I know this is a creepy pasta story but my dad was born in Glasgow KY on the 20th of October 1962 which is only about 30 minutes away from Edmonson so imagining if this were real makes it all the more creepy!
Edmonson county. Mammoth cave national park bought up a bunch of land and moved out 600 families leaving empty houses and ghost towns. Probably the basis for the rest of the confabulation
The lost colony of Roanoke was located in what is now the Outer Banks of North Carolina, not New England. The colony disappeared between 1587 and 1590. Having lived in that area for 30 years I just wanted to make that correction. Thank you for a great story. ;-)
As with anything there is a small shred of truth. Edmonson county Kentucky is home to mammoth cave national park. Back circa 1930 there were 600 families in a dozen communities and 1 or 2 small towns in an area that was annexed by the park service. I can imagine someone passing through looking at ghost towns wondering what happened to everyone. So that grain of truth made a good foundation for someone either with a creative mind or a confabulated memory to come up with the rest.
I can't find anybody that can even confirm that Edmonson KY even existed. Joppa seems to be the only town there. All of these outside witnesses either don't exist or deny any knowledge of the 'Edmonson incident'.
Always a pleasure… dozing off now. Thank you, Mr. Davis!
Just in time for a cross-campus walk back from DND. Thanks, Mr. Davis!
Love this one! 👍
Thank you, Mr Davis

So the town has no road connecting it to the outside world? How did a road just disappear?
