  • Buy the best budget 3D Printer of 2023 here: bit.ly/3oKdmpq (affiliate link) Here are some 3D Print TimeLapses / Octolapses off the Hictop D3 Hero as well as some of my thoughts on the machine. A 3d printer with two independant direct drive extruders and a large print volume! This printer has earned a permanent spot on my workbench due to its ability to print flexible materials with great results and multicolor prints with only the need for an ooze shield and not a purge tower.

    Nice video.
I have also a 3D-printer with dual extruder.
In the Gcode, there is mostly one command for the toolchange. I replace this command by the same command plus some others to
park the extruders on a place where towers will be build,
heat up the next extruder to 190,
cool down the last extruder to 200 and wait for that,
    shut off the last extruder,
heat next extruder to 240, wait for that and then go on with printing.
In the STL-files, I add the towers (cilinders 1 cm across), height depends on the last layer with dual colours.

I have bought a Hictop D3 Hero, actually this video convinced me this was the right dual nozzle printer for me.
I have printed the box and the panda with an ooze shield, sliced in Cura 4.1.
I have added a brim, but in my prints the brim both attaches to the ooze shield as well as the printed model. In your video it looks like the brim only attaches to the shield, which I would prefer.
Have you used Cura or another slicer?
If it is Cura, how do I avoid the brim attaches to the model?
