Really enjoyed this video with Donavan!!! These two families are raising their kids right! This reminds me of my growing up years, my Dad taught me how to hunt and fish, the fields and lakes were our grocery store.

When it gets cold enough down there, iguanas slow down and basically fall out of the trees. You can walk around and just pick them up.
How much fun was that, Houston! What an adventure you had. Florida is so beautiful…crab fishing and the experiences you encountered were life changing and something to be grateful for.

when I was a child I used to go lobster trapping with my dad off the coast of California. It was dark when we would pull the traps up. I heard a big movement in the trap so I knew we had the monster in the trap. My dad made me wait while he flashed a light in the trap. Well, it wasn't a lobster it was a big old eel with its mouth wide open just waiting for me.

What a fun trip. When I lived in my house here in Florida before I became a widow & moved to a condo, I had coconut palm trees in my yard. We used to drink the clear juice from the coconuts. Just had to be careful of falling coconuts! Looks like Houston really enjoyed everything...

Fun video… I still get the feeling that Houston really doesn’t want to get dirty. What is really funny is that we’ve got videos here in San Diego of iguana’s falling out of the trees because of the cold. Oh, how terrible is that. The local news says nothing about them being invasive. Thanks for sharing and the strong crab claws looked yummy!

Nice to see the kids trying different things. Wonderful opportunity for the family outing. Growing up, our Dad used to tell us the 'milk' in the coconuts was 'monkey pee' LOL. Grandpa would let us eat from the crab claws right in the boat just after we hauled in the trap.

I once went loitering in maine with an 86 yr old native mainer that was an uncle of a family friend. He started at 16 with his grandfather then bought his own boat at 22 and was so experienced he could pick the lobster out of the pot and tell if it was over a pound or not. He had a svake but never hard it so we asked him to speculate the weight of the lobster then we weighed it. ( I was 15 at the time and my friends were 14 and 17) he was within 1 oz over time. Blew my mind and was a great experience.

When I was in high school, our snack(on our way home from the bus stop) was to stop at the general store and buy a coconut.

I learned how to climb coconut trees in Africa. We learned how to open the coconuts using rocks and hands. My lesson learned to Huston...DON'T slide down the tree, especially in shorts...lol
That was kool about the coconuts. I am not a seafood person, but that was kool how you harvested the claw without killing the crab.

Houston is now introduced to, two of nature's laxatives. Eat and drink too much coconut and you'll be on the toilet. Craps you can more of, but they can give you the runs. The snow crabs are excellent. So cool when you go to different regions of the country. And there's some type of food that's unique to that area. When in Tucson, AZ I had buffalo meat and it was unbelievably good. So tasty and tender. You cut the meat with a butter knife. Thank goodness for the internet, because now you have these foods delivered right to your door step.
