    This is a wonderful list! I was aware of all of these from my research over the last two years or so, but at the beginning a great video like this would have saved me a lot of time. Happy for others who discover it now :). Thanks for making it! My approach will be to focus on 1-2 and really build them up, before I start on the next one, with the goal overall still being to end up with multiple income streams long term. Would you say that is a good approach, or would you suggest a different strategy?

      Ohhhh, if only I had waited to the very end of the video... you already answered this question! :D

      haha in that case thank you for watching it until the end! Yes your approach is what I would’ve done too, and like you I wish I had found a video like this when I started. Instead I just stumbled upon them one by one and had major shiny object syndrome 😅.

    This is amazing, thank you! Your intro is me right now and am working through some of the streams you mention. It feel nice to see that I'm not alone or "crazy" for working towards having several streams of income as a creative. It's so validating!

      that’s exactly what I felt and needed when I was in the “dreaming/planning” stage. glad I can pay it forward!

    I've done 5 of these. Fave in order e-commerce, loose donations, freelance /corporate gigs, live events. Tried teaching a class but I rather 1on1 creative consulting. I've made less than $200 from affiliate sales in 6 years. My audience is tiny and I don't really know what's worth promoting. I feel like the pay is better when I spend that time selling my own products or doing freelance /corporate gigs

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  2 года назад

      so many good nuggets here! Trying something before knocking it, realizing you prefer something else after trying. Affiliate does require an audience although I’d say it also depend on what you’re promoting. Corp gigs always beat out other freelance work, but it’s good to balance that out with our own creative pursuits.

    I’m curious if you can use the same work for both licensing and your own independent e-commerce store. Or is there a non compete clause in most licensing agreements for the piece of artwork?

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  3 года назад +1

      good question! Any non compete would be stipulated in the licensing contract, but in my experience most of the non compete clause are with other licensers/retailers in similar sizes/territories. The licensers I partner with are lenient about using the same designs in my own online store or even wholesale to small retailers.

    Super valuable content, thank you Cathy! Found the segment on licencing particularly interesting as I'd definitely subscribed to the thought that you need to be a pattern maker to do well with it. Charlie

    Hello Cathy. First of all, thank you so much for these videos. As an Asian-American entrepreneur is great to see us doing other things we find passionate about. I have a question if you do not mind...
    So I launched my greeting card line in October and we are in the middle of social media marketing. I know it takes time, patience, and money so I'm not expecting to make any profit any time soon. I've sold six cards since then, to one customer. Of course I want to sell more but like I said, patience.
    Finally, the question, and I hope this never happens, but when do you feel it's time to close shop? Like after how many months of social media marketing and no sales? Thank you so much!

      Thanks for watching. I posted it on my IG recently but it might help answer your question. The short answer is don’t give up after a couple of months just because one platform isn’t giving you the results you wanted.

    Great video! When you were talking about freelancing you were basically describing my life and how I was feeling! Now I'm building other streams of income and I understand that it is possible to make an income as an artist in other ways!

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  3 года назад +2

      it’s very possible! Freelancing can be very empowering and isolating at the same time. Good luck building up the other streams of income, stay patient and consistent :).

    Thank you for the wonderful video. My daughter wants to be an illustrator. She would like to study in University. Personally I feel she should stick with her Art Mentor as University is so expensive and it's a huge debt to carry through life. Teaching Art is a great idea.

    In person events are hardworking. All my sales come from in person events. I’m still learning how to build constant sales online since I’m a solo entrepreneur. I’m more of a crafter then an illustrator but you information is very valuable. Thank you.
