Honourable mention for Monza 2015 F3 weekend, where the driving standard was so shocking the drivers had to be told to stop crashing or the weekend would be cancelled (edit) he mentioned it at the end as well, guess I'm psychic 😂
I wouldn’t say psychic, until I looked at the title I thought the exact same thing. Either that or you ARE and are trying to- where the fuck am I going with this?
As an old fart, I feel compelled to mention Spa 1998, where I believe 5 or less cars made it beyond the 3rd turn unscathed. It just so happened that back then, teams had 1 backup car, so most of those who crashed were able to make the restart. (That said, there were several teams where both cars were crashed , so only 1 driver made it to the restart.)
I can’t say that this is the messiest race in motorsport history. Take the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix for example, that was insane and only had 8 drivers who took the chequered flag
I think Monaco 1996 still takes the cake for the worst race, but this one could be the candidate for one of the worst in terms of a whole weekend (others include that F3 Monza race, Indy Music Gp, ...)
1:24 “Why would you pause the video to find out what this said?” WELL I THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING INTERESTING OR SOMETHING THAT IT WAS COMPARABLE TO IDK
Hell no I love chaos in f1 if this happened in a race it would be the best race of the season imaging Russell or latifi taking pole and mazespin getting top 5
The Gasly bias is insane "Nato failed to spot Gasly" "Gasly swerved to avoid Nato's spinning top impression and got pile driven" That's one way to look at it I guess.
In the 1977 F1 race in Brazil only 7 of the 22 cars were still running by the end. Curve 2 looked like a scrap yard since back then they didn't remove the cars while the race was still on.
@@JohnWarren just saw you mentioned it in the video right after I carried on watching after commenting 🤣🤣 oh well thanks anyway mate I’m gonna try and learn premiere soon wish me luck
Tbf, everything before the.... Pit stop, the racing was good. Fangio was chasing Hawthorne at blistering speed, breaking the lap record a couple of times.

For my opinion on the messiest race in motorsport in general, I point you to the NASCAR Truck Series at Daytona in 2019, where only 9 drivers finished, or this year's Knoxville dirt race, which had a record tying 4 overtime attempts (because rather than end under the pace, or safety, car, NASCAR just tacks 2 more laps onto the end until we finally finish under green), and 14 total cautions.
Also several of the drivers here are present in the 2021 Formula E grid: Alex Lynn --> Mahindra Mitch Evans --> Jaguar Oliver Rowland --> Nissan Norman Nato --> Venturi
8:19 Not agreeing to this satement. Just think about it. What percentage of the F2-field does actually get promoted to F1 for a whole season? After that, think how many of those drivers actually make it into a third year in F1. I haven't done the math, but I expect that less than 10% of the field is actually good enough for long term F1.

Messiest race eh?
F1 Saudi Arabia 2021: Hold My Beer.
Imagine these races with the reliability of the early 2000's F1 cars, literally a Royal Rumble Race...whoever finishes get points....
Watched it live, was my first F2 race i'd ever watched. I've been a massive fan ever since.
tbf: safety car restarts can be tricky for F1 drivers as well looking towards the shenanigans in Mugello

I don't always watch indycar but the race at Nashville was pretty messy
This aged real well
That "big crunch" at the 3rd restart in the sprint was done in F1 four years later in the 2020 Tuscan GP
Interesting that Gasly and Giovannazi came out on top at the end, guess it somewhat shows the pedigree of racers they are hence they made F1

Might just be recency bias, but the indy nashville race was about as messy as it gets
Indycar was also terrible to the new bridge circuit recently
