Useful vid. You should have seen the state of my radiator😮 Phase 1 cars with aircon are slightly different. There aren’t any bolts at the side of the aircon rad holding it the radiator. Instead, there are two screws at the top and bottom which fix into plastic fittings which insert into holes in the metal frame of the radiator. It doesn’t look like this factory radiator has these holes. The Nissens model I bought has all holes so is compible with phase 1 and 2 cars 👍
Thank you very much for the video. Seems pretty straight forward. You saved me some time by showing that you don‘t need to remove the bumber. Cheers mate
Haha correct! This video is edited but I did ease the bolt in and out numerous times as I could feel it starting to tighten whilst trying to remove it. Some you win and some you loose I suppose 😂😂
Great video again Rick! 👍🏻 Ended up powder coating my mount as stainless one wasn't available at the time! 🤦🏻♂️ Definitely the better option going down the stainless route! 👍🏻
nice vid, keep an eye out on EBay for the plastic wiring connector holder thingies, I found mine there just need to make some time to fit it. did the same job you're doing around 6 months back, replaced radiator as it was leaking. didn't replace the bottom bracket but treated and painted existing one which was just about usable - should last another 10 years or so..... also treated and painted fan shroud will be interesting to see how your one comes out after powder coating and priming. also slowly replacing all the engine bay screws and non-critical nuts and bolts with stainless steel replacements...
Came to see how it opens up. I will refresh the bottom bracket first. Order new radiator and check fan resistors. I have turbo stuff very close to the fan shroud like 1-2cm. Intercooler is in the left from there where 3.0 has air filter housing. Thanks for the video.

Thanks, might give this a go, my rad died after the cold snap, makes sense to sort the lower bracket too
Ahhh, snapped bolts the bane of every refresh on an old Italian motor. I found after soaking i would try tightening 1st before removal.

Sounds like a nice project 👍🏼
oh..so I just found out I don't have fan resistors lol....Unhook the bonnet release cable from the drivers side Rick, gives a little more room :)
Good job Rick. Whilst you're at that end of the car, how about removing the front bumper and taking a look at the front chassis members?
Yes I will be doing that. At least eventually. I will explain more in the next video 👍🏼
I’ve got one of the plastic radiator top mount
Could you contact me via email please? ricksgarage916@yahoo.com

Where did you buy the stainless steel radiator mount from?.. great video btw👍 I have the same job coming up
Totally Alfa do them. Just look up in Google.
Hi guys. I have posted a link in the video description 👍🏼
Great job👍
Wish someone did a stainless replacement for my Corrado radiator support panel ... it’s a sorry state.
Grea5 vid 👍
