    Wonderful video (again). Thanx!
    I was wondering about the Jitterbug for quiet some time already. Thanx for the helpful information.
    Keep up the good work! Tim

    Question ! I already have AQ Cinnamon usb to usb B cable going from my MacBook Pro to a Pioneer DDJ-SZ controller. The music is connected and transferred thru a program called Serato DJ Pro. The music is played thru JBL PRX715 Loud Speaker system that is connected with XLR from the controller! Would this make any difference in sound at all ?

    PS: you should take a look at the Curious Cable and USB Regen - quite impressive!

    Hi there :), the JitterBug FMJ (and its predecessor JitterBug) does NOT reclock (and therefore not remove jitter) as it is a merely passive device that does not draw electric current (it does not remove bugs either). JitterBug designer Gordon Rankin was a consultant to AudioQuest and did not name the device. It reduces noise.

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  2 года назад +3

      This is incorrect. The jitterbug is no reclocker, so much is true. But it is a filter that under certain rather common conditions can prevent (increased) jitter from developing.

    I am using a mac mini w/ssd drive as an audio source for my Parasound Halo Integrated Amp. I was experiencing a ‘ticking’ sound through both speakers(Magnapan 1.7i) and headphones. I brought the amp back to the shop and they could not duplicate the problem using a macbook pro as a source. They speculated I was having interference problems with the mac mini power supply. They let me borrow a ‘jitterbug’ to try... worked beautifully! Very happy with the jitterbug, as it was unlistenable without it. $50? It’s a steel!

    Great video as always. Hans can I ask you what mac computer you recommend for using as your music player, right now I am using a MacBook Pro 2009, running a ext usb drive and Ammarra music player, but I would like to go to thunderbolt drives and update to a newer and dedicated computer that just holds the music, would there be a quality difference between a mac laptop or a iMac/Mac Mini ?
    Thanks.

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  8 лет назад

      +gryphongryph The best choice is a MacMini since both MacBook Pro and iMac have noisy screens aboard. Use an SSD system drive and a minimum of 8 GB of RAM. You can have your music on an external drive.

    • @falcon048

      YES!!!! The battery on your iPhone is littered with frequencies bled off form other components like the various radios, etc. We know this is true because a part of FCC compliance is that your components have to accept frequencies. The Jitterbug will filter out that noise when connected to the Dragonfly. I have the Dragonfly red and use the JItterbug. I have it connected to my Samsung S7 Edge and to my Samsung Galaxy S2 Tab.
      It is indispensable.

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  7 лет назад +9

      this is an explanation I would not vouch for.... A battery stores DC and DC has no other frequency than 0 Hz. I would rather suspect the computer chips of producing interfering frequencies ....

    Thank you for the amazing channel and stellar reviews of these products. I am happy to report that your assessments of the Mojo, DACport HD, and Dragonfly Red were spot on what my own ears were telling me. Question for you about this Jitterbug: I might have misunderstood you, but are you saying that if the Jitterbug seems to have no effect then the power in your system is problematic and if it does help then you have good power? I have a 2017 MacBook Pro and a Mojo and Im not hearing much of a perceivable difference. Can you help clarify? Thank you!

    great video hans!
    would you reccomend buying the jitterbug as a legitimate addition to my already purchased (by your reccomendation) Nuforce Udac3?

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  8 лет назад +1

      +kosemk Hard to say. The jitterbug will filter out small anomalies in the power supply and clean up the data signal somewhat. That will improve the sound. But if the power supply of your computer is rather noisy, it will not correct that and have no effect.

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  4 года назад +1

      It is a filter to high frequency noise coming from the source (computer?) over the USB cable. The degree it works depends on the noise level coming from the source and the filtering already present in the DAC. I have not reviewed the Focusrite, so I can't say.

      I watched the videos, but still I can't explain how while using the sound card for a 1-2 months 3 times it did sound amazing the sound was crystal clear no distortion at all and very soft, vocals came forward ,beautiful lows and very wide resolution .
      1 time the sound described above was triggered when waking the laptop from sleep while sound card was plugged in
      2 time the sound described above was triggered while watching movies the sound changed dramatically in an instant I was shocked what happened in my headphones like I plugged in a different output .
      But after shutdown and turning on the laptop all that beautiful sound was gone . I would like to know what is causing this and how to fix it ?
      you are far more experienced then me maybe you came across this kinds of problems before .
      the sound cards uses a C media DAC 6400 series along with a DRV 601ti headphone amp
      headphones I'm using Sennheiser HD 558

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  7 лет назад

      You didn't tell me it sounded ok at first. This is exactly what I meant in the second video. It is impossible to do support at a distance when computers are involved. If it is a Windows computer, you need to set up the computer to do bit-perfect play back. How that is done depends on your version of Windows and the bit-perfect playback software you use. Using Windows media player won't do it. And just installing another player without special measures won't either. Ir you have a Mac, you just have to use bit perfect software and you're set.

    Great objective video as usual. When you get chance, could you give us your thoughts on speaker cables and inter-connect cables. It would be interesting to see them perform on the three different audio setups.

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  8 лет назад +3

      +Venkat R I have never done cable review and I probably never will. Not that cables don't matter or because I would not appreciate the differences between cables, but merely since the output impedance of the sending device and the input impedance of the receiving device can play a very large part in the differences in sound. It is therefore rather complex (if not impossible) to write an objective review of cables. What I will do in due time is explain why some cables can be better than others.

    THANK YOU!!!! Trying to explain how the Jitterbug works to people who believe they are audiophiles and know best is infuriating.
    What you have said perfectly aligns to my discoveries as well. Since I primarily either listen to music from an amp to loudspeaker, the Jitterbug has no effect. However, when I use it on portable devices such as Smartphones and Tablets, it is amazing. I have found that it isn't so much of an audio fix that you can clearly hear, more than an audio anomaly that you can feel. Without the Jitterbug, I get ear fatigue. I cannot listen for more than 30 minutes. With the Jiterbug, it is as if there is an unheard disturbance missing. I can listen for hours without any fatigue. So it maybe that it filters out higher frequency signals and your ear feels but cannot register as a sound.

    • @normanjin8897
      @normanjin8897 5 лет назад +2

      Follow up: it does nothing for me on a desktop. probably because Im using a regulator on my power line in the house. the noise level from my speakers was minimal but still audible, with white noise but no fuzz. it did not improve the sound quality as well by a SPL meter, no improvement or changes on graph was recorded.
      my guess, this thing probably works for any system setup that has detriments in its own consistency, which happens alot if you have so many things connected togather.
      This is a snake oil for me then...
