That texture trick is brilliant! I never would have thought about that. DIYer here. I always stomp. I'm going to give this a try on my current project.
The various textures add to the complexity of repair work. In my area (Montreal) wall textures are not very common and becoming less so as homes are renovated. Still, it is impressive to watch and learn from a master. Thank you!
I TRULY APPRECIATE YOUR VIDEO AND YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THIS FIELD!! I WILL TELL EVERYONE THAT HE'S A FREAKING AWESOME AND HE KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK HE'S TAKING ABOUT!!! I JUST COMPLETED A WHOLE APARTMENT USING HIS KNOWLEDGE!! THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND EXPERIENCE!!!!
Scott this was an awesome video. I've actually emailed you before I think it was last year. I asked you about Plaster and if I could use it on my new skimmed walls. New question. When you use plaster and regular hot mud, you said your ratio is about 70-30 or 60-40. Got that. But what Plaster brand do you use? I live here in Hawaii and don't have any options really. I actually found some, but I had to search for days and hunt them down to find it.
To be honest the only version of plaster of Paris that I’ve ever seen is made by a company named dap. It comes in small pails and cartons 3 to 5 pounds but I use it a lot so I get 25 pound bags hope this helps

Great tip for the brush flick. I am mostly repair guy and this is super helpful. Thanks for sharing and good luck towards the goal. Great content. 👊
This guy is the best I've seen on RUclips.
Scott, this video is very informative. I like your brush flick tip. I've never worked with a mixture of plaster and mud. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed watching and learning. Thanks
