It's cool to learn more about you. You have done a lot for the fish keeping community and I will always appreciate the role you played in my own fish keeping journey.
Your wrong bro, it wasnt luck. Im sure it played a small role in your success on youtube. But most of this that you have achieved and accomplished is because of the work you've put into your channels, the person you are, your energy you put out in your videos, etc.etc.etc... I could go on and on but my point being is that even with all the luck in the world without the right person and the right work ethic channeling the right drive into the right directions you wouldnt have came so far. But you have gotten were you are because of what you've done, the choices youve made and the work youve put into it all. You made this all happen and deserve the credit behind it all bro. Thanks for sharing and keep the content coming, whether its Fish tank reviews, aquascaping, food related or venting about life. If your down to create the content and share it then we're here for it man.
Hey Chris, glad you are happy and finally free, been a fan of fish for thought for years, hopefully this was a safe space for you to reveal all your thoughts and feelings, really glad for you!
This reminds me of the MIT spine surgeon who quit his job video that went viral a few months back lol. Fish tanks and pokemon cards… i like your style brother. Good on you for doing what you think is best for you!
2nd , Hey Chirs! Your a really amazing person never give up, thanks for sharing this with us I wish u a long and successful life. Thanks for all the Fishkeeping content you shared with us and still do! 😁
Very good. I've followed your journey for years both in fish and food. It's been a chapter changer of a year for sure. You've got this. Follow the positivity and trust yourself.
Proud of you dude, you got this 😊 and dope to hear you talk all about the things you studied naming things etc. and all the other things, good to see that part of you
It is wonderful to hear you talk about your experience. It's true that it is very difficult to disentangle intrinsic job satisfaction from the feeling of being adequately rewarded for it. There is some pleasure that comes from being appreciated, and from having the financial means to look after your children, parents etc. I will say that I think one of the reasons you have been successful is that the way you communicate makes you very easy to relate to. By the way, my son and I are having a screenshot of our FTR 4.55/5 framed above our aquarium. Thank you!
Been watching your fishkeeping videos for months! The algorithm brought me here I'm glad I get to see you at the beginning of this exciting career change. Can't wait to see what you create!
So glad you are who are man. And that you shared your life with us cause it’s so reassuring to hear there are others Iike is and opening up. I resonate with this so hard.

This was awesome! I so enjoyed this video and learning more about you. I love hearing how you thought everything through in making your decision. I love Fish For Thought and look forward to it every Monday. You are very entertaining, such a great sense of humor! I will need to check out your food channel! Thanks so much for making this video. Very enlightening and thought provoking 😊
Honestly bro, I have been watching your fish keeping vids, and I know you got this! I spent my childhood alone pretty much and just doing different hobbies. I keep ants, not fish but I have learned a lot in your videos. I have been kicking around the idea of making a channel, just for my hobbies. Wood carving, ants, Pokémon, music, movies, creating, writing, Dungeons and dragons and some other stuff. I’ll keep watching whatever channel you make, I believe in you my guy!
this is hilarious because when I was in the fish hobby, you're channels was the only one I watched... the I stopped and went into pokemon tcg about a year ago, and here you are... hahaha
Everyone who wants to help the environment should be able to. Capitalism doesn't prioritize the right things. It's awesome you did that and it sucks it wasn't a viable option for you.
Idk where you’re at but nature tour guides are very popular in foreign countries and a RUclipsr like your self could easily start that going in the us!
I do it but as a hobby for my friends whenever they want a nature walk. I might extend that one day to more of the public but I honestly don't want to charge for it
This world is so F---D man. People like you, have this passion and energy and desire to preserve nature... and the world chews you up. I work in a botanical garden for minimum wage. The only reason i can do it, is because I live in an apartment from my grandma. I also live in Europe - I used to live in Australia - same problem with housing prices. AND the DRIVING! god that 2 hours of driving is psycho. Now i ride a bike most of the year and public transport when the weather turns.
Yep, you went into one of the areas where you have to pay the passion tax. The people who do ecology do it because they love it so they don’t need to pay well to attract good talent. Gotta say i think you would be a great youtube science communicator. I am a scientist myself and it is rare to find people with the passion, knowledge and personality to communicate well with general audiences
Hey man, you should pre-order a surging sparks pokemon center etb for 59.99+tax or pre-order a few and keep them closed for awhile. Good luck on your journey ✌️
This was an awesome video, I've felt the same way for a long time too and working for myself is my ultimate goal too. Never give up on yourself and keep working everyday to be the best version of yourself!
As someone told me and keeps telling me. Research and science is not for the rich. It's hard, unpaid and free willing work that most people are unaware of. Important is that you have a degree and can always go back in the field. Explore your life, be happy. That's sometimes most important!!
i get what you mean regarding the driving part,im in Australia like canda everything is far from each other, it's not just driving, its hours of your daily life spent in a car on roads
So you do have not enough spare time to collect the cards, when you are free from work in the evening and weekends? How will you be able to pay the bills now? I hope you made the right choice.
It's cool to learn more about you. You have done a lot for the fish keeping community and I will always appreciate the role you played in my own fish keeping journey.
I feel you about commuting. Turns an 8 hour work day into 10.
This video got recommended to me, I had no idea this channel existed. It’s nice to hear what’s going on with the Chirs from time to time.

I used to work in theater, and every job was a short term, seasonal gig. The hardest part was always looking for the next job.
so weird seeing this randomly recommended to me, like 'wait this is chris right ?'
As a biology dropout this video hit hard 😢 and it hit every single spot
Glad to have been on-point, comforting to hear it's not just my own experience
Have fun dude limitless potential
You can turn your expertise into a RUclips channel. A lot of people (including me) would like to know what you know.
i get what you mean regarding the driving part,im in Australia like canda everything is far from each other, it's not just driving, its hours of your daily life spent in a car on roads
It sucks that the economy is not helping at all either
Makes me a bit worried about my future if I’m pursuing zoology and other similar fields.
what are you views on aquariums
Chris, I think you'd enjoy bonsai.
I found an old box of unopened Pokemon cards the other day. I just threw them out cause I don't think I could use them in a new deck.
Yep u don't get paid for traveling back n forth to work
addiction
So you do have not enough spare time to collect the cards, when you are free from work in the evening and weekends?
How will you be able to pay the bills now?
I hope you made the right choice.
I think you may have not watched the video, but it's okay I understand, it's a long-winded one!
@@PokeWang I'm sorry, yes i did not watch the entire video.
But i will do that right away.
Thanks for your reply
Can someone post tldr about what his job was and what it was like?
Did you quite recently? I’m sure most people understand the 9-5 dread existence.
