Freeze them and take them to Alaska for Bear food! The Salmon would love you for it! Just fly overhead and throw the frozen carp out to the Bears! Take them to Texas to feed the Wild Hogs tearing up Texas Farms! I am sure the Wild piggies would enjoy a good Fish Dinner Daily they would not need to tear up the ground for food it would also fertilize the Countryside.

In addition, I heard they didn't start jumping until they were introduced to the U.S.A. Any vibration in the water drives them wild and they begin jumping can be dangerous to boaters.

In Malaysia, a particular variety of carp, Hoven's carp, is known as Sultan Fish by the locals. The rulers of the land long ago were Sultans and they sure knew how to appreciate this fish! This particular fish is prized for the incredibly soft and delicate meat texture as well as the sweet flavour profile. I myself have tasted this fish and can say for certain that it cannot compare to any river fish out there. It does not have the usual muddy smell and taste of a freshwater fish.
Here in South East Asia, this fish would be steamed to preserve the amazingly delicate flavour and texture of the meat. Then served with finely sliced pieces of ginger, shallots, red chilli, rock sugar, and Kikoman soy sauce, as is normally the case for how we like to serve steamed fish.
And yes, this fish would cost a lot of money in a restaurant in this part of the world. Around USD 100 if you were to order this in a restaurant!

as with any fish with alot of bones the best way to handle is to fillet and put the fillet through a meat grinder with the smallest grinding plate available. what this does is this makes the bones so tiny it renders them harmless, and as a fish patty it makes it easy to add spices and flavorings ,have done this with other carp and pike and it works great and tastes awesome !! this is a good thing that these carp taste good and are usable it would not be cool otherwise as in keeping the population in check

We pressure cook the fillets until the bones are soft enough to eat... only catch is the fillets fall apart. We then use a hamburger press to reform the fish into patties and then fry. These carp are actually pretty good if you stay out of the red meat...but they are a lot of trouble to prepare

They are sacred. They move a little bit. The balloon inside itself expands because of the release of the water pressure when the fish move upward. That makes the fish lighter in the water, and floating up. This causes the expanding of the balloon more, and ultimately, the fish jump up uncontrollable. The same with the fish that move down, that make them go under the mud at the bottom of the river. This does not happen with the fish that have no balloon in their belly.

Just fish them all and ship them back to Asia (for the markets of course)!
With the economy of size, it'll actually be profitable to ship them to markets in Asia, especially to China since these carps aren't from polluted waters so there'll be a good demand from them.

  • @FelisTerras
    @FelisTerras 5 лет назад +3

I wonder, if a tent-like contraption on either side of an according fishing boat would not help catch more of the carps in one go? Since they're one of, if not the only species, which jump this high and directly towards the boats, it would also minimize the risk of catching other, endagered species along wih them. Plus, great food source. Don't let them go to waste, just because they got more bones than other fishes.

We must be the dumbest animals on this planet. Even though some nut introduced these fish into our waterways is a blessing. for one thing they are huge free great tasting fish. They have been chinese cuisine for centuries and I think their delicious. Also deep fried in fish &chips is great. Dried and used to feed millions all over the world wouldn't hurt either.Fish sauce has been a staple of asian cooking forever and fertilizer can be a by product USE YOUR HEADS

The diversity is good for US rivers and streams, they occupy niches that American fish don't.

Asking a boater to clean and dry their boat is as bad as asking an irresponsible camper to avoid forest fires by totally dousing their fire with water. Putting up warning with VERY stiff fines for abusers

fish broth is way more nutritionally dense then beef or chicken. and it doesn't have bones.... the solids would be amazing for garden soil and feeding livestock like chickens, ducks, and pigs. if Americans are picky about bones.. there are so many ways to use fish then just eating it's flesh.

Edit: So many ppl won't eat silver carp because of the bones. they're too lazy to pick the bones out of the fish. ppl nowadays eat fast food or on the restaurant.

It's not just that... these fish are literally putting native species in danger because they're too aggressive and take territorial.

here in Asia we have need to presto it first so the bones will smoother no need to pick the small bones anymore 👌

I think the only predator that's natural thinking at is Bald eagles actually see eagles that eat fish though and ospreys but since they are going these fish are going out of control I can see why a lot of people don't want to eat it cuz it's too bony or but food chain of survival to wroth a price.

A species that protects the area, in this case water from human invasion.
And keeps from being eaten from having too little of bones.
One day boats won't be able to make passage and fisherman will run in shaking in their waders fear of the mighty protective carp.
The human solution to the laughter these fish create is kill them.
    Comedians beware, you're next.

They are destroying the ecology way worse than any boater or fisherman so therefore they are the exact opposite of "protecting" the river.
