JRM is refreshing. I disagree with him on the death penalty and on the method of fighting Isis but JRM is spot on on just about everything else. Good going Mr Mogg, you have my support.

That’s absolutely nothing compared to Diane Abbott our first black woman MP who gets more abuse & death threats than any other MP!! Mogg knows this but of course chooses to ignore it.

Despite the opposition in the panel, he handled that perfectly.

Why should we be concerned about online abuse when it is so easy to take care of? Online, whether on social media, or in a forum, or on a video game, you almost always have the ability to make use of some sort of block/ignore function against anyone who is being nasty towards you. If someone starts sending me insults on twitter, I can block them, and I instantly don't have to deal with them anymore. It's such an easy thing to do, and yet people still see the need to tackle online abuse.

I don't disagree that you can block people and not hear from them anymore but just blocking people is treating the symptom not the root of the behaviour. I'm not 100% sure what the root cause is as in my experience boys aren't raised to send women violence, rape and death threats but that's why it needs to be discussed.

its not just boys - according to pew research the most harassed gender is male - and the most to harass women is other women
the research also showed that 50% of women find harassment a big deal and 64% of men thought it was no big deal

JRM gets itt. Government is supposed to be all about making people's lives easier not telling them how they should be leading their lives. Meanwhile in California our betters are narrowing roads, confiscating taxes to build more public transport that fewer and fewer people are using.

Its actually the opposite, to a large extent. But they have failed at that too.

"Female MPs get a level of abuse that as a male MP I don't get..." Actually you've got that backwards. It's just that men have a stricter definition of what constitutes 'abuse'.

I am sorry innocent until proved guilty doesn't apply to men falsely accused of sexual misconduct. It is guilty and probably still "guilty" until proved innocent.
