4:08 Irrelevant to the "speed test," but the Z Fold has a version of "zoom enhance" in the Samsung Gallery app. When cropping close in an image, you'll get a prompt to choose whether you want to increase the resolution of the crop or leave it at the cropped size relative to the original image resolution, in case anyone didn't know.

You must have some different Trade-In in your country, for my iPhone 14 Pro google would give me a bit over 1000€ here in germany, while Samsung only would give me half of that
I've had a lot of phones. Android, iPhone. The very best phone I ever had was the Google Pixel 4 XL. I loved that phone, but now that I have the Fold 6... It's my new favorite phone of all time.
I had the z fold 6 for about 3 weeks and I returned it due to the narrow front screen although the phone was great. Things I noticed on the 9 pro fold that were better was camera quality, battery life, and the front screen was much better. From using the both, noticing a speed difference is not there and I'm quite picky on my phone I choose to use year round. The Z Fold 6 SE will over shine the 9 pro fold by far since it will have an improved battery, better camera, and a bigger front screen which are all things the 9 pro fold had over the US Z Fold 6. If the SE came to the US Im confident i would've kept the phone.
Being an annoying tech enthusiast...I have the iPhone 16 Pro, Galaxy Flip 5, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold My devices are like my toys/babies lol, I like to experience the different software & hardware etc I came from a Fold 3 before I got the Pixel, so I like that I'm not missing out on anything...since I still have a Flip 5 That makes the Pixel being slower, not a big deal to me. Same with the cameras, all my phones are linked to my Google photos Doesn't matter which camera I use, I can access the photo on either device. Things like this make me happy lol P.S. I do need Samsung to get back on the innovation train, that's what made me switch to the Pixel in the first place
I went from a Pixel 7 Pro to a Z fold 5 - also considered the original Pixel fold. The only issue I had with the Z fold 5 was the cover screen. My eyesight is deteriorating, so I went back to the 7 Pro. I'm now preferring naked Android and will be ordering a 9 Pro XL. Speed for most people isn't an issue - during normal use, neither is super hires displays. I run mine at 1080 and save loads of battery (which is important).
I dont think the Fold 2 is enough of an update to jump from my Pixel fold which I love and still works great. Thus, I decided to reallocate those $1800 to buy an RTX 4090. No regrets so far...
The original Pixel Fold will always be the best Fold in the history of those types of devices. Don't care about Snapdragons or what One Plus and Samsung use.....Googles' own processors are just better at processing the Android OS, regardless of speed. Could be I've been there and done that with Samsung and One Plus. My 8 Pro, Fold and 9 Pro Fold are simply better for my preference.
Raw speed can't be argued with, but still think on day to day it's about preference and for me personally I can't love Samsung, can't put my finger on why, but I'm all Pixel!! And my week old 9pro fold is a beast 😎 Still the same pixel WiFi issues though here in Northern Ireland 🙄 every Pixel I've owned hates low to mid WiFi signal and just decides na!! Cheers for another great video 👌
Speed of apps doesn't bother me as much as the speed of charging. The Pixel Fold is SOOOOO freaking slow to charge compared to my previous iphone and crazy slower than my Oppo Reno Ace (that sadly is not supported by any US carrier any longer).
try disabling adaptive charging in the settings, apparently it increases charging speed crazy but at the reduced long-term health of the battery, so if you plan to keep it for 4+ years maybe don't disable it.
I finally was able to get hands-on with Pixel Fold 2 (yes, I know) at a local phone store, and I have to say that I was really impressed with it overall. This really surprised me as I had written it off right away, however, the build quality is really good and it appears much thinner in person than it does watching reviews online. Still, the camera is simply not anywhere near flagship quality and that was apparent just fiddling with it in the store. I really hope that both Samsung and Google really take these devices to the next level with a proper flagship camera and match the zoom capabilities of them as well.
I would say the camera is something like 90% of the way to the other Pro models. I have to nitpick to find the differences most of the time. Just my 2 cents on that bit.
Faster is realize to one's use case I have both and don't notice any difference besides the smoothness and animation treats of the pixel. I do hope pixel and duo message option living over seas that's a great option.
Thanks Shane. You do these videos every year and people still think its the end of the world to have a Tensor chip. But in 99%of use cases, its just a hint slower and no one would even notice, despite the "huge" benchmark differences. Basic phone functionality doesn't require much power at all.
Restarting times are a specific & practical difference, yet only a very small subset of comparisons. Samung's Nox takes time during boot, protecting your device: please inform me if Pixel has something that un-hackable. I do not know, as I only had the 1st Pixel Fold for a couple of months. 4:53 Thank you for showing stabilization 5:13 the heavy processing difference 5:36, 20 seconds and 43 seconds. Speedtests 6:33 Nice, you had the same Knoxville TN server. Samsung ZF was 215% faster despite needing the user confirmation. For the mobile difference, do you have the same plan for both lines? The network deprioritization is a big difference. Overclocked Folds procs needs any minor active cooling to keep its edge. Despite being power user, I'd take the Pixel because it has text input to fine tune its A.I. generation. Still happy with my ZF6. Thank you for the detailed side-by-side, above and beyond what other channels do.
I love my P9PF but not having a snapdragon CPU sucks. A couple apps I like are highly limited due to the tensor chip. Winlator is a fun app that I load Pokemon Infinite Fusion. But the P9PF struggles so hard as that app is not really optimized none snapdragon or mali gpu
the fact that it FEELS like the Z Fold opens apps as if they were just chillin in the background, vs the Fold needing to load, is a noticeable difference imo just not that important ofc
When the phones are new day to day I don't think it's much of an issue. It's more worrying over time. My pixel 7 pro isn't slow but I'm experiencing more stuttering and delays over time.
This is what my biggest concern is. These differences are ignorable now, but over time I feel the chip in the zold 6 will hold up better than one in the pixel 9 pro fold
Being a long time Samsung user and switching to my 1st Foldable and 1st Pixel device in the P9P Fold. I like it, but I do miss Samsung. I was just so over the candy bar form and when I held the Z Fold 6, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. If Samsung rounds off the corners on the next foldable and make it a little shorter,I will definitely switch back.
If I could get the vanilla pixel OS in the Fold 6 I’d be elated. I like the size/compact factor of the Samsung but can’t stand OneUI and all of Samsungs duplicate apps/ecosystem
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a few features that the Z Fold 6 does not have, including: * Zoom Enhance: This feature allows you to zoom in on photos and videos without losing quality. * Reimagine: This feature allows you to make changes to photos, such as erasing objects or changing the background. * Now Playing: This feature can identify songs that are playing in the background. * Call Screening: This feature allows you to screen calls from unknown numbers. The video also mentions that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a more stable frame rate than the Z Fold 6, although it scores lower in benchmark tests.
1. Gaming tests have been done already 2. Galaxy does have zoom enhance and let's you crop the photo 3. Galaxy has object erasure 4. Galaxy has called screening and call filter as well. The call assistant is just notsautomatic like hold for me. 5. Galaxy doesn't have play for me, but it has auto-shazam like every other phone.
Dang I really wanted to get the pixel because I love those phones but the gaming difference makes it hard to pick it. I like emulating GameCube and PS2 games. So now I'm wondering if it will make a huge difference emulating games compared to the z fold.
I'm a pixel owner. I'm a big gamer but not a big phone gamer. Generally I play big aaa games on other devices. My phone is for working, emails, scheduling, videos, typing. Google sheets, banking ECT. I will say I wish the pixel could have separate home screens and open a small window. But that's about all. Also I feel more confident knowing my pixel has more RAM. Only remorse I have is I might have gotten a one plus open. But I really do trust the pixel cameras the most
Don't google always send out an pixel drop update end of year/beginning of the new year that improves performance? If I remember correctly they did that with the previous models
I use both these phones in parallel and the differences that make me like one or the other (which is changing every few hours 😊) are the UI and aspect ratio on one side and the weight and size on the other. The speed is not a decisive factor for me at any time.
Samsung knows what they are doing, because they have tablet devices in the market that have a huge amount of market share than Google pixel with small amounts of market share. Samsung is designing the z fold in the phone stretch or landscape format not to alter their tablet sales. Samsung can only give one tablet format only when one rotates the phone to landscape to have a view in tablet format. While pixel due to their small market share takes one direct to tablet format. Pixel gives one both formats at once, while Z fold gives one format and then the other when rotated for the other format.
Seems like the z fold is faster with internet load times, may it have anything to do with that like window thing above the volume rocker? Thank you for your videos!
Hello Shane, I'm coming from a Samsung ZFold 5 to the pixel 9 pro fold and I'm wondering is there any videos or tutorials on how to do screen recordings as well as photo scrolling. Meaning when you take the picture you can continue scrolling in for the screen recorder. I'm looking for the setting butt button to adjust the time because it's only giving me about 10 to 20 minutes on the screen recorder. Thank you your response
I have been with Samsung since the days up there dummy flip phones and started my smartphone Journey with their S4. And to be honest with you. Those were the days when Samsung was amazing and Innovative. What brought me to the pixel 9 Pro fold was the fact that nowadays even though Samsung's software is the best in the business and I have enjoyed everything. They throw at me including one of my favorite things to do which is having the ability to sign documents right on the phone with the S Pen I chose to go with Google because Samsung has to figure out what they're doing and do a comprehensive study of the market and we have of Hardware design and choices because I being a owner of both devices and giving you my real world experience. Definitely Samsung has the upper hand because the heart of the phone is a Snapdragon and not a tensor G4, but in the hardware department when it comes to looks Google dead ass designed Frankenstein, which the phone doesn't look that pretty But they actually took the time to listen and gather up all that data from the users of their first pixel fold that it makes you think is Samsung listen to their users on what they want on a phone based on a camera that has the ability to shoot Flagship lifestyle photos, like most of the Chinese foldables and that includes the changes most of us want on the cover display and for the phone to be Slimmer and wider at least Google tries to listen and makes the changes to their products based on customer feedback. That's also one of the things that drove me to buy the unlocked pixel 9 Pro fold and for now, I'm staying with me Google until Samsung. What's out of foldable? That makes sense with us prop recovery display, and hopefully the z fold.Six special edition makes a spectacular impact that they adopted as a design language so we can finally have it the foldable, most of us we're looking for with the greatest software in the industry
Even not thinking about speed, the fold os is way more refined than the pixel Yes the pixel is a really good phone but samsung has worked way more than others on refining the os Even if the hardware hardly change from year to year, the os is way more refined For exemple, only samsung let you have 6 differents wallpaper, have more than 2 windows open at the same time etc
Has anyone else noticed that the Samsung phone app now has "call assist" which is pretty much a copy of pixel's call screening? I was worried when i switched back to Samsung that i would miss it and am pleased it's here.
@@shanecraigtech can you note some of the key differences? I no longer own my pixel so can't compare directly. I should caveat that some of the call screening features on pixel weren't available here in the UK, so my experience may be closer just due to pixel's iteration being 'stripped down'.
I think that biggest difference between the 2 phones is how they work as a foldable. I really wanted the pixel fold 2 but it's just not optimized for the format. It's honestly comparable to an iPhone vs android. iPhones and do pretty much the same thing androids can do, but androids can just do more. That's what it feels like between the fold 6 and pixel fold 2. The zfold can just do more. Better? It's negligible. More? No contest Plus the round corners look like dog sh
Just like in the Fold 4 video my eyes hurt when I see the unfolded Galaxy fold screen. It's a mirrored outer screen. The best feature Samsung has with the Folds is the seperated outer and inner displays.. A feature that makes all the difference. Especially when you want to customize your inner screens and you aren't limited to the two screen situation with app and widget placements. Does she turns this feature off on purpose? I really don't get it 🤣
It truly is beyond belief. "Hey everybody! Let's give you the Pro Fold without the camera from the candy bar Pro. Oh and here's a better idea. Let's give you none of the multitasking features from the OnePlus Open or Fold6 and let's give them 16 GB of RAM to do that." What?
16GB of RAM is for running their LLM on device, not running three apps at a time. They are going for a different strategy than OnePlus or Samsung. only 47% of Pixel Fold users use two apps at a time. How many do you think would use 3 on a regular basis?
@@shanecraigtech Perhaps not many. But I think at this cost we shouldn't be making trade offs. Pixel is the least feature dense of the 3 major US foldables and even it's something you use once a month, for $2000 you should have it, not have to go without. Hell even pop-up window would be a massive upgrade for Pixel.
Don't care, I'll wait a split second longer for my app to open. The zf front screen being that narrow is useless with one-handed use being the single exclusion that I don't care about. Of course on the other hand options are nice. I basically look at these two phones as ZFold being tablet first and Pixel fold being phone first.
this is what comparing macbook to macbook now a days lol. "ThIs One iS FasTer bY 2 SeC0Ndz". i get it though, but damn, just enjoy the phones sometimes lol.
Personally, I am thoroughly unbothered and still choose to daily drive the pixel. It is interesting how some people feel differently about this stuff though.
It never ceases to amaze me that people equate a quarter of a second slower as "sucking" lol. I expected the Fold to be faster, said it 15 seconds in. Did I want the Pixel to be faster? I honestly couldn't care less. It's more than fast enough for my use and the use of virtually everyone.

That makes sense with us prop recovery display, and hopefully the z fold.Six special edition makes a spectacular impact that they adopted as a design language so we can finally have it the foldable, most of us we're looking for with the greatest software in the industry
Does Z Fold 6 have a sharper and more vivid inner display by default?
Fold 6 🙌
Z fold 6 🔥🔥🔥
Does that marginal difference in speed really mattee to you over other things like comfort?
Not to me, no
Even not thinking about speed, the fold os is way more refined than the pixel
Yes the pixel is a really good phone but samsung has worked way more than others on refining the os
Even if the hardware hardly change from year to year, the os is way more refined
For exemple, only samsung let you have 6 differents wallpaper, have more than 2 windows open at the same time etc
Has anyone else noticed that the Samsung phone app now has "call assist" which is pretty much a copy of pixel's call screening? I was worried when i switched back to Samsung that i would miss it and am pleased it's here.
It's there, but it's not as good imo
@@shanecraigtech can you note some of the key differences? I no longer own my pixel so can't compare directly. I should caveat that some of the call screening features on pixel weren't available here in the UK, so my experience may be closer just due to pixel's iteration being 'stripped down'.
How is it that the ZFold inside screen looks bigger - side by side with the P9PF?
It's slightly taller but narrower. If you look at the image editing part at 3:19, you can see that the image is larger on the Pixel.
The Fold 6 is smoother and has the better features..its as simple as that.
Gotta change those passwords now! 😂
You planning on stealing my phones? 😠
@@shanecraigtech 😂 I’m caught! Great videos, always good content.
Where does the OPO stack?
It's pretty similar to the Samsung
I think that biggest difference between the 2 phones is how they work as a foldable. I really wanted the pixel fold 2 but it's just not optimized for the format. It's honestly comparable to an iPhone vs android. iPhones and do pretty much the same thing androids can do, but androids can just do more. That's what it feels like between the fold 6 and pixel fold 2. The zfold can just do more.
Better? It's negligible. More? No contest
Plus the round corners look like dog sh
Just like in the Fold 4 video my eyes hurt when I see the unfolded Galaxy fold screen. It's a mirrored outer screen. The best feature Samsung has with the Folds is the seperated outer and inner displays.. A feature that makes all the difference. Especially when you want to customize your inner screens and you aren't limited to the two screen situation with app and widget placements. Does she turns this feature off on purpose? I really don't get it 🤣
I currently have both. But definitely the pixel in software & outer screen is winner for me.
Please also compare to the Oneplus open
Basically the same as the Z Fold
@@shanecraigtech thanks :)
No idea I refuse to give pixel another try after my pixel 8 trash experience. It was Fing slow. Samsung software experience way better my use case.
It truly is beyond belief.
"Hey everybody! Let's give you the Pro Fold without the camera from the candy bar Pro. Oh and here's a better idea. Let's give you none of the multitasking features from the OnePlus Open or Fold6 and let's give them 16 GB of RAM to do that."
What?
16GB of RAM is for running their LLM on device, not running three apps at a time. They are going for a different strategy than OnePlus or Samsung. only 47% of Pixel Fold users use two apps at a time. How many do you think would use 3 on a regular basis?
@@shanecraigtech Perhaps not many. But I think at this cost we shouldn't be making trade offs. Pixel is the least feature dense of the 3 major US foldables and even it's something you use once a month, for $2000 you should have it, not have to go without. Hell even pop-up window would be a massive upgrade for Pixel.
The fold 6 murdered the pixel fold. The z fold 6 won hands down shane
Murdered? lol. Not that much but I like zf6 much better foldable j think.
Unless you're editing... whatever whatever. Get what you like.
Why you blur the password we still know what the password is because you finger I can see what your presing
So far everyone who has tried to guess (for some reason) has been very wrong.
this is what comparing macbook to macbook now a days lol. "ThIs One iS FasTer bY 2 SeC0Ndz". i get it though, but damn, just enjoy the phones sometimes lol.
Personally, I am thoroughly unbothered and still choose to daily drive the pixel. It is interesting how some people feel differently about this stuff though.
Yes the Samsung is faster, no matter how much he wanted the Pixel to win, Pixels are sort of cool but they suck in performance
So if the Pixel is half as slow shouldn't it be half the price?😅
Hey Shane, does your hinge make a noise while unfolding?
My 1 week old Pixel 9 Pro Fold makes a tiny crackling noise when I open, feels like there is just a teeny tiny single particle of dust trapped in the hinge.
Not sure if its real or in my mind.
It doesn't, but several other foldables I have used have
Hi,
This is standard in this phones?
Its the one think why i dont want buy it...
You have it on beginig? Its possible to fix it? Whats wrong with it
Samsung all day 😋
this is so lol. android vs android
Pixel fold all day

I don't care how fast a Samsung is, I'll never buy anything from them again. They're a horrible company to do business with.
Why
@@kiikii7815 scamming people out of legitimate warranty repairs is my personal experience but there are plenty of other issues with them that you could Google. They might have saved 50 bucks when they scammed me but I haven't bought anything from them for ten years because of it.
😊 The z fold 6 has had at least three or four updates. To get the speed to improve the pixel non-profold hasn't really had any updates yet. You're going to have to weigh it as long. Give the pixel at least three updates. And I'm sure the speed is going to improve and performance and everything is going to improve. It'll probably catch up it as evolved six
It has had like 1
@@jackyyo1998 the z fold 6 had 4 already
@ryuGracie i only had 1 and I got mine since launch
The pin for the pixel is 621780
Not even remotely close lol
