Help! I'm not "Trans" I'm a masculine Lesbian that is mistaken for a man a lot of the time. I'm having a problem with Job Interviews. In the past I have dressed fem during the initial interview wearing small hoop earrings and then taking them off after I get hired. I've been on a lot of interviews and a few Great ones that I really thought I was going to get but I feel that maybe they didn't hire me because they couldn't figure me out. I was thinking of just saying I'm trans and going as a male. I'm NOT into the pronouns. I'm OLD school. "Butch" Lesbian who knows she's a woman and doesn't want to be trans. I hope I said this right. I don't want to offend anyone. Thanks for your help
Hi Lynster, no worries, you're not offending anyone. You seem like a genuine soul and I would like to clarify some things, if you're interested of course. If not, ignore my text :) Everyone is into pronouns. They're basic grammar that you use to reffer to people that aren't here, or if you reffer to someone without their name. He/Him, She/Her, They/Them. Like "HE is over there" or "She's at lunch", or in the case of a non-binary person "They must've left their wallet at home". It's a replacement for your name, and everyone uses them. Now, being Trans isn't a choice. So if you're not Trans, you're never going to be Trans. BUT, like you said, you're often mistaken for a man, yet, you're woman. So if people would start talking to you as if you were a man, I'd say that could pretty suck for an extensive about of time. "He is over there", "He's working the nightshift", "It's His Jacket". While it may or may not affect you, it sucks. Now Trans people didn't choose to be trans, and they need to "proof" themselves as their gender a lot. So having people reffer to them with the wrong genders pronouns, can pretty suck, if they put so much effort in to be enough. Being butch or masculine as a women, is extremely different from being trans. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them, I'd love to answer them. :)
