Scouting & a door knock, turns into an afternoon of Metal detecting on this 1800’s permission

A visit with Ryan of ‪@hoardoftherings‬ at his vacation rental, turns into a day of detecting fun.
When Ryan and I knocked on this 1800’s Farmhouse door. A turn for the worse took place when we heard the home owner fall over inside his home. The door locked we seemed helpless until the owners father opened it asking for help to get his son back up and onto a chair.
Once we knew everything was alright we then asked and gained permission to detect this 1800’s farm only to discover the owner had much more property that we originally had bargained for. We have been granted permission to come back and try our luck on other parts of the property which olds old areas where homes once stood long ago and only overgrown indentations in the ground remain.
The homeowner (Jamie) was so knowledgeable of the history of the area, and extremely helpful to direct us to areas with great potential for detecting enthusiasts. I look forward to going back and meeting with Jamie again in the near future.
