There’s been a job change, what do I do? How does California Child Support Services know?

  • If there has been a change in jobs and either parent is making less or more money, that is considered a change in circumstances and you can request a review of the child support case. Child support orders may be changed due to an increase or decrease in either parent’s earnings, a change in custody, or a change in the amount of time the child spends with each parent.
    The best way for child support agencies to know of these changes is for you to tell them. If there is a change in employment be sure to contact your local child support agency as soon as possible at www.childsupport.ca.gov or 1-866-901-3212.
