Civilnet is a gem. Thank you all for the great work!
Thanks for providing detailed information in English about the country and people I care about and wish all the best
always pleasure to hear from Richard, thank you!
Excellent interview! Thank you Patrick and Richard.
Thanks for very upbeat discussion.
Unfortunately Patrick' comments are more of wishfull thinking than reality. Because its obvious that azerbaijani army's capabilities become better every year with new weaponary.
spot on
Thank you folks for your program. I am really encouraged for Armenia's future, based on your information. Thank you again.
Great interview. Thank you Richard and Patrck
That was very insightful. 💯
I've said it before and say it again, Patrick you've been a gem of an addition to civilnet and civil society in Armenia as a whole. I don't agree with everything capitalism, but I can not refute the quality of your shows and the level of detail and relevance of both the guests you have on and type of questioning and conversations you engage in. Ketse tghes, ketse!
Very insightful conversation - thanks Civilnet! 🙏🏻🙌🏻
All insightful information and analysis aside, I truly admire Richard's analytical and logical speech. To me, he sounded like an awesome listener with a highly focused mind! You don't need to mention his captivating voice! Definitely, Richard has just become one of my role models on how to speak.
Congratulations gentlemen for the essential, straight to the point talking. That's exactly what many politicians in Armenia lacking.
Thank you so much for excellent analysis👍
There was no mention of what to do about the Armenian hostages rotting in Azerbaijan's dungeons; I do enjoy Richard's inputs his awesome, however I wish he stops comparing Shakespeare with the Aliyev family, it's an insult to the great playwright who gave us the modern English...
PS do you see Aliyev telling his wife (with anguish) "Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood clean from my hand"?
Excellent comment! Couldn’t help myself picturing aliev with his mustache throwing his arms in the air and lamenting about blood on his hands
@@karinegregorian937 Keep dreaming, but never forget this saying that will be legendary in your ears and will be talked about in the Caucasus for 1000 years. What happened, Pashinyan, you were dancing. no status quo
Good one gentlemen. Richard should be hosted more often.
Why? To feed your delusion?😁
Thank you for your job!
Richard, you’re the best analyst
worst analiyst because It tells you what you want to hear, not the facts.
What a great show. Patrick, you’re killin it.
You are excellent. Keep pumping empty dreams!
Highly insightful! This can only be the first episode of your interviews with Richard 😉
Thank you for this !! Love and respect from India. Also you guys are getting our air defence system too called Akash.
Thank you so very much, gentlemen!
Good point Patrick on fat military commanders and absence of mountain devision in the army, their all thoughts perhaps were concentrated on acquiring strawberries and exploiting solders for their personal gain. and the lack of accountability is infuriating.
Excellent interview, thanks for this!
Our military has to have quality and quantity
Contrary to the title of this "discussion", the guest and the moderator had little of anything to say about what reforms are allegedly taking place in Armenia's military. Actually, no one, let alone these two diasporan Armenians, know what if anything is being done to rebuild Armenia's armed forces after the devastating 2020 war defeat. Now, as in the past, the military is a "taboo" subject for public discussion. Not even the Armenian media dares to investigate what is going on. Talk about a lack of minimal transparency. Giragossian can talk about Azerbaijan's weakened military all he wants, and he does so without providing any credible sources, but the fact remains Baku still holds the military trump card vis-a-vis Armenia. There is little substantive debate in Armenia regarding the 2020 defeat. No one seems willing or ready to broach the matter. The parliament's inquiry commission seems content to hold closed door meetings on the matter, focusing on the tactical blunders of low-mid level officers. Meanwhile, the families of the thousands of dead and injured soldiers can only ask if their sacrifice was in vain.
Yes, the 2020 loss must be discussed. I completely agree with you, but Giragossian goes into a lot of detail, and I doubt that he pulled all this out of the air. This is an individual who runs a think tank, he’s not about to reveal his sources.
Perhaps not to your level of satisfaction but the duo spoke on the issue of reforms in Armenia's military. I could be mistaken but I believe both live in Armenia and, if that’s true but even if it isn’t, why does it matter to you that they are Diasporan?
@@sjbesq1 we are all armenians, well said.
they literally spoke about Armenian military reforms on several points of the show. It was broken up in between other conversations so not sure if you missed that.
Any commentator worth his/her salt would tangentially note sources to support their claims. A detailed perusal of Armenia's press shows nothing, except for generalizations, when covering these "reforms". Giragossian runs a one-man think tank. It was the job of the moderator to press for sources. Otherwise, it's all anecodotal. Again, anything related to the militay, has been a taboo subject for public discussion. Little has changed in this regard. Libaridian's "White Paper" on the 2020 defeat was given short-shrift in Armenia. @@TenTenJ
Armenians are smart people and they can trade.
Excellent analysis!
Viva Armenia !
Very insightful conversation, great interview!! Thanks Civilnet!
We also need to invest HEAVILY in the tech sector; pair that w/ tourism, it would be an avalanche of GDP growth to build up our country. I would love to see Armenia expand its biotech and research institutions to drive medicine, partner w/ Japan in modernizing buildings to have earthquake proof architecture, for us to be a hub for robotics and AI, and artifact preservation. Those are industries that will build this century.
Again and again!
The Armenian side, even the so-called professional experts are diving into the world of dreams!
Complacency and arrogance.
Patrick is so naive and childish…
Great episode! Very informative.
Patrick can you do a podcast on Pashinyan’s position of agitating Russia and what this means to Armenia regarding Iran and Russia actions against Armenia
Wonderful perspective very clear insightful thoughts. Enjoyed listing tp your gust very informative speaker. Much success.
Excellent analysis.
Fantastic interview
Again, the moderator fails to push Giragossian as to his "insider" status on Armenia's military. Does Giragossian have contacts inside the miltary to support his claims about alleged reforms? It's all anecdotal otherwise. This is one of the structural drawbacks of CivilNet and the rest of the amateurish media in Armenia, let alone the diaspora. Commentary is fine, but it must be fact-based. Hacopian rants and raves are a prime example.
He is a pro Turkey CIA operative.

Exultant interview,
Very interesting to listen, of course. However Richard’s suggestion of a contract army is in a sharp contrast with Eric Hacopian garrison state view. In the meantime the pashinian government is passing the law allowing young men to buy themselves out of their military duty. So what is the right solution for Armenia in the times of the existential threat?
peace peace and peace Armenians cannot win by fighting against the Turks. Building a bridge of peace and friendship will prevent the Armenian people from wasting their money on useless military equipment. When Armenians support peace instead of war, Armenian mothers will not go to the cemeteries to cry over their children. In the Caucasus, Georgians, Turks, Azeris and Armenians have to be friends, we are fighting, Russians and Europeans are winning. Armenian mothers should go to visit their children's workplaces, not cemeteries. I feel sorry for them. Raising a child is very difficult
What is Artsakh? Can anyone determine this word in terms of international law?
Azik utich spotted
Armenians are missing this point. The Turkish army has been training Azerbaijani officers in military schools for 30 years. He shared the Turkish army's internal security operations, the military experience it gained in Syria, Iraq and Libya, its investment in the war industry and Turkish drone technology with the Azeri army. The issue is not just aid; the Turkish army supports and will support its brother, the Azeri army, with all its might. Armenians cannot evaluate the events without understanding this. It doesn't change whichever party comes to Turkey.
Ok, thanks for info. Please go away with this picture
Hi, I would like to hear your thought about wilsonian Armenia and the possibility of successions in international court of justice
Would you please share the idea of wilsonian Armenia with Richard thank you
I am Armenian. Question: did Armenian/karabach leadership ever said = two people. All people in karabach equal and should live together.?
Agent Kirakosian speaks…

Patrick, “I come from North America, where the state works for me…” … come on! Since when is Chrystia Freeland working for Canadians ? Watch Jeffrey Sachs interview to Tucker Carlson …
Man Richard is always way off. He also does a terrible reprisentation of Armenia when interviewed by foreign news. Hyperbolic. Less Richard more Eric.
Я плражаюсь его лицемерию. У него явно в глазах пессимизм в отношении армении
@@user-oq3wh6rq7k really? You should do your own body language channel. His eyes could be reflecting a million things, other than your own pessimism. And by the way, why does every Kevork, Garo and Harout need to read tea leaves? Just do the work.

@@TenTenJ take a chill pill first & don't be so aggressive online. As for your question, go and compare him wth Eric Hagopian's talks. Richard's analysis isn't good. Plus check Richard's interviews with international news stations like the German DW you'll see what I'm trying to elude to. NB I have no affiliation of one side to the other.
@@razkrat8803 perhaps you should go back and read your own comment. You might understand who was actually being aggressive. Not that I accused you of that, I was being factual. Perhaps don’t make a generalization about someone, but point out specifically what they said “wrong” about rather than wait until later when someone “aggressive” prompts you. You would be much more influential and effective. Inform him of what you’re hearing in a productive way straight on.
I hope our government is watching this interview.
Come on guys you know you’re a small weak landlocked isolated country without Allie’s. Just accept your defeat and live with it. I mean no one helped you in the last battle
👍👍👍
I watched the whole interview before writing this comment. Thus I can be sure about my opinion.
The "expert" has zero knowledge about Azerbaijani army. But not only that, he also has zero knowledge about military/war doctrines. He has his own reality with his own truths and he's living with them. Some Armenians woke up in 2020 and 2023. But unfortunately people like him are still in deep sleep.
Enlighten us, where is he wrong?
Enlighten us Mr. Winston Churchill 😂
What extremely optimistic thinking.
Is this a channel dedicated to Armenia stuff??
💯
👏
With all due respect, you have the same blind spot all Armenians do since 1915. Ara Baliozian talked about Armenian blind sight to Ottoman mentality. Since 1990, Armenians can't learn from Ataturks republic. No mention of what they have been doing is a failure to learn.
I think you should contact civilnet and offer to do an interview discussing that very topic. Don’t wait for Armenians to get informed on what you find important by making one comment. I don’t know if you have your own channel or show, but maybe appear on this channel, and talk about this author. Take the lead on the most basic level.
@@TenTenJactually I have no idea what this guy is talking about, what it is exactly we should learn from turks, very vague unsubstantiated comment

Is this the same Patrick who blocks LinkedIn accounts when asked questions he doesn’t want to hear.
The lack of sense to evaluate the new regional geopolitical realities with a holistic approach always leads to the wrong analysis by the majority of the Armenian expert community.

That's a nice gossip for Armenian people to get self-satisfaction. Does Armenian people think that world people appreciate them for occupying other country's land illegally for decades? Armenia should concentrate on its poor economy rather than military dreaming.
Nikol hasn't even addressed nor is helping the Artsakh Armenians and some have left because he wants them too. He hates them with a passion.

What do you really think was the real reason why you lost the war?

2. Trusting an not reliable partner like Russia
3. 30yrs of corruption and incompetence in the leadership.
