@@lukeleton This is funny, but still I want to ask. When will nuke stop crashing because of two gridwarp nodes in a script? I've been asking this question for years.
@@isaacait.6679 that's it's disappointing and underwhelming. Nuke has been stagnant for a decade. Despite all supposed improvements and additions, the core has stayed untouched and they haven't addressed a lot of the ongoing underlying issues that affect everyday users. Wll while they add several times useless new features that sound cool and sell licenses.
functionalities are great as always. It's only the pricing for the smaller studios to handle!! nuke indie is good for solo artists, in a similar way it would be great if a new plan structure is released for smaller studios!!
@@lukeleton I guess is a compositing package that barely does anything to help compositors anymore, some examples: the tracker gest slow, connecting nodes with more than 4 inputs gets really messy(dasGrain), frameserver only runs on cpy so renders are slower, the cornerPin points cant be adjusted with a gizmo to scale from the middle, planartracker gets unstable very quickly, to name a few...
Something I feel like should be added is soft-selecting keyframes in the curve editor... For when you want the motion or timing of something to slow down or speed up but only in a specific section, but scaling sections can get way too fiddly... I dont often need to do something like that, but I've needed to do that a few times already and it was annoying that i couldnt soft select keyframes.
Just yesterday I was at a party of a small post house and the owners told me they`re desperately trying to get rid of Nuke and it`s ridiculous pricing, they keep an eye on Fusion and even the planned overhaul of Houdini`s compositor. If that's not desperation, then I don't know what is...
@@xanzuls Agree , Fusion is great, does almost all that Nuke does, unless is very, very specific VFX shots on Very HIGH budget production, but for your low to mid range productions ( even high productions with smart planning ) Fusion should be enough. Nuke is always the top Dog, but the pricing is killing if you are not doing AAA stuff, which is most of the work around.
Waiting for auto-roto, replace sky, magic clean up. The annual upgrades don’t seem to be offering much. The only reason is in the hope that maybe 16 is worth it
I'm more of the camp that would rather see current/old tools improved, but god damn would I be happy if I never had to use Optical Flares again, a 14 year old After Effects plugin. Every studio I've worked at uses it , despite its clunky interface, limited licenses and unfriendly behavior on the render farm. Also, I've been finding myself jealous of AE and Resolve for having roto-brush features. While that's never going to replace a manual roto or key, holy crap would that not be handy for quick garbage mattes?
Are you able to demonstrate using Nuke Studio for a full cg cinematic project? And how do you create a blank slug as a placeholder in the Nuke Studio timeline?
So many new features, and not a single improvement for previous tools.
I’m confused by your comment, there seems to be a lot of previous tools that were improved here?
@@lukeleton This is funny, but still I want to ask. When will nuke stop crashing because of two gridwarp nodes in a script? I've been asking this question for years.
It's funny and depressing imo. We pay maintenance and some times back maintenance fees for what maintenance? LOL
exactly
but do you fixed the rotopaint node? 🤣🤣
As a compositor I feel meh!!!!!, the editors must be really happy it seems....
Compositors have been meh for 8 versions at this point...
Whats the meaning of meh😅

No GPU acceleration update on windows? Nvidia/Amd/Intel Arc GPUs?
How on Earth can you have 2 major releases and still have the new (somewhat useless) 3D system in Beta?!
they need the Machine learning update so investors are happy. They just need to look like their following the trend.
Barely any updates to NukeX but more just a Nuke Studio update.
As a compositor I feel meh!!!!! too
The fact that you're taking support from CentOS to Rocky is great to see.

Yes, totally agree. Also, indie is great, but no good if you need to partner with a team on full. So unless yr solo it’s not v helpful
Very, very, veeeeeeery dissapointed release. I mean, very.
Subscriptions means you don’t have to be impressed, just pay!
Underwhelming update. Should've been a lot more considering you switched to fully annual subscriptions and it costs 4.5k/year now.
Underwhelming would be putting it mildly.
What was you hoping for?

Why in photoshop I can magic heal brush something and click a button to cut a person out but in nuke we can’t .

Add that soft selection to roto splines/points too. And a "nudge" brush.
I only wish some day Foundry updates indie version with every toolset support as regular version, and keeping a decent price.

There’s an overhaul of Houdini’s compositor incoming ?
Fusion is pretty good IMO and does most at a fraction of cost. It also has Reactor which adds more tools.
@@loumyvolmar1091 Yes, it is finally. They were looking for compositing software delevopers some time ago and also confirmed that they`re on it.

@@migovas1483 True, but if only BM would've put out more updates in Fusion just for compositing. We would've have more competition and less monopoly.
Improvements for GPU acceleration please...

so no more windows?
So nuke 14.1 also faster?
Legends use da Vinci's fusion😂
Not that impressed. Does anyone at the Foundry still bother reading feature and bug fix requests?
That's good .. how much it cost !?
Love it!!
Awesome !!!!
Such a good release!

Awesome 👍👍👍
super unstable !! Nuke x (licensed!!!) crashing too much while using grid warp and other tools....oflow !!
on RTX 4070 TI....

awssome
Foundry is never gonna update Nuke's UI.
What would they need to update exactly, and I’d say they have updated it in a few ways here
Why update it? it works. I hate it when programs update the UI and all my muscle memory goes to waste.
@@LumanoidAU with that logic, all programs would look like Flame/XSI in 2023
Please don't change the UI for no reason.
What's wrong with the UI?
