The place where Luke Thompson is comparing the current time to the regency ear and how similar the humans are, irrespective of the time period they’re in, feels so genuine! Also, when Claudia Jessie is ranting about how difficult it is to get to know someone and gel in with them, oh my God it was so relatable that its scary! Maybe its a Scorpio thing as she’s also a Scorpio.

    What Claudia said at 7:45
    About the space
And about learning and sharing your crap with the new person! 😂
    This is so true

I love how everyone is saying that the regency time period had its own charm and it is in some ways romantic and explaining like at that time things moved a little slow, so in a way you could savour those moments better. Then comes Jonathan straight up saying its a nightmare 😂😂
P.s. Of course for any LGBTQ member, it would have been a nightmare living in that time especially being a member of the ton.

regarding the p.s. yeah i think that it was actually shown in the show with a side character, an artist named henry granville. he had a relationship with another man but it was secret and he was married to his wife to keep up the charade but they both had an understanding that they were not in love in that way and that henry wanted to be with a man but they still had a happy marriage because it was more of an arrangement to keep their freedoms. and he made this speech about how it takes courage to like outside societies expectations. and i think that it showed what you were saying and what Jonathan was saying.

As an Indian living in India, who witnessed some fucked up marriages and renounced marriage because of it, I much prefer a marriage that is not duty-bound to the couple’s family. It is a nightmare. It destroys you and your children and perpetuates a circle of violence borne from the frustration of duty to family.

It is not about historical accuracy. But about not breaking the immersion.
