      Especially coming from the East coast!! Just imagine in Paul would have had the money management skills he has now how big ECW would be probably competing with AEW an WWE right now!! It’s sucks that these Indy guys try an replicate some of these old days and have no audience or very small audiences!! In my honest opinion I believe if Paul would have had a million dollars back then he could have stayed alive and been huge competitors! Shit most of ECW talent did end up doing Jobs in WWE sadly or having short runs in a watered down environment!

      RESPECT!! You are 100% correct sir! From the beginning ECW set the standard or "BAR" very high. They did what NOBODY else would even try and they did it every single week! Barbed wire, fire, dropped off of balconies, truck trailer, and everything and anything else they could use or utilize. Guys like Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, Rhino, RVD, and all of the other amazing wrestlers, they were fearless. They were hell bent on making sure every single fan got their money's worth and had a great time at their shows. Many of those guys took some irreversible and brutal injuries, but they never quit. I have more respect for what they accomplished during those years. No other wrestling company's wrestlers sacrificed more for their fans than ECW's! Legends? They go beyond legendary! Ecw was a pioneer. I faked being sick so my uncle would pick me up from school. He was the one that got me into wrestling. It was the day after the Foley taker hell in a cell, ill never forget it. He said did you ever see ecw? I said no whats that? My gram made me lay on the couch and i watched the ppv with the barbed wire match with foley and funk i think it was. I watched every single 2am broadcast up until the last tnn show.
    Im from Pittsburgh and never even knew they came here. Sucked i would have went. It wasnt even the violence i fell in love with. The storylines were amazing.

    Being there was unbelievable, you felt the emotion, you felt what you were watching was Steve McQueen dying. It was a promotion that gave so much in the early days that you never stopped and realized this could be it. Holiday Hell was amazing seeing it in person. I just wish I could find it on dvd or through other means. Me and my uncle drank 3 40oz at our hotel and went to the show. It was the best of times, it was something to proud of as a fan. I look back at these memories that him and I shared, it was something to behold and hold close to your heart. Memories never fade and legends never die.

    A lot of people don't know this, because it's only available in certain regions but well worth tracking down either on VHS or laser disc "Hits and Even Bigger Hits: the life and times of Blue Suede Bilves Wesley. Not only is his historic NEW Dangerous Alliance run included in its entirety but also the meteoric rise of the Bilves Wesley character w/ enterauge in ECW but the rarely talked about WWF/E Papa New Guinea highly successful championship run...highlighting his team with former valet to Simon Diamond MITCH and then his eventually falling out and feuding with MITCH. This all taking place in what existed before WWE NXT/WWE NXT U.K. the WWF LST PawPaw. Who's the fancam guy that is over huge with the TCAP audience...Fahag Reinstein I think...or something....I think he's got some of it? Someone also just told me he makes his money, his real money, off the "shoots" he lists for sale on the dark web....Why would he list them there? And allegedly an entire series with Buck Zumhoffe??? Thankfully I don't have TOR or deep web access. Either way... final days of ECW here....Sadly.

    As a long time fan of ECW who hadn't seen this before, this show was tough to watch. Everyone knew the promotion was on life support at this point, so most everyone just went through the motions.
    Even the normally molten hot ECW Arena crowd couldn't have cared less about any of it until the main event, which was really weak save for the nasty spot with the chairs & guard rail.

    ECW was a little bit before my time, I was a little kid in its heyday and I grew up on the attitude era and ruthless aggression. I still love going back and watching clips on RUclips, such an amazing promotion. I wonder why they stopped running shows at the arena when they were in business for another year after this.

    • @MikeHL78
      @MikeHL78 4 месяца назад +1

      Because they actually weren't in business for another year after this. The last show they'd ever put on was just three weeks after this one. Paul Heyman started working on Raw in February, and Paul would fold up the ECW tent by early April.

    ECW set the bar for insanity right off the bat, and fans loved it. They were sick of the Hulk Hogan garbage. At least I was. Imagine Hogan in ECW, LMFAO. All JOKES aside, ECW could have gone much further had Paul Heyman not been a complete joke and would have been better with money and Vince McMahon. But while ECW was here it was absolutely the best.
