Homework assignments that have lasted for millennium, there is some paper that has lasted a few thousand years, but today's paper and print may last a few hundred at best, and our digital media, less than one hundred.
practical application tell me what are the effects in the food chain if there is an abundance of food at the bottom ??? (the mice plague) Australia. will this not cause a wave upward into the chain increasing the population of other forms of life that live off the ones at the bottom??? Would make an interesting study and we are witnessing it happen in real time so it can be studied with empirical evidence. if australia has an increase in mouse population what are the effects? mice eat (so much) predators eat (so much) and increase in numbers depending on the available resources. well i'm sure math has something to do with this.

It shows an exam by the ITA (Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronaútica), the most difficult exam in Brazil. ITA is the best engineering institute in Latin America.

Toby can you please take a look at the Leaving Cert Higher Level Maths exam? It is the maths part of the Irish exam that lets you gain entrance to universities.
I mean, it is OBVIOUS that these ancient folks HAD to know a LOT about mathematics and geometry to construct the buildings they constructed. People in those days were JUST as smart as we are, and had thousands of years to build up their knowledge. What makes the difference between now and then is: Political history. So MUCH was lost because of societal instability. As societal stability improved, societal knowledge retention improved also. I mean: Just think about how much was lost because of the destruction of the library at Alexandria. It almost brings me to tears to think about it.
What I'm curious about is how and where they fired those tablets. So did the guy who made that homework just throw it in the oven they have ready for these sort of purposes? How long did it take to harden? What about at school? Did they have a bank of ovens for hardening completed assignments? So many questions about the practical aspects of using clay for writing that are probably impossible to answer.
Tibees could you explain in your own way the photoelectric experiment and how the observer affects the wave function of the photon? For me that is very interesting.
