Hey Yasamine, one thing my mum would say when I would get embarrassed to recite is "never be embarrassed/shy worshipping God" and it's true there's more reward for those who struggling when reciting. A Qur'an teacher would also say that Qur'an will teach you humility as it requires you to be completely vulnerable and there's even a verse that says "struggle to the path".
I know I don't have the best tajweed but God doesn't expect me to be perfect. He expects me to struggle and try to get to the right path. I hope that helps in anyway and may Allah SWT put barakah in all your efforts💛💛

I started practicing arabic with friends and family and it's so much easier to do it with a close friend; you don't feel as judged! I def recommend x

Love the part where you discuss your Ramadan goals ❤ those are the two things I’m hoping to work on too. I totally get the mentality that it’s embarrassing to be older and not know these things inside and out but I remind myself everyone starts (or restarts) somewhere! Daily reading of Quran has helped my tajweed so much (even though there’s tons of room for improvement). My next goal is maintenance and then I want to start slowly memorizing new Surahs ❤

I was really sick the first 2 weeks of Ramadan, and then when I got better I got my period, so I feel like I’m barely getting into it these last 10 nights…. I really feel you on the not feeling as connected part and it sucks feeling left out of Ramadan when everyone else is fasting & praying and you can’t 🥺🥺🥺🥺

Asalamualaikum sis. View it as a mercy from God and the fact He rewarded and is rewarding you so so much. You can make du'a and do lots of dhikr. Different schools of thoughts have their opinion on reading from the Qur'an so you can search that up yourself or if you already follow a certain opinion 💓😊
