It's funny seeing Damon being the 'young buck' lol
Just coming down to say almost exactly that
Yup! "Thank you sir!" 😂
I know, and the episode where mike Jr is what 12!! Memory lane some of these episodes 😊
Came here to comment this!
wow I had to search around to find Damon - he is there at 38.07 mins. Thanks for noticing.
Mike accidentally going backwards through drywall might be the best thing I've ever seen.
I can get why the others are laughing 😂
Damon's first introduction. How super fun.
I love mike and his crew ,
I just wish that he could come to my home and fix mine
Finally, an episode i have not seen!
Anytime a contractor calls a customer "fussy", stop.
Wow, Damon's introduction, then later becomes boss of the crew. Amazing...
Miss watching the 'old crew's. They were great! Benny was hilarious!
Introducing Damon...
This excellent Holmes video shows proof enough for that so called contractor to be taken to court and charged with criminal negligence and fined and sent to jail.
Thank You for sharing these videos!
I would like to know if any of these customers sued the contractors especially considering they have proof on video of the shabby workmanship that they paid for.
Yes, I know of one who did and won
Awesome, cause I wondered myself. If Mike Holmes is on the job, they are screwed!
At least I hope so!
i think the sparky collected off cuts from skips , and im not joking either , we don't allow junctions outside of proscribed termination methods and equipment in the UK there are strict rules and IF you put one in you tend to take pictures of the junction and where it is and attach that to the test sheet with measurements of how to locate , so effectively not having hidden junctions and are never used except in extreme circumstances because its more trouble then its worth
There is no way a licensed Electrician, or even a journeyman did this wiring job.
It's funny how my father as a retired plumber seriously didn't like PEX in the beginning, but the more you used it the more he saw it was better than copper.
I built my final home in 2008-2012, and if I had any idea that Pex was a thing that's all I would have used. I used CVPC instead.
Due to multiple guests visiting our little mountain chalet, I decided to build a bunkhouse. I used Pex exclusively throughout.
What a great product........................
oohh one i haven't seen yet yipee
dang...never heard Mike curse this much. he must really be HOT on this job.
Damon's first episode?
It was Damon's 1st episode.
I think in all these early shows that this was the first time I saw Des laugh when Mike went through the wall. Damon's first job. I wonder if he signed the wall.
The problem with contractors that do this is that they don't understand that people work hard for what they've got, because they themselves don't. They just rip people off.
Tape over ac duct holes good start but where is sealant. If not 2 to 5 yrs tapes comes loose.
glad that shawn is back
love you mike
It Mike Holmes - you know at the start the whole thing is coming down.
Never met a basement he didn’t gut…
US electrical contractor, you can always trace back to a junction point,
I wonder if that Olivia's friend was sorry they recommended that sketchy guy to ruining her basement?
run damon run lmao sorry had to
she must be afraid of the neighborhood
.. she has an alarm on the door
This must be an older episode cause they're not using the blue 2x4s
It's from 2004.
@@johnhenryNC NC here too, j'ville, yeah I realized that when they brought the new guy in and it was Damon 😆
@@princenaz23 Greetings fellow North Carolinian. I live up here in the triad near Winston-Salem. 👍
Don't pay up front only in increments as job progress it you don't like the work tell you not paying for crap work 😂
I didn't think that I liked the color of the walls when they started, but when they got done I wanted th lick the walls they look delicious. 😅
If you don't know anything of home improvement hire a contractor to inspect the job processes
Must be an old episode. Using nails instead of screws for the drywall.
I said the same to myself. I can see it's old but still.... NAILING in drywall ? Actually a pretty hard thing to do, 1 mishap and you've got a hole.
Curry Goat!!!!! where and when? Damon just started ...That was weird.
Say, Mike: God Himself, did not "damn" the "breaker" you mentioned.
Sometimes yu get what you pay for. There are still scammers out there that will take your money and not deliver. This project is one example of that.
I just realized this was an old video. Not because of who was working in the way everyone looked. Down in the basement no blue wood. Blue wood should always be used in the basement plus spray foaming. This Way nothing ever molds and the wood never reacts to moisture.
there home cause the baby's daddies are out of the pic...
$30K R U SERIOUS MIKE ? A basement should cost at minimum $50K but really should be $100K for the basement
This show is over 20 years old, and also in Canada. Prices should not be assumed to be possible today.
Always presume costs in videos are out of date without further investigation
This was 20+ years ago. 30k was a lot back then
you gota add the repairs the wiring the electrical the structure all that was fucked up by the old contracter that isnt cheap plus the new materials they had to buy
30 years ago, I could buy a sheet of dry-wall for $4 Can. 20 years ago, it was more like $8 Can. Prices have gone up a lot!
Also price of labor and even materials can be different depending on location. Theres also the difference between what these jobs would cost wholesale and what it costs the show, i dont think mikes team is paid the going rate and there is also the possibility of companies donating time and materials.
