Since his return from the IL in mid-June he’s been one of the hottest (if not THE hottest) hitter in baseball. It’s been really fun watching him become better and back to his MVP level

Belli is such a fun player to watch. He just looks like he's going out there any having fun. And seems like a genuinely great guy too. So glad to have him on our Cubs. Hopefully for more than 1 season

Great to see him back to in form. They letting him play 1st base too! As great as he is in the outfield, he's special at 1st base.
lol the guy can catch some difficult balls as outfielder, has an average speed for that and is tall. Why use him as a 1st base? 1st base do nothing almost the time on defense
@@gabrielgreff5911 He won his gold glove at right field, but his athleticism allows him to play all 3 positions in the outfield as well as first base. I watched him on the dodgers for years make plays at 1st look routine that not many others could make. Problem was keep diving in the infield on dirt and ended up jacking up his shoulders, FO decided to exclusively play him in center and right to avoid him further injuring his shoulder. My point was check out some of his defensive highlights at 1st, belli could definitely have been a perennial gold glover at 1st. Excellent hands, ridiculous range which saved so many runs by preventing errors. He made Justin Turner and Max Muncy passable at 3rd and saved the infielders Seager and Lux (who was having the yips) many errors. He's just damn good on Defense at multiple positions and glad to see him back.

While he doesn’t have enough time to really push for MVP, I firmly believe he would be a 2nd or 3rd place finish if he didn’t miss that bit of time. Acuna is special, and Freeman has consistently been one of the best hitters for the past decade, but ignoring time played, Belli should be right up there with them this year.
Man, he's having an amazing bounce back campaign in a year where Acuña is trying to make history. Last year we had Ohtani vs Judge for the AL MVP, and this year, Belli vs Acuña for the NL MVP (which will probably go to Acuña, but damn this race is going to be interesting)

He'll get some 1st place votes if the Cubs win the division or earn a wild card spot just because they weren't supposed to be good.
Only thing possibly hurting Acuna's chances is that he has other good players on his team helping the Braves win games. Bellinger has pretty much carried the Cubs offense until recently.

What direction is that team heading. Imagine if he had better pitching & a smaller market to boot. Yes he will get paid, if I'm him I'd wanna go with who has the best overall roster top to bottom & I don't know if ChiTown fits that bill. Definitely not competing with the Braves & Dodgers of the world. He best bet might be to switch leagues but who knows.

Sorry I’m a big Cardinals fan always have been. It was hard to watch them this year. It was hard to watch the NL Central Cody really made it. Interesting though. I was a left-handed hitter in baseball left-handed pitcher left-handed centerfielder I saw his at bat in this video. Lefty on lefty matchup and Julio. Urias throws a pull side fastball that catches a big part of the plate.
I don’t know any left-handed hitter, who is not dominant to the right field side who is not dominant as a pull hitter we’ve seen Cody and Harper and Otani and seager all hit oppo bombs they much rather pull a fastball than a weight on a slow sweeping curveball
