YES, YES. Please 🙏 there are literally no tutorials, and as someone who has unifi access as their front door lock it would be fantastic to have a tutorial on how to install the door strike correctly connected on a door. Again, great content, many thanks
@@corvettec-dt1eq would are you putting these on residential doors? the real pain is going to be ascetically running the wire and cutting in the lock/strike. If its an exterior door, youre not going to want it in fail safe, so youre going to want to add a crash bar to get out
Great video and very informative. Those little orange things are called Wagos and are used instead of wire nuts. They are used a lot in European countries and are just now starting to make inroads into the US by replacing wire nuts.
Definitely need to see the wiring of a strike into a door frame, how you route the wires, etc. I'm really interested in this but haven't been able to get my hands on the equipment so I'll live vicariously through you!
I would love to see a video of Ashley installing one of these from scratch. We are looking at something similar at our church but I've never had to install a door strike before.
Can the electric strike be mounted on an exterior door that opens out? I'm guessing it would need to be waterproof or rain-resistant if so. That's what I'm in the market for.
when will they integrate fire alarm settings to their controller? i mean when there is a fire signal at one controller that controller needs to send signals to all controllers to open doors..
Could you post the dimensions of the maglock and it’s screw hole offset measurements for your next video, I am interested to see if I can retrofit mount this maglock to my door’s pre-existing screw holes. Thanks!
So I'm a little confused now with the electric lock option. We have a metal frame glass door out front that doesn't have a latch (like the little thingy that you'd turn a door knob to unhook the door from the plate/frame to open it). It's just a handle and you pull or push to open the door, and it has a lock that latches when we close up for the day. We want to do an electric lock but not sure if that would work in our door situation. Would the electric lock make the lock itself turn to lock/unlock as we push the Exit button (or swipe to enter), if that makes sense..? Or would we have to use the magnetic lock option since there's no door latch thingy?
By the way, I noticed you torn into the little plastic bag holding the parts. On all of the equipment I have gotten from UniFi, they have a a perforation line near the top of the bag which makes it very easy to tear along and open the bag with minimum fuss. Sort of like how they do their cardboard boxes.
LonewolfDIY on RUclips did a video showing the installation of the door strike. I would like to see you do a video too. I'm not completely sold on Unifi Access yet until I buy a larger home where I can use it.
I don't understand how the electric lock works. So you don't need to change out anything on the door side? How does it unlock the door? What if the dead bolt is manually set? Nobody clarifies this point.
For the DPS cabling that you didn't hook up in this video. Is that a requirement to hook up? What is the purpose and advantages/disadvantages of hooking up the DPS wiring?
Hey, thanks for a very informative video. How deep is the electric strike? Here in Denmark, the tongue (part of the lock that sticks out) is ~2cm (0.787 inches) long. Will it fit inside?
Quick question- can you remotely open the Electric Strike? Would like to put out on a gate with door bell notification, then open after viewing visitor
Adams rite strike and probably a BEA mag lock.. Nothing special, but thanks for the vid. If your installing the strike I’d buy a jig as it is as close to foolproof as you’ll get.. free handing it takes practice. Mag lock is fairly straight forward as long as you pay attention..👍🏼

Agree
yes, I've wondered for a while how easy it would be to install on a residential door, or if it would be a real big pain in the backside

A magnetic lock for a residential building is probably the worst idea, back in college me and my friends would just rip these doors open
Bonus points for including the WAGOs
Great video and very informative.

I honestly never knew the name of the wagos always tried looking them up and could never find them. Now I can thank you :)
Perfect, Thank you.
Can you please also make a video of how you install it in the door?

I would like to see an install of the strike if you do.

Would love to see the Strike install video - thx. 👍🏻

Very informative vid and just wondering which is noisier ? I'd be placing one of them on a door under a bedroom
I would like to see a install video. Still looking forward to your synology update.
Should update this with a video adding a push to exit button
would love to see more access type content
Hi there. What is the DPS+/- used for with the EM Maglock please?
Why would Ubiquity sell strikes and mags? Like, choose a lane! I do like the sticker templates. Even better then the HESCUTKIT for HES strikes
They sell access control so why wouldn’t they?
I don't understand how the electric lock works. So you don't need to change out anything on the door side? How does it unlock the door? What if the dead bolt is manually set? Nobody clarifies this point.
would like to see actual install
can you confirm if the fail secure switch has been removed on the newer models of the UA-lock?

its a door position sensor, so you can monitor its state while away or get notified whenever it is opened and closed.
Will other Magnetic Locks work with the Door Access Hub or are only unifi magnetic locks compatible? Can the mag lock be installed on an outside gate
LockPickingLawyer?

Can I install both maglock and electric strike on same door
Really basic question - how can a user lock the door with Unifi that is not an admin? Can this be done with a keypad?
Will other Magnetic Locks work with the Door Access Hub? Or are only unifi magnetic locks compatible?
Any 12v accessory
Would love to see you install
Please lets see the install of looks in door, thank you
bro, we want to see that install. You always make great vids!
Do i realy need buy like 5 of thous for lock all my gates and Doors? And can i open gate and open 2 Doors same time?
Quick question- can you remotely open the Electric Strike? Would like to put out on a gate with door bell notification, then open after viewing visitor
Yes you can connect a push button that opens the lock
Would be a good video. Door bell, video on mobile, press button, access visitor
Do one cutting the door frame
Each hub is for one door only?
Yes
Liquid nail sandwich
Love how bad Hostifi is written in your Chrome's bookmarks lol
Lol I should fix that
Thanks.
wish unifi would just make a simple lock mechanism that works via wifi like a yale lock.
Look in the early access store
WAGOS!
