I put the position at 9:40 into the Lichess engine and it found the move Giri played at a depth of about 46 and it became the top move recommended at 51 with White up 3.6
Wow. Petition to rename this video "Giri's Immortal Zugzwang"! That ending position reminded me of Alpha Zero's legendary game against Stockfish when it locked in SF's queen in the corner.
If you let Stockfish under lichess chew on the "invisible to the engines" move (preceding a4), it DOES find it (depth 39) but considers a4 the second best move behind h4. Before depth 39 (really about 38 and a half), it IS invisible as it doesn't show up even in the top 5 moves for White.
This position is difficult for the engines because black can sacrifice the knight and play yet another 50 moves before being checkmated. The main mistake is not playing g5 immediately after knight was pinned.
8:34 black should have moved pawn to d5. The rook will then protect the knight and king can unpin. The whole point was king not able to unpin till the black resigned. The result could have been different.

That is by far the most beautiful move I've ever seen. Not too complicated to understand and it goes against exactly what u want in an endgame, namely material and keeping material on the board if ur down 2 pawns. Such a simple idea and yet the engines just straight up don't see it. I wonder if any engine would find that if u gave it enough time assuming that it doesn't just check every legal move after a while
#suggestion Great job with the sound Antonio!! It sounds super good! One more quick note, the lows are a little loud, and still a little echoy. I don't know if you use an EQ filter on your mic or not, but that would be a pretty simple way to fix it. Just turn your lows (anything below 250 Hz) down 3-5 dB. Alternatively, if you're more comfortable with EQ-ing, your room reflects sounds of around 160-180 Hz [from what I can tell, I'd have to play around with the sound a little to know for sure], so you could just do a small EQ gesture centered at 170 Hz that widens out to about 15 Hz on either side and that should also cover that specific echo. This is all possible to do in OBS, but it requires an EQ pluggin, which are free, but I've had trouble with them in the past. Otherwise, just more objects in the room with more volume will prevent these low sounds from reflecting as evenly and creating a noticeable echo. This isn't a sound note, just a side note that you should take with a grain of salt that you might've already thought about. Don't feel like the room has to feel like a studio. People watch your videos for the chess, but the video of you also feels authentic in your old place. We can hear the mailman sometimes, we can see your sweatshirts on the couch sometimes, it just feels like you're talking to us in a chill, but messy living room that could be in any one of our friend's houses. Don't worry about your new room being perfect. Let the imperfections and your personality show through, as that's what we love about you, on top of your passion and love of chess. Thanks for your videos!
Spectacular is a strong word. Maxim exchanged his fianchetto bishop for a night that wasn't doing much at the time and blew the game right there. Looks more like one of those educational games in Ninzowitch "My System" the theme is "The Pin". Anyway a very good game. Thanks for showing it Aga.
Holy shit I actually found a4 without even pausing or giving it a thought and then I realized it was lising coz black has 2 pass pawns and then Anish showed what GMs truly are.
Simply fantastic, a lesson of technique, sacrifing two pawns with such reduced material to exploit the positional advantage! Very well done, thank you for publishing It!
Looks like there is still some sound issues. Perhaps you need to fiddle with the settings on the yeti mic or place it somewhere where it does not pick up the vibrations of the table
To improve your sound I suggest you to take off your mic of your table If you can, put it in a floor mic stand =) actually it doesent bothered me, but I know and appreciate your desire to improve audio! all my thanks for you and this channel
When Giri decided to trade rooks is when he knew it was winning. To say he knew it when he first left the bishop in that area is kind of far fetched. But its a fantastic plan whenever it came to mind.
Very interesting that on Lichess engine the ending position is only +0.4, but just 5 or 10 moves later with best play it says that the position is completely winning.

What a beautiful endgame. You have to be very special to realize a position like this is winning, and play towards it.
That is one of the most powerful bishops I’ve seen in my years in chess. That bishop determined the outcome of the game.
I love how Agad’s definition of a weird move is just any move that isn’t the correct one.
