Little surprised I haven’t heard more comparisons to the F5.5, it’s a little more chunky and tactical and the lines aren’t as flowy but the deployment has that same satisfying meaty thwack.

Once u go skiffs u can’t go back. I put them on literally every knife I get
@@CloudyShinobi out of my entire collection i have 1 singular knife that has shown any difference in action from using skiffs with like a maybe 10% improvement... and thats only because the original caged bearings were damaged on one side in that particular knife lol.
I dont even oil the bearings anymore I like them dry (not what she said) but I do still lube detent ball
If its brass or phosphorus bronze u should oil them for the cage. Teflon or delrin u don’t need to. Its not the balls that need oil its the cage

I want to order the civivi nugz and skiffs bearings but i don’t know what size i need to order? Do i need to order their measuring tool first and then order the bearings? That would be a longer process i know but if it has to be done that way then i guess lol
You could, or check their compatibility sheet on their website. Im sure a lot of civivis are on it. My guess would be 5mm 1/16 11 ball
I dunno how you got the multi row skiffs to fit in the rskaos. I bought them and they didn’t work, bc it also has two different sized bearings for whatever asinine reason
Did you get the 16 ball multi row or 18 ball. You have to use the 16.
Do skiff bearings really make that much difference?
Yes. I have a whole video explaining my thinking on it. Just search skiff bearings on youtube it will probably come up
here is my experience:
the actual answer is that it HIGHLY depends on the knife, its original bearings, and if there are any issues with either regarding action to begin with. on the vast majority of knives youre going to feel very, very little to no difference. every once in a blue moon youll get a knife that benefits slightly from skiffs, and even rarer than that youll get a knife that genuinely drastically improves from using skiffs. getting skiffs for a small portion of my collection about 25-30 knives was like $400. i swapped them out into around 60 knives so far give or take and i can tell you that they are simply not worth it unless youre actively having issues specifically with the current bearings in your knife, which can be solved a lot of the time by simply switching to a new set of the same caged bearings worth like a fraction of a cent. reputable manufacturers will pretty much always send you free sets of caged bearings when requested.
Another matter is that of centering. I've been told by a fair few folks that skiffs can potentially correct centering issues. 5 or 6 of the knives i got skiffs for were to test that claim and not a single one of them saw any perceptible improvements in centering.
the best thing you can do for the action of your knives (if you dont do this already) and something that in my experience makes a much, much, much more noticable difference than buying expensive aftermarket caged bearings, unless they are explicitly needed, is simply disassembling, thoroughly cleaning, lubing, and reassembling your knives.
