Australians accent is like Southern drawl of English like American Southern drawl. Pleasant. Enjoy watching you turn ugly rocks into beautiful gems. The beauty is in the eye of the cutter for sure.
I quite liked the first piece you cut with the lines in, it's a lovely golden green and red colour. I think you should finish cutting it . The others turned out lovely to. Thank you Justin
First time I've caught you live and then had to jump away for the great-grandkids. I'm so sorry I missed a live session, but I'm here to watch now. I'm on the back porch on a beautiful Pittsburgh summer night with the bugs playing their best August concert. 😊
Would love to buy an opal in the green and blue colors. reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis. Ever find a stone like that? This Santa would love a new ring!
i see a lot of people who like that orange guy with sealed cracks. and it has its charm. i think we should start some kind of an auction to bail dudley out of the jar, guys.
Hey Justin, missed the live, firewood day here on Vancouver Island! But I watched the session and kind of love that dud…the one with pitch lines…um, sell it to me?
I came to comment that the one with the white crack lines looks nice, but I see others have beaten me to it...it's nice because the cracks are quite evenly spaced and it looks like a turtle or tortoise shell.
Would it make any sense at all to create a larger ring setting with a large glass magnifying bubble over an opal stone in order to magnify the visual effect of a high dome? Just an odd thought im having now. Might be an interesting experiment.
Great video Justin.I don't think that that dud is really that bad looking I think it's pretty Sharp it may be an odd color but it is a pretty Stone it's got very beautiful rainbow colors in it keep up the good work thank you
I live in Colorado Springs just south of Denver, will you be there the whole show? Hope to see you there. My wife enjoys “mosaic” opal. Have you ever used dud opal to make mosaic stones?
I really love to hear Tamika's excitement in the background! What is Tamika's favorite type of opal (black, crystal, etc...), and pattern? I don't know how I missed this for so long! Hope you see my comment anyways. Love ya's from Tennessee!
Justin if I were young and able to travel I would Sooooo love to come meet you all and gawk at all your lovely gems in Denver. Too little too late for this old lady! I do wish you safe travels and a great event!
Love ya work guys, but when recording/mixing the audio can you turn the audio gain down a bit? The audio is distorting on all my devices and is awful if you’re using headphones 👍
Cherry Opal from Mexico is ruby red. The oranges and yellows are called fire for the hues. Honey opal is a cloudy yellow brown base Australian type that sometimes had play of color (I think, but would be called fire in oregon for the hue) no play of color in the oregon fire opals. Some precious in thunder eggs from one mine. Precious refers to ONLY if it has rainbow color play, not from a crack and many do, that is precious fire opal. In America they called play of color fire to muddy the water or it was bourbon. We have clear white black & fire opals beside colored potch in virgin valley. Gem TV sold a lot of Fire Opal off Juniper Ridge, still claims all over and not even dug out. Contra Luz or backwards light opal is volcanic for the most part.
Gday.. cold cold cold Adelaide I really want to buy a parcel of uncut rough opal from you. I am hooked! I just love chasing that colour. What parcel would you recommend for me... please.
You know. The stones were great. I actually liked the beaten by sand stone. I think if you polished it, it would have that stained glass effect. Try it and see what happens. The white crystal was amazing. I liked it the best.
That first one had some green colored potch, similar to the one that you put on the windowsill for a year. Was that the same kind of potch, and is it stable?
Mexican fire opal does have play of color, stuff is amazing, you haven't seen any? Only deposits found so far are in Mexico, in the states we have fire opal but no play of color, just that fiery orange to red color and good translucency.
Yes but that play of color opal is considered precious opal. Anything with play of color is precious opal. That's why they called the opal without play of color fire opal. It's a marketing term
@@blackopaldirect 🤦♂️ You are correct sir, I misheard you, I apologize. Your videos are amazing to watch, really, for some reason they just relax me, I just love lightning ridge black opal, and the crystal opal too that you cut, such amazing stone's, phenomenal cutting 👍
Would you still sell the one even with the “cracks”. I find stones with imperfections still fascinating as collection pieces (not necessarily for jewelry or anything).
As I promised. When you go to Colorado , go up too Summit County to place called Frisco. You drive up i 70 to get there. The Blue River and the Snake River are in this location . These are gold metal river with very large trout!!! Have fun”, let me know what you catch . If you don’t have a lot of time go to Evergreen . You will find Upper and lower Bear Creek. Bring a spin cast fishing pool and use roster tail lured . Cast down steam and real up stream. There are some very nice German Brown trout! Have fun fishing!!

Thanks Justin beautiful stones as usual. Thanks for sharing your skills with us!
I love that one with the natural healed cracks, if you’re still willing to sell it please let me know! Would make a fabulous cigar ring!
That was my thought as well. Nothing is perfect but that green was very nice I thought.
I would buy that one with cracks and streaks in it, it is really unique and has an unusual olive tint about it that makes it stand out!
Awesome as always
Dudley was my favourite stone.👌🏽
Ps..the painting of the old man is beautiful
Jaw dropping… nature is amazing..
That white piece would’ve made a priceless arrowhead!
Are you live now? Missouri! Hi!
I thought the same thing! Polishing would be hard though :)
Nice ones today! Even the one with the white lines had some unique color.
Another wonderful show. Even the dud was beautiful. Thanks for sharing your time and talent with us. 😷⚒

Beautiful work you do, my kids had equipment when younger The Lapidary journal was their favorite.
Tamika (sorry if I misspelled) has the most beautiful smile! Your channel is just filled with natural beauty!
Beautiful gems in perfect hands
And a belated Merry Christmas to you and your family as well love you guys
Always fun to watch you. The stone with the cracks looked like a turtle shell. Almost liked it the best hope you finish it.
Watching from Penrith as always love watching the masterpieces you cut always make it look easy
They are all beautiful. Each stone has it's own personality.
I'm glad that now we can hear Tamika speaking. What an adorable sidekick.
I love the "Beauty Of The Day" and it was just a gorgeous opal! Greetings to you all at BOD and the cute dog too!
Quite near Oregon fire opal and sunstone. And rainbow obsidian. I have a CHUNK of that!
Beautiful live session, like ever! 👍🤩
Thank you kindly
Love, love, love watching your videos...I live in Colorado and really hope I can meet you while you're in Denver
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Love that little fractured stone. ❤️

I actually love the dud! Great live Justin! 👍
stunning as usual!! Thanks!!
Missed the live again, but I enjoyed watching.
All so gorgeous
I absolutely love your show, great sense of humor!! Opals are my very favorite gem, just stunning what you have cut...

Thank you, Justin.

Got here too late to see this live. Nice work.
Hello from Nashua New Hampshire!
Less talking and more Chopping…….JUST KIDDING!!!! I love this channel 🥰🥰🥰
😂😂
Oddly enough... the one with white webbing is my favorite today! Do those sealed cracks affect the integrity, or is the stone stable?
Yep. I was kinda disappointed Justin didn't finish polishing that one. There is a market for the ugly ducklings, you know...
Yep, I love this one, too because it's just like real life - we all get 'cracks' sooner or later in life and heal more or less as time goes on...
Hope you are doing well my friend and look forward to your work today
I came to comment that the one with the white crack lines looks nice, but I see others have beaten me to it...it's nice because the cracks are quite evenly spaced and it looks like a turtle or tortoise shell.
Well done guys.
yay new session
Yep I liked the stone with the potch lines

That blue/green witch's hat turned out fantastic, glad it cleaned up! Looked a bit sketchy there for a minute
Phoenix Arizona says hi ✌️ Peace ☮️
The first stone with the white lines looks like a combination of opal and marble. I might be weird but I think it's beautiful.
One day I’ll make ur live show 💯👍
U too hv great chemistry together. Too funny 😂
Thanks Troy
Beautiful stones I actually like the character of Dudley but I know you like only perfect stones, but I would love to pilfer your scrap stones 😂

The dud would have been a very beautiful Opal color wise if all of the white wasn't in it ! The 3D Opal is my favorite next to the dud !

That’s to bad about the crack lines in that first piece Justin. The colors in it were great. It still is worth something.
