ZONTES ZT350 GK REVIEW
You can’t argue with the spec and incredible value for money of this brand and especially this 350.
Thanks mark yes they are a great brand...good vfm
You can't deny that knowingly buying Chinese products drains our market and supports the Chinese regime.
I have a Zontes 310V, for 2 years from new. Well specced, the same as this one, except for TPM and it's had zero issues. Three things to note, 1, the keyless fob batteries barely last 6 months but it does say that in the manual. 2, the stock tyres are way too hard, I had the rear ABS come on quite often, switched to Mitas tyres, no more ABS kick in and way more grip in all scenarios. 3, the rear suspension compression damping is rock hard, rebound and preload are good. I have a Suzuki B-king, (181hp) and a Harley Springer Classic. The Zontes is my go to for fun and everything except autoroute.
why does your rear abs goes on? shouldnt u mainly use the front brake??
I can't understand why all bikes don't come with back-lit switch gear especially with LED's being so cheap & small. It puts the Japanese brands to shame. Great video Mark :)
Many thanks the back lit switch gear is a nice touch .. thanks zontes
The rear rim left me with my jaw dropped plus I like the front brake disk protection! What a beautiful surprise! The bike seems very desirable! Also very nice presentation! Thank you!
My pleasure 😊
Grüße aus Österreich ich besitze die GK 350 bin voll zufrieden, hatte die G1 125 und bin sehr Froh das sie die 350 GK gebaut haben 👍Danke für diesen Fahrbericht.
Hi Mark, I've been waiting for this one! Zontes UK told me you'd be reviewing it, and it appears to be everything and more. I think I'll be making my way to my dealers soon! Thanks for the review, good as always ❤️
Thanks Shaun it's great and as it happens I'm going out on it in half an hour! ! :)
Great review as usual Mark.
Had a ZT125U for 6 months/1000 miles - never skipped a beat, great spec, frugal, very underrated - the only issue (literally the only thing) was re-sale value for part-ex with mainstream dealers , they either don’t know what these bikes are (frustrating, come on you’re in the trade) or what I found most was they’re too worried about re-selling and getting held accountable for any warranty work (‘we can’t guarantee we’ll get parts’ etc). So either keep em, or private resale.
Thanks Peter great comment...
Gonna see what my dealer will say...they have Zontes and Enfields...
The resale problem should go away soon especially with such honest comprehensive reviews that mark does. What we as owners need to do is to add our own personal opinions as I did with the zontes phantom s250. I plan to do a few reviews on the 310r very soon now I've done its run in and covered a few thousand miles. I promote zontes whenever I can and Clement moto the importers.hopefully too we will see an increased dealer network in the uk.
@@wolfburgman I was going to release my 6hr footage of the G1 in the black hills but tech diff ahem. Shame as did some off roading! Panicked as was Welsh slate etc but the G1 managed some tough terrain...felt great and brakrs were fine going down slate/gravel...
Just bought one.I was afraid it was too small for me but it goes fine.I even plan to go to another country this summer.Nothing beats a hot summer and fresh air coming into your hands while riding.I like bikes.
I LOVE the twin pipes! What incredibile value for money the bike as well!!
Thanks Mark👍
I really enjoyed this bike James
Great vfm
Thanks for the review, Mark. Very interesting bike, and the Chinese manufacturers are starting to up their game.
Thanks yes zontes are very good now :)
Just bought one from Poole Moto. Thanks Mark, great review and it's so much fun to ride. Fit and finish is excellent.
Thanks great choice really like the zontes bikes cheers mark
You ride a greater variety of bikes than anyone on the net. Great reviews to.
Many thanks I really appreciate the feedback best regards mark
Mark, I've been appreciating your reviews for ages and this Zontes ZT350 Gk review is the tops. Thank you for your amazing videos!
Thanks Colin I really appreciate that
Best wishes mark
Moto linda, tomará que algum dia venha pro Brasil.
Great review Mark. It's good to see you reviewing bikes that many others wouldn't bother with. What a cracking looking little performer it is as well! However, come on Zontes, what's with the 3k miles service intervals?
That's a fair question, especially given the fact that the engine is basically a copy of the kawasaki single
Thanks Mark. Great professional review of Broadcast quality. Lovely motorcycle . I would buy one.
Thanks Christopher:)
That is a really great looking bike Mark and the quality looks top as well!!! I've been riding 46 years but would definitely consider as a town bike. Unfortunately, not available in Australia: like loads of other bikes !
Hi Simon ...many thanks...yes zontes really make some nice bikes .. shame it's not available in aus
Cheers mark
Those tubeless spoked rims are an impressively deluxe touch. I see an adventure bike in their future.
They've one with same engine
Once again you managed to bring us another great but under appreciated bike. Back-lit switch gear is a great idea, maybe but Zontes including it others will follow suit. It shouldn’t just be on high end bikes. When you first said the price I thought I heard you wrong. What a deal.
Yes I think these are going to sell very well:)
Another great review thanks Mark. Looks a great little machine! Certainly got me interested.
Thanks Ben ....yes it's a fun bike
Looks wise, this bike is absolutely gorgeous 😍
Vidio bagus terimakasih infonya bro
Good review Mark. Another great looking bike from Zontes.
Great review mark and I've got to say, watch out Japanese bikes, zontes is coming for u.that is amazing fit and finish the price the TFT I think it's a no brainer.
Yes James zontes are very good,!!
Another great review Mark, thank you. Lovely finish and good value. Other manufacturers could learn from their build quality. I'm definitely interested in this one Regards David
Thanks David ...yes try one if you can
If its like the G1 great fun bike and I just did 4 days in the Welsh hills on one n loved it. This GK looks spot on for some twisties👍🤞
Great review Mark👍
I really like the Neo-retro design along with all essential features nd twin exhaust looks cool tho. Its gonna launch in India soon so i was looking for a review got yours first nd liked it🌟
A new subscriber here from India🇮🇳
Hi shaarod many thanks for the sub
Great bike :)
Great review, you answered all the questions I was thinking of. Seems like a cracking bike for commuting & value for money.
Thanks Sam yes it's going to give it's competition a run for the money
Cheers mark
exellent review just orderd one /black/gold.👌
Hi there, yeah, I signed the paperwork yesterday, I should be getting my GK 350 come Monday or Tuesday! After 5.000- 7.000 kilometers I will put a good chain on that beauty!
I also had the G1 125, and the chain on that was just terrible! Got an RK 520 with x-rings on it. Never been in rain once, and I used Motul chain white spray every 300 kilometers, I could not believe my eyes when I saw a bunch of rust on it!!!
The RK chain feels soooo much better, the bike runs nice and smooth now.
So I may change the chain on the GK 350 as well if I see any sign of yucky ness...
Very nice review mate, thank you. I'm Very excited, next week I'll pick it up and start with the break in period...
Safe riding 👍
How's the bike after the 5months? Did you run into any issues?
@@Celcarion Hey there chainsaw, well l have got 10.000 klms. On her now!! Actually came back from the service just today!
Everything adjusted, 7100 Motul 💯% synthetic in, new spark plug, and all the filters... It's running silky smooth. But the mechanic noticed the front light was faulty, I have high beams, and position lights, but no regular running lights, he told me to not worry and that in a week he'll have a whole new headlight! So it appears that if one light goes off they change out the whole thing!!
But Yamaha and Kawasaki also does the same thing being LED lights and all ... Oh well, it's got 3-years of guarantee so... It's not coming out of my pocket. Other than that, all is good with it!
Safe riding ✌️
Really nice zonte350 fantastic thanks mark brilliant videos coverage ride safe👍❤️
Many thanks Andrew 😄
Great review Mark.. I love the sound of that single cylinder, great bike for the money. Like some other comments I worry about the resale. But all the same cracking little bike 😊
Thanks Vince ...I guess it wouldn't matter if you are planning on keeping it a long time:)
Snazzy little machine should fit in the R3/ninja 400 segment nicely 👍
Great stuff Mark. You make buying these bikes very tempting. If only I had more space.
Thanks Timothy 😊
G'day Mark from Australia, l like this bike, great commuting machine with an ability to cruise around the country side, a fine work all round bike, and as always a excellent review, you should get a job selling motorcycle mate, cheers Neil 🤠.
Thanks Neil greetings to. Australia
Again an excellent review. Overall a good looking bike. Quality is now on a par with the leaders. I see zontes doing well and I look forward to seeing their 800 triple. I can't see any real advantage to this bike over the predecessor the 310cc.I can't understand why zontes didn't give us a little more power. This bike only has 4bhp more having said that excellent value for money, lightweight punchy and economical bikes.thank you as always Mark!
Cheers Phil ...yes I think zontes will do well with this bike
It only went from 310cc - 350cc 4hp is about right. And it will still have more torque. Over 9k rpm is already high in the band more hp would probably mean over 10krpm and less usable.
Great review, small cc is popular in the states currently.Would love a review of Kawasaki x300, cheers.
Many thanks:)
I'm looking at getting one off these I've only ever had 600cc bikes but these look fun
Hi Mark, Just saw this excellent and very thorough test you conducted on this little 350 some months ago now, I have started to think about one of these as a second Bike to go with my Benelli 752s it seems a capable little Bike for what it is and very good value for the money. Thanks again Mark for your honesty and your testing skills on this little machine.
Kind Regards, Adrian.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Adrian
Really enjoyed the 752s recently
Best wishes mark
Your test reports are very thorough and professional. Well done. Hope we get the Zontes GK350 here in Oz.
Cheers
Pete
Thanks very much Pete
Great review Mark. Definitely looks like a lovely mid size naked, but available in Canada I’m afraid.thanks👍
Nice review Mark. I swear I’ve seen you on that bike around the area. I am sure I saw the colour scheme of that bike the other week. Might of been someone else though. Nice little bike to be fair. I wasn’t expecting it to be that good but it is a great bike 👍🏻
Thanks Dan haha might of been me !
I guess you live in the Poole area then
@@markpulling12 I live in Christchurch but I have all over the BCP area lately. Just got divorced so been buying lots of stuff for my new place from stores around the area 😂
@@Dan_B_Rides oh ok Dan .... Christchurch is nice ;)
Hi Mark I've been enjoying your reviews this looks like a very good quality bike for the money do you think it's enough power take a passenger if I provide some grab rails
Hi David yes definitely 40 hp is more than capable for a passenger
Cheers mark
another great video mark keep up the good work
Many thanks Leigh 😊
Great quality review. Looking exactly for this kind of detail for Zontes GK350. Although still not sure if I'd sell my Ducati scrambler sixty2 400cc (43hp) over this one. Great value & equipment for money though.
Dual USB fast-charger ports, back-lit switchgear, keyless control, TPMS, mobile connectivity and forged hand guards all factory fitted as standard. Most bikes at three times the price from Japanese, German, British and some Italian brands often feature none of those things as standard.
Seems like a decent little bike, looks are ok, I like the antiglare TFT - thats a neat touch, quite heavy for a 350 though (the wet weight you quoted is pretty much the same as my 790 Duke), J.Juan brakes are owned by Brembo and also make calipers for KTMs (the 790/890 calipers are very similar to the ones on the Zontes). Suspect they'll sell quite a few of these.
Great bike, I can tell how impressed with it you are, fabulous price... 👌, shared to my #girlsrideout group 💙 great review as always Mark 👏
Thanks very much Martine ....yes it's got alot of interest:)
Another bike for value and seems to go well for a 350 single . Thanks for your video .
After doing the Welsh twisties on the Zontes G1 can confirm brakes and cornering were brill. Just the sound at 60ish was very loud but the 350 sounds a lot better.
Re the comfort after 1.30 hr I def had a dead bum so cant wait to test this new bike! (Could be me not being used to long stints).
Its just what I needed re 60 cruising especially for the A road faster sections. On a 125 was thrilling to say the least😜
Thanks yes the G1 is great but this cruises at 60 mph very well
Best regards mark
@@markpulling12 Its a tempter! I'll perhaps phone up the local garage n see when they are getting a demo one🤞
@@MauriceTarantulas thanks...think you will like it ...it's just like a more powerful version of your G1
@@markpulling12 Pretty much what I thought from your review👍
Nice machine. Good review. Interests me a lot, as I've been away from bikes for a few years , but owned all sorts back in Oz. Now living in Staffordshire , and would love a " toy " to stick in the garage. I've subscribed. like your style, Mark. AussieMart.
Many thanks Martin ...yes great bikes these zontes.... testing Yamaha world raid on Monday:)
It really looks nice n my mind , everything it should be- I’d be more than happy to ride it - and for a 350, it still does have enough power to over take - all in all -… gimme gimme!!
Many thanks Nicholas....yes it has plenty of power for overtaking great build quality too 😊
Really cool looking bike packed with features, nice review
Thanks I really like it's TFT dash and it rides really well
Great review as usual Mark.
I’ve got a G1 (which is excellent) but won’t be considering this once I pass my test as fancy something with a bit bigger capacity. Triumph tiger sport 660 is at the top of my list. Try get your hands on one of those if you can for a review!
Thanks Luke will do 😊
Same here Luke but Tiger 660 maybe out of my range. I can see why you want it though...
Great bike. Zontes builds KTM. Good built quality 👍
This 350 runs much better than KTM, looks and comfort, also better than KTM.
Their co-op results in great quality bike for affordable prices ❤️👍
Thanks yes it runs very well ☺️
I can't see that as anything to use as confidence building material!
Hi Mark, what would you recommend between this Zontes and Honda's 2022 Cb500x? New Rider dilemma
Hi well the zontes is quite a bit cheaper new ...and it's alot more manageable for your first bike...the cb500x is physically big for your first bike ,but if you are tall then you'll be fine ... personally I'd go for either the zontes or a used cb500f maybe
Good luck 🤞
@@markpulling12thanks for your words of wisdom. I'll put my Zontes order in and wait for the cb500x on the used market. Cheers Mate!
What a cracking bike, take note bmw/KTM! The quality of that looks better than my xr1000 😳
Bmw don't care. Most of this bike here is parts shared with KTM anyway.
This brand is not flying here in Brazil. The 310's have the same price as the bmw 310. Dealers are not practicing the msrp and consumers are skeptical about parts availability. The 350 model has not been released here.
Good review. Nice looking bike!
Please when you accelerate on the dual carriageway, rev the engine to the red line in at least one gear. Thanks
really detailed review, Mark! I'm still wondering how this bike's performance compare to the Honda CB300r. I'm looking for my first motorbike, so can you give my some key points to compare with the CB300r?
Hi they are similar performance...the Honda feels a bit lighter and smaller ..the zontes is just as nicely put together... overall they are equally matched .. try and sit and ride on both and you'll get a feel of which one is best for you
Cheers mark
Thorough review. Thanks. It looks to be a very good option, especially for city riding/commuting.
I know comparisons are awkward to do, but how would you say this holds up against say a Svart/Vitpilen 401 or a Duke 390? The price is good, and I'm guessing it being less desirable to thieves will help keep insurance a bit lower.
Hi it hasn't quite got the top end power of the Duke but pulls just as strong low down ...it's way more comfortable and a better day to day bike and the economy so far is looking great:)
@@markpulling12 thank you.
The comfort aspect is huge if you're riding in traffic every day.
Hi there Mark‼️ would you happen to know which company makes an after market "cafe racer" seat, that would be fantastic for the Zontes 350 GK!
Always great videos, thx!
Hi ...many thanks....sorry I don't know of one ... maybe have a Google search and you should find one local ish to you
Best wishes mark
I should buy this just because it has my initials on the tank! ;)
What would you estimate for 0-100kph in seconds?
Hi Gary about 6 seconds to 100 kmh
@@markpulling12 Interesting, that's actually quite good, especially if it drinks only 3-3.5L to 100km
What is the compression ratio and the fuel octane required?
I'm impressed by what 350cc can do if it's liquid cooled.
Did the mpg drop off sharply over 60 mph?
Hi it's 12.3:1. E10 fuel is fine
No it's returning about 80 mpg at 60 mph best regards mark
@@markpulling12 - Astounding! I wonder how long the valves will continue to seal given that compression ratio.
@@daveinwla6360 12.88:1 for the KTM 390. 12:1 on my bmw f800gs
Mark, I've heard you say that you're a short guy. 5.7 is average, not short. I'm 5.9, again average. I've never seen anything like that rear wheel before today. Nice bike. I need to know how much gas is in the tank and I need the speed as I approach an exit ramp. Otherwise, I want a display that is not distracting.
all ya really need... with todays texting driver filled roads.. i feel safer doing 50-60mph on B roads... my days of 85mph dual carriageway/motorway are long gone i just dont enjoy it..
these do look great value i am just wary of the longevity of the electronics through a few british winters.. i dont like rider modes ive never needed them.. i just wanna ride it not fiddle with it... but they look fair bike
The only thing holding me back is the parts issues.
Grate video as always
Great review. Looking for a smaller capacity runaround with Mrs pillion on occasion. Tried out the Meteor RE today zippy little bike. How would you compare this to that sounds like this is a better more fun all rounder? Cheers.
Yes exactly that it's definitely more fun ...with its 40 hp engine...the meteor has a charm about it though...this zontes is very good for the money though great build quality
Best regards mark
This may sound silly but I must ask. Is the difference between 310 and 350 really noticeable in everyday riding, commuting, Sunday run out?. Just thinking would 310 basically do the same job obviously I am thinking Z310 v Z350. Really appreciate your view on that as I'm torn 310 or 350.
Hi glen no maybe a few bhp but you wouldn't notice much difference and for day to day riding it would be fine :)
Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 appreciate that Mark really appreciate your brilliant straight forward reviews. Trouble is I am now so torn between Scram, GK, and ZT310/350. My concern is I have a Himalayan and don't want anything too similar but the ZT seems to offer more over GK for the same money,🙉🙊🙈🤔🤔
Spoked wheels that take tubeless tyres. That's a nice touch. If this was a 500cc single, it would be perfect. As it is, the 350 must be the perfect commuter. I don't like keyless. I don't suppose it has quite the shove of the 390, Mark?
Another professional review.
Hi Nik ...alot more comfortable but not quite the top end but pretty much the same at the bottom which is interesting maybe the gearing
Cheers nik
Hi Mark it's mark from the Wirral Merseyside. I really like the zontes gk 350 nice looking bike to be honest with you and i just don't know what bike to go for zontes gk 350 or the KTM Duke 370 or 690 Duke. Do zontes do a 600cc version of the 350 GK that will be a great review for you to do. Great RUclips video mark on the zontes GK 350 and keep these RUclips videos coming out please because I'm very interested in watching them aswell and i just want to get back into motorcycling again as soon as possible. I just like the way you go into detail about each the motorcycles from 350cc upto 600/700cc because i want a motorcycle between 350cc and no more than 700cc and i just want to hear your thoughts and reviews on these motorcycles the naked look please because i just like them the most. Great RUclips videos and great work please keep them coming out because I'm very interested them mark 👍 thanks from mark 👍👍👍 from the Wirral Merseyside 👍👍👍 hope to hear from you soon
Always knowable, informative videos. My question is. On this model would there be any provision for luggage panniers or a rack. Ta.👍
Hi Marko ...I'm sure givi or a similar manufacturer would make a rack for these ...you can always fit soft luggage quite easily
Bes wishes mark
When you came to the quick stop I noticed you were downshifting quite fast: where you holding the clutch in and going down the grears till you got to 1st or did you have a quick shifter on the bike?
Hi these don't have quickshifters I was just down changing fast
Best wishes mark
Hi Mark hope you're well. Just wondering as you thought so highly of this bike why you bought the Royal Enfield hunter instead?
Hi Nigel your about the fifth person to ask lol
I love the zontes but I've always wanted an Enfield...it's a totally different bike to ride ...low revving high torque much smoother whereas the zontes has double the power and much revvier ...I bought the Enfield because I just wanted a plodder with old skool charm ...and loving it
Best regards mark
ive just brought the ZT350 T17
More my sort of thing than the Meteor which I thought I would really like but I found I didn't which is not to say it is a bad bike. Same engine in a bike with a fairing that is more luggage friendly perhaps? It does look stunning.
Many thanks...it rides really well best regards mark
Think bars need to be longer and different gearing get vibration after 60 I've bought a screen for mine so much better
great review checking this one out tomorrow and they have a demo Bike
Does changing the exhaust system or putting slip-ons, needs tuning or remapping?
Simple slip on no ...but full system you'd need to remap

Meteor and GK350 are close in new price. Which one should I have Mark?
If you are thinking about do it all and fun go for the GK ....if you want just to cruise about 60 mph in comfort go for the meteor
Cheers mark
Rather get one of these than the expensive triumph trident for example. Great exaughst, and price!!
Prefer it to the smaller 125. not the usual modern massive elephant size on some bikes such as the Honda cb. Why is it that the only bikes I've seen that come with a built in Alarm and the electric mopeds ?? If I was to choose between a few bikes and wasn't sure and couldn't make up my mind. I'd go for the bike with an Alarm or tracking device . Has it a CENTRE STAND? Why on earth don't most of these new bikes. In my opinion it's a must. I had an old Honda CBX 750 years ago and had to fit one on it. I'm now going to see of I can look up the black and gold colour as I not keen on white 😊
Thanks yes it's a shame so many bikes don't come with centre stands
Cheers mark
Just a cost saving. Most bikes will sell the centre stand back to you for a couple of hundred pounds. Those under engine exhaust pipes seem to have been the death of the centre stand. Think it's because of bikes starting to have a catalyst fitted and on smaller bikes the room just isn't free anywhere else.
nice bike, very Svartpilen'ish, just wish they would do a retro scrambler with this motor in, painted metal tank, knobbly tyres etc and i would buy it, bluroc hero style but the show to match the go
Just get the black one and fit knobbly tyres. And maybe a headlight guard. It already has wire wheels. I think it would look great. 👀

Hi, My only question is how much do mainstream dealers value Zontes motorcycles in a part exchange for say a new Japanese motorcycle. Or do they still refuse them?
I think it's about 50/50 some will some won't ....but it's definitely improving all the time as Chinese bikes are getting better and better
Best regards mark
@@markpulling12 Yes, I agree, I think shopping around a bit more than usual to get a PX price would be normal with a Chinese motorcycle.
Sorry Mark one last thing to share...I noticed a Yamaha YZFR 125 on a 15 plate at my local dealer for £3800. Traded in I guess it was PX'd for £2800-£2900 against new. Try the same Chinese motorcycle of the same year(and similar condition) I guess would be up to £1000 less. I think at present the savings made upon purchasing a new Chinese motorcycle would some years later would have to be paid back when wanting to change. I guess the broadchurch moment for Chinese motorcycles will be when the retail prices match that of the Japanese brands. I think that will be the indicator that Chinese motorcycles, Brand desirability and reliability have completed their journey. Take Care.
@@twosugars901 yes I get that and agree also just remembered I'm also asked this for bigger Chinese bikes like Benelli trk502 ...my answer is it's relative...so someone buys a top of the range bmw r1250gs te for day £18000 ..three years later they px in for another and are offered £14000 against a new one so £4000 lost ...a new Benelli is like £5799 ? After three years you might get back say £2/3 k so it's about the same if you catch my drift it's just the cost of ownership
Best wishes mark
How does it compare to the duke 390? I do prefer the looks and details of the GK!!
Hi Chris it's alot more comfortable...not as focused more every day bike ... The Duke pulls harder at the top end of revs
Cheers mark
Will buy a 400cc version if they ever made one.
BTW can you please make slight order in weight info? All of these chinese manufacturers is nightmare including info from bike magazines. What is the dry weight (without fuel and possibly other fluids), what is the wet weight (motorcycle ready to ride) and how much you can put on top of it (like maximum allowed). And no info from marketing materials, but real values from documentation/papers obtained after buy/registrations with government offices
Have you changed your camera mark? The picture quality isn't up to your usual excellent standard
Haha it's due to the video just being uploaded....it is caused by RUclips it gets better later .... everybody says this :)
Okay thanks, thought it might be something like that 🙂
My local dealer will not supply one due to reliability and parts issues, and will not service any zontes, was there a previous parts supply issue?
ali express....
Hi Mark, if the battery runs out for the keyless fob, is there a key to use to turn it on?
No there isn't a key ...you just have to make sure you replace the very cheap cost battery in the fob every six months or so ...or take the spare fob with you cheers mark
I saw a review with three different models in the thumbnail, there’s a spot near the rear and without a battery he was able to activate the bike, some type of RF ID system for that situation. (I think his channel was called Ride with Alex). @@markpulling12 Great review Mark!
