Here’s the vocabulary list : -spill the beans ( reveal a secret ) - a guilty pleasure : something you enjoy doing with a feeling of shame -a marriage proposal: ask someone to marry you - the whole point : the important thing, the fact of the matter - the evil eye : bad luck through a look -burdensome : distressing, troublesome
I always remind myself to never spill the beans because I totally believe that "A close mouth catches no flies". Moreover, if we share our secret, there will be a lot of evil eyes around us, which will spread a kind of negative for us.
This is the best channel I have ever found for improving my English The vocabularies it provides are very useful in academic field especially for the students preparing ielts exam
It is so out of habit for me to spill the beans. It is a guilty pleasure for me to reveal them to someone. I cannot keep any secret, as soon as I know something I genuinely want to share it with someone. However, the whole point of it is I do not know too many secrets to tell someone about. So, when it happens, I cannot keep myself under control. I do not believe in the evil eye as strong as you are.

Thanks to 6 minutes English, I could achieve my goal. Thank you sooo much! From now on, I will also continue to study English hard:) This topic was very interesting for me as usual. Keeping a secret is sometimes difficult…
sometimes I spill the beans when I thought that somethong was not right. The whole point to say is that learning english with BBC Learning english is very important and can give you a great speeches;
I can keep a secret; it's critical to keep a negative secret, a person sharing his feelings, an important thing; they don't want other people to know; it's reasonable to say you're the believable guy, so don't let them down; a thoughtless statement leads to a shattered connection.
That depends on the secret for example when I have a bad secret at a different moment I spell the beans because I feel burdensome but when I have a good secret, I feel guilty pleasure because it is a good thing.
Dear BBC, When we pronounce the word 'often', do we need to elide 't' sound or not? If I'm not wrong, without elision 't' sound is American English. Please respond me back. Thank you.
Native speaks pronounce 'often' both ways - some people pronounce the 't' and some don't, so it's really up to you which you prefer - you'll hear both versions in the UK though :)
@@bbclearningenglish Thank you very much for your quick response. As I am very pompous and speak with a posh British Accent, I'm taking care of the pronunciation of each and every word.
Jeremy: Who spilt the beans about me eating George's tuna and cucumber sandwiches? Geoff: It was me, sorry, Jeremy. I had to tell George. It's burdensome to keep such a huge secret! Jeremy: The whole point of eating the sandwich was pretending to apologise to George and secretly give him the evil eye. Giving the evil eye to random people is a guilty pleasure. By the way, Georgina told me about your marriage proposal to her. Congratulations! Geoff: Oh yeah! I completely forgot! I'm getting married!
spill the beans : reveal a secret guilty : have done something illegal marriage proposal : ask someone to marry you evil eye : superstition burdensome = troublesome
Personally, I can't keep a secret with my relatives. I think I would also reveal big secrets like pregnancy although in my country it is considered inappropriate because many people believe in the evil eye. However, I am able to keep other people's secrets
