    Fritz TurboStart is an amazing product. I use it for immediate introduction of fish and the fish are healthy and happy and all water tests are coming out great.

      Hello did you just add the turbo start then acclimatise the fish then just add them?

    What kind of ammonia did you use? I want to set up a quarantine tank for some new fish I want to buy in a 10 gallon aquarium. Do you suggest I use fish food and then wait until there is two PPMs of ammonia before I add the turbo start?

    Hey there, does the fritz work when the tank is currently cycling but isn’t finished? I set up my tank two weeks ago and I’m slow getting impatient for fish lol

    great video. Do you know if i reduce the number of fish ( to 1 small guppy) and consequently the food, bacteria could die and no longer reduce amonia and nitrite? thanks

    These products do work. In my case, I used Dr. Tim's One & Only. Two weeks later my fishless planted tank was totally cycled.

    I was just wondering at what ideal temperature does Fritz turbostart 700 need to be stored at in my fridge? Also when initially purchased it didn't come packed in a cool box so was wondering if it is still okay considering it took nearly 1 week to arrive at my house? Also was wondering if it is okay if there is a possibility that the live bacteria would be usless/ dead considering that I live in the UK where currently the average temperature during the day is around 20-23 Degrees Celsius as it took a while to arrive at my address??? Why I ask is because I am completely new/ beginner/ novice to fish keeping hobby.
    Any kind of advice regarding this matter would be very useful and helpful and very greatful.
    Thank you.
    Tom.

    Good review. I just picked up a bottle of this stuff to cycle my tank after a complete tear down and sterilization from a parasite outbreak. Killed all of my fish in a few days. What RO/DI unit do you use and what was the approximate cost if you dont mind me asking. Thanks

      Hugh J. I got all my stuff from a company called Express water. Your prices are pretty darn good and I've got a lot of water out of one set of filters. Approximately $200

    I seriously need help. I started my first ever tank, and was using the shelf stable Fritz 7, and things were progressing slowly, so I bought the Turbo and ammonia got to zero, but Nitrites were high. I was told from someone in the fish community to do a 25-50% water change. Now ammonia is very high again, along with nitrite staying high. She told me to do another 50% water change so cycle doesnt stall. Are you able to comment on this?

      You may have ammonia in your source water, which is not too uncommon

      @andrewesquivel , thank you! I'm going to test it. My tap water (well water) conditioned with prime is what I started with. It's with that water that cycled to zero for ammonia, but high Nitrites. I switched to remineralized RO water for water change. That's when ammonia spiked.

    Hello! Great video. Just a quick question for clarification. Did you do any water changes in between? Or you just added ammonia, then added bacteria, and tested until you saw that it cycled?

    • @Origmist
      @Origmist 3 года назад

      I’m a bit late usually you don’t do water changes since you want to keep as much bacteria in tank you only change the water when nitrates are high

    Do you think I can get away without adding ammonia if I’m using remineralized rodi water?

    I have a question how much turbo start did you put in the 10 gallon?

    • @TupacShakur69
      @TupacShakur69 2 года назад

      Dont know if you got an answer yet, but it says you can dose 5x safely and that small bottle can be dumped into a ten gallon.

    Hello fish fam (longer post I’m sorry)
    Backstory: for reasons outside of our control we are attempting a fish in cycle on a 5g top fin freshwater tank kept at 77*f. Tank has 1 beta, 2 guppies, one snail.
    Water treatment: Treat fridge water with api stress coat + , switches recently to sea chem prime. Heat water to match tank tempt before water changes
    Bio filter: have attempted to cycle tank using api quick start, switched recently to stability
    PROBLEM: can’t seem to get tank to fully cycle.
    Water readings (api master test kit:
    Ph-7.6
    Ammonia-.25ppm
    Nitrites-.25ppm
    Nitrates-30-40ppm
    Maintenance: Perform 20-50% water changes (depending on nitrates) every day or two. Vacuum substrate during water changes. Twice daily water gets
    Backstory:
    This has been going on for 9 days. On the 8th-15 of feb tank was used to treat fin rot on beta with kanaplex (guppies and snap were removed) as well as removing carbon filter)
    On the 15th after successful treatment we replaced filter, dosed quick start and dress guard. 24 hours later we added other tank mates.
    Problem: can’t seem to get cycle going. Constantly have .25 ammonia ( could be from prime and choloromine break down ) % constantly have .25-.50 nitrites and 40ish nitrates. Never saw spikes and are conceded with fish constantly living at these parameters even though we are dosing prime daily.
    Ty!

    It would be nice if SOMEONE would explain HOW to do a fishless cycle with this product. The manufacturer doesn't even do it. I spent at least an hour trying to find the directions.

    What did you have in tank for ammonia, and what was level of it to begin with ?

    • @andrewesquivel
      @andrewesquivel  5 лет назад

      I only do fish-less cycles. so just pure ammonia was added. usually to about 8ppm

      @@andrewesquivel , I used raw shrimp for three days, 4ppm, did water change after a month, orange on nitrate level, waiting for ammonia to drop now, am I doing ok ?
