Hibiscus Tea is a very rich drink packed with antioxidants.
To give added nutrients, the condiments I used are:
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Cinnamon
- Black Pepper (known for its anti-inflammatory properties)
- Cloves
- 2 slices of lemon without seeds
- 2 slices of oranges without seeds (Both are for citrus boost)
- Peel Ginger, if you want, then using a mortar and pestle, mash gently alongside the garlic, black pepper, and cloves.
- As with vegetables, the hibiscus leaves may come slightly dirty, so rinse and scoop with hands into pot of water to avoid sand particles in the tea.
- Add condiments and allow to simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Allow it to cool off, then drain with a fine mesh sieve.
- Add sweetener of choice - pineapple juice, honey or orange juice.
- Serve in a glass with ice cubes for that refreshing feeling.
