the daze. You can check my clips from when i roam on specter where i dont use most of the weapon skills.

What food & utility would you usually run with this?
I use cele food and cele stacking sigil. Utility sharpening stone/fruitcake thingy

Well the same stats as i run there just put chrono relic for quickness on wells then u pick rune depending on ur taste, i havent decided personally cus i havent played any wvw. Many interesting runes tho. Holosmith/vamp/spellbreaker/scholar/deadeye depends on what u want yeah

Having quickness on wells as relic is huge imo, gives us so much possibility in changing stuff around. Can drop some mara for dragon stats if u run deadeye run for example, or even valk. Or you just go flat big HP with vamp. I think u can swap around depending on matchups too!
@@Sindrener tried surging runes last night with chrono relic w/ everything else the same and it worked nicely. Little less crit because of the loss of precision on surging rune for getting around the 25% movement speed is nice especially in wvw. Really appreciate some of your suggestions to. Have legendary armor so switching is easy for me. Thanks for all your suggestions. Really enjoying Spectre
I’m getting over 4 secs resistance on all three of my wells with the added 15% boon duration which is nice and a sec on pretty much all my other boons which I think is fair trade off for less precision

Hey! Can you compare marauder with dragon stats? any chronomancer rune alternative? (pack?) Nice tips, i want more of that :)
You can do dragon but you dont crit cap then. If u dont like chrono u can try all from scholar/pack/divinity(if u do go div then u can drop some mara for berserker pieces)

Ya just tried it many times, shroud2 to BP doesn't execute fast enough for stealth to work..../sad but thanks for the tip.
Yeah I remember even I had problems with like 180~ ping back when S/D core was meta to just sword2->steal (doing it really quickly) it would end up proccing the steal before the sw2 port

I would swap to full berserker gear and power infusions. Drop shadowstep as utility and use haste
