Uriah Apparatus. Well, it was made after 1990, that I am certain. The Super Nintendo helped a lot! 😉 If I can I'll watch it only to look for clues on it's making.
Homeschool Dropouts With that amount of money you'd think they be able to buy a Nintendo 64 along with a functional TV set... But the real problem is not the quality of the equipment: these kinds of movies are made by people who don't know what they're doing. Most of them don't know basic filming skills or writing, most of them don't know how to act either, although some of the actors are surprisingly decent considering what they are asked to do...
To be fair that headless bodybuilder is a pretty convincing effect (bar that one shot where they left his head on) given the obvious low budget of the movie.
I found a copy of this movie in a record store and, not knowing anything about it, I bought it on a whim for a buck. it has since gone on to be my ULTIMATE guilty pleasure. it's so bad, it's great. and as goofy as the film is I find it hard to believe the films ridiculousness wasn't entirely intentional. fun fact: the body that has the mark seared into it is a cadaver, the film maker having been friends with a mortician. DVD special features go into it a bit.
Kinda weird it was done on a cadaver, but interesting none the less. Even if someone did get it branded I would admire them for having the iconic sd logo haha
The comment is lying. It's not done on a cadaver. The special feature shows the person who it was done to, who is alive, and from Seattle. I don't know what compelled the original commenter to lie but it's funyn that so many people upvoted his comment.@@heartscreams2798
I seriously want to see a high-budget remake of this movie. With a higher budget and many, many revisions, this could make an interesting surrealism film. This movie's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, but there are a ton of things that keep me from truly enjoying its weirdness.
My aunt is good friends with the director and I've met him on a couple occasions. The guy who plays plates is good friends with the director in real life and they have collaborated many times. That is why he's in his movies.
So this is where the woman screaming "WHY?" comes from and I've been watching your reviews since you started with Mac and Me all those years ago. I guess I missed a few reviews.
10:03 - 10:31 One of my favorite Phelous Moments. Way back in the day, when I just heard of this genius I thought he was passible, like a guy I would watch when I was waiting for James Rolfe or Doug Walker to make a video, but when I saw that moment I personally crowned him on that level.
@@TheBonkleFox I actually have an idea for a Pokémon region based on Egypt (among several other locations (California, Vancouver, Shikoku, Chicago, Greece, India, Las Vegas, Mexico, etc.)
Reminds me a lot of those old FMV games for the Sega CD, and not just the acting style. I’m not sure what it is. They also had the same kind of fever dream quality to them.
Metal Mouth finally kills the Old Man! "DID SOMEONE SAY OLD MAN?! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Oh, look! He got all wet in the rain before he got killed! He's completely useless now!"
plates is handsome- also i really love the newspapered room. it makes sense that someone who doesn't know how to appropriately interact with others and considers a person a pet would line a room like that, extending it to the walls and the ceiling gives it a surreal feel that if the film was better made would have fit in i think. and i like the stilted acting from the older woman, if the movie was better made and shot having this one character who is initially suspicious speaking so inorganically in comparison to the others, to me, would have set a nice creepy tone
Today I learned that the score was composed by Captain Sensible: Lead singer of the legendary punk band The Damned. And I thought Warwick Davis was the only waste of talent.
I...I have seen this movie. I have actually seen it. I had no idea what I was in for, I expected a B-horror movie the quality of Friday the 13th or Saw...I just had no idea. This was the first BAD bad movie I saw. I have seen others since, but this movie will always be my Birdemic.
Surgeon General as a character design seems wasted I think it wouldn't be too hard to make a proper slasher flick series with him if someone put a proper team and budget together.
One of my favorite reviews for some reason. Maybe its because of the horrible movie, maybe it's because of your over reaction, but I think in my deepest heart of gold it's because people actually let this crap-fest permanently scar them with an SD branding and go to jail for public indecency.
Not going to lie, I laughed at Brain insisting to be called Brian. This set-up could be turned into a decent comedy in the hands of, you know, people with anything remotely resembling talent.
I do admire this movie for how memorably crazy and weird it is. It's bad, but it at least stands out. That's the best kind of bad that something can be.
Joe M. Surgeon General uses Leap. Old Biker uses Screech. It failed. Surgeon General uses Slash. Old Biker fainted. Surgeon General earned 568 Exp and 12 dollars.
And we, as an audience, are begging for the pain to stop! Augh! Do I have shit in my eyes or is the movie so crappy that even my brain started to melt? Also, I feel neausous back in a jiffy!
8:24 is there anyone else who's getting a real cheesy mid 90s music video vibe from this segment of the film? with the room being covered in newspapers and some of the shots being filmed with a wide-angle lens i'm just waiting on one of the backstreet boys, spice girls or one of the members of green day to show up
I just realised I can’t make out what the old guy with glasses said before they all laugh😅 *looks at title again* so it’s literal?!😅 I loved the ending, dude✌️😜
It's pretty much Texas Chainsaw Massacre, if someone had looked at that film and went "right guys, let's do that, but make every single aspect of it really really shit"
There is no way this film was made in 2004. This looked like it was shot in the early 90s on a cheap camera from the early 70s!
it was made in the 90s
For real? I don't remember finding any info on it's production.
could've been filmed earlier and released at 2004 the last slumber party is a good example it was released in 1988 despite being filmed in 1984.
Uriah Apparatus. Well, it was made after 1990, that I am certain. The Super Nintendo helped a lot! 😉
If I can I'll watch it only to look for clues on it's making.
Look like it was filmed on the same 70s camera they used for the 1990 Captain America TV Movie.
Tina's "Why?" and Clay's "What the fuck!?" sum up this movie perfectly.
Give Warwick Davis some credit. Dude can chuck those plates. Now way that that was CG.
mmm he's amazing
This movie had a $600,000 budget.
...
THIS. MOVIE. HAD A $600,000. BUDGET.
Add the fact that this... thing... came out in 2004!!!! I thought this looked like it came from the 1970s or something!! 2004?!?!?!
+Thomas Fredrickson wait...ARE YOU FAWKING SERIOUS!!?!?
Well, blowing up the house was probably pretty expensive.
I'd be able to life for about 20 or more years with 600k$

Same.
Dafuq is wrong with you
Esperalis agreed.
So just a different film.
Get Rob Zombie on it and bring back Warwick Davis.
Warwick Davis throwing plates is the funniest thing I have seen today.
Undamagedaddyk
If only there was a crazy plate lady
My aunt is good friends with the director and I've met him on a couple occasions. The guy who plays plates is good friends with the director in real life and they have collaborated many times. That is why he's in his movies.
hektik1984 Then you must have an idea of when this movie was made? Because the release date don't fit what I saw...
We need an answer to this question:
“The fuck were they on when making this?”
Yeah, he did the Make Up for Leprechaun
It was a sin to have the SNES there without a game.

Gee, I always wanted to know what would happen if Jinzo was a serial killer instead of a Yu-Gi-Oh card.
Jinzo! He's one of the most powerful Digimon in the Kanto region!.... wait....

TheHeavyMetalBrony I agree completely.
Well, at least the surgeon general looks cool
Kyle Albert agreed.
Yup... looks cool.

Just subscribed to this guy about a month ago and I'm just casually watching his old videos. 2015 Phelous is so adorable. Haha I love it.
Welcome to the fan club😎
Hey Phelous ... 15:19 ... shouldn't that be Plate-tality???? ;)
TUPRBABE Haha, yeah probably.
Surgeon General as a character design seems wasted I think it wouldn't be too hard to make a proper slasher flick series with him if someone put a proper team and budget together.
I lowkey kinda like Plates. He reminds me of either A DC Villain or High Ranking henchman of one
Nasa Peepo Plates is my spirit animal.

For a horror film titled “Skinned Deep”, there was a severe lack of skinning.
I felt the same about Chinatown.
Good movie, but I honestly found myself asking, "When do we get to Chinatown?".
Honestly, the mask on the killer isn't awful, now only if it had a better movie....
And surgeon general IS a badass name for a killer (if only it had osmething to do with the character tough)
this is like an "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" episode
Yay! Phelous taught us our AB3's!
Woooo!
How the FUCK do you manage to make a Texas Chainsaw esque movie and make it look older than the original?
This movie look like it was filmed on a Late 60s/Early 70s 16mm Camera with a 1990 VCR RCA Camcorder for that silly Phil Rockwell vacation vlog bit.
Not going to lie, I laughed at Brain insisting to be called Brian. This set-up could be turned into a decent comedy in the hands of, you know, people with anything remotely resembling talent.
This whole movie should be renamed "Manos: The Jeepers Texas Hellraiser the 13th- Fury Road!"
17:45 he looks like a mix of Ernest Borgnine and Malcom McDowell
warwick davis plays a plate throwing maniac
Isn't that enought o make this movie worth watching?
I love how the one guy with acting chops in this movie seems to get the least lines
I do admire this movie for how memorably crazy and weird it is. It's bad, but it at least stands out.
That's the best kind of bad that something can be.
If someone doesn't like the SD, they can just say "It was during a time when I was into sadism and domination."
Crazy the creator was actually a pillarman the whole time
I always loved how seamless those shots where you have two of yourself in the same room. Classic review!
That "Whaaaat the fuck?!" line sums up this movie pretty well. It's also fucking hilarious the way that guy says it.
So this is where the "Why?" came from. xD
I'm going to get Warwick Davis to sign my dvd one day
Holy shit, dude ... some of the "major"cast went on to make another film together, Saint Bernard. (Brain, Plates & the sheriff)
Oh man, this review is a trip down memory lane. Still a talented creator to this day.
I think movies like this have a certain charm. You keep watching just because of how batshit crazy they are
Warwick Davis is like Nicholas Cage; he always makes his best effort, and is usually the most entertaining part of the movie.
12:35 they cast wabbafet from Pokemon?!
The question is not where was it made , it,s why was it made ?
It's like a weird, bad mix of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Freaks & Hellraiser. Warwick Davis must have really needed the money for being in this crap!
Love your videos dude..keep it up
15:19 made it all worth it.
The only reasonable explanation I can think of for this movie's existence is that the filmmakers watched Troll 2 and said, "Hold my beer."
Can't wait for the Hollywood remake.

Did the directors even try with this movie
11:58 This Guy look like if John Candy was trying to look like John Goodman.
Wait, I just noticed that it's not an axe, that's an ulu. You can even see the state of Alaska printed on it.

If I hadn't read it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed this came out in 2004. :/
As cheap and crappy as this movie looks, it's closer to a Resident Evil movie than the ACTUAL Resident Evil movies were.
8:00 lol A B 3
8:50 FINGER SOUP THAT IS! XD

A B 3 is now the way to make a multiple choice quiz.
...how in the fuck was this 1980s-looking film made in _2004_?
No way! How is that even possible?! The cast even look completely 80s!
