It's back! This video had vanished, but now it's back! :') This is definitely one of the most wonderful sounds in the entire universe. Andrew Bird is pure magic.
+Kevin Allen I find myself moving between both. I'll leave it alone for a while then obsess over it again for a while. With headphones on man it's pure eargasm. The strings at the end are one of the only things I've heard that can bring me to tears pretty much every time.
what i get a kick outta him the most is that he always changes the tempo and the flow of his songs when he does a live performance. it's tough to make a song seem like something totally different, but still make it sound like nothing's changed. well done andrew.
Going to see him for my fourth time this summer in Boston. Every time he puts on a great show!! Andrew if you're reading this we'd love to see you play Lowell at the old mill building again!!
Will see Andrew Bird live in 1 week in great venue. Third time. Once saw him solo in a very small venue, but he only played for 35 minutes. He and 2 other musicians/bands were stepping in for a cancelled show. The sad thing was he played for shortest time and was, far far and away, much better than the 2 groups that followed him. He's put on a fantastic live show each time. Love introducing people to his music. Just keep spreading the word.
dude where can I get a copy of this. I used to watch this over and over again...rediscovered/remembered it out of the blue and it's as amazing as it was the first time I heard it
@BirdTheJunior i heard him on world cafe today and he said as a child he was a classical musci geek, lol but got into high school and moved into other areas. David Dye asked what he liked of pop he said the White Album and some Dylan stuff. Glad his mom or whoever encouraged such a talent...
So I was flicking through the channels late one night, and accidentally stumbled across this performance. I lay on the couch, under a blanket, and just watched in awe as he picked up that violin and played the most beautiful piece of music ever to come out of my television set. This, my friends, is what it sounds like to put love into your music.
I always listen to musicans like Radiohead, Andrew Bird, ect. who have the quiet patience to feel the music that when it comes out it's just utter inspiration that brings with it it's own aspirations and warmth, it's simply beautiful.
This isn't your song This isn't your music How can they be wrong When by committee they choose it all? They choose it all You're gonna grow old You're gonna grow cold Bearing signs on the avenue For your own personal Waterloo You're bearing signs on the avenue For your own personal Waterloo now We'll fight, we'll fight We'll fight for your music halls and dying cities They'll fight, they'll fight They'll fight for your neural walls and plasticities And precious territory This isn't our song This isn't even a musical I think life is too long To be a whale in a cubicle Nails under your cuticle Gonna grow old You're gonna grow so cold Before this song can deliver you You're bearing signs on the avenue You're bearing signs For your own personal Waterloo now We'll fight, we'll fight We'll fight for your music halls and dying cities They'll fight, they'll fight They'll fight for your neural walls and plasticities And precious territory
Every note, a prayer; time unwound; eternal life, travelers.
His violin solo at the end just makes me want to cry.
how does this only have 15,000 views...he's a musical mastermind and the whole world should listen to him.
It's back! This video had vanished, but now it's back! :')
This is definitely one of the most wonderful sounds in the entire universe. Andrew Bird is pure magic.

+Kevin Allen I find myself moving between both. I'll leave it alone for a while then obsess over it again for a while. With headphones on man it's pure eargasm. The strings at the end are one of the only things I've heard that can bring me to tears pretty much every time.

How can anyone dislike this, it's so perfect.
Mesmerizing, this never gets old.
Damn. Once he stops singing and starts looping the violin, that's just pure mesmerizing.
Damn. I am always amazed by his live performances. His timing is ridiculously spot on and groovy, too.
Going to see him for my fourth time this summer in Boston. Every time he puts on a great show!! Andrew if you're reading this we'd love to see you play Lowell at the old mill building again!!
Far beyond the word 'beautiful', beyond any words... well at least in my vocabulary... it's PRECIOUS TERRITORY indeed ❤
This song makes me fall in love with music again.
it's like he conducts himself with the shaking of his head.
a nervous tic motion of the head
Yeah!
He actually said in an interview that the whole time he’s performing, he’s counting in his head
Andrew Bird.The Big Chill 2009.Sunday afternoon.A beautiful summer's day.Amazing vibe! I was there.
One of the single greatest displays of musical talent. Can;t say I'm a huge fan, but I appreciate his work and always come back to this video
Coming from an 11 year old who is surrounded by awful songs playing all day, this is so awesome :'D
now that you're older, do you still feel this way about music? just curious
about Andrew Bird’s music, specifically.
So euphoric.
I'll be seeing him on the 6th in Boulder, CO. If he doesn't play this live, I'll cry.

Es un genio.
4:18, my goodness is that wonderfully beautiful.
what a beautiful song my dude!
He's one of those musicians who sound better live than they do in their album recordings.
I feel alive when hear this version of the song.
This is my feel sad, want to feel happy song.
my brain is melting.
OMFG!
the best
gives me goosebumps once his voice hits the mic
Muy bueno lo tuyo "Gran pájaro silbador" !
I always listen to musicans like Radiohead, Andrew Bird, ect. who have the quiet patience to feel the music that when it comes out it's just utter inspiration that brings with it it's own aspirations and warmth, it's simply beautiful.
now its eleven, this song is just too good for them to handle.
This isn't your song
This isn't your music
How can they be wrong
When by committee they choose it all?
They choose it all
You're gonna grow old
You're gonna grow cold
Bearing signs on the avenue
For your own personal Waterloo
You're bearing signs on the avenue
For your own personal Waterloo now
We'll fight, we'll fight
We'll fight for your music halls and dying cities
They'll fight, they'll fight
They'll fight for your neural walls and plasticities
And precious territory
This isn't our song
This isn't even a musical
I think life is too long
To be a whale in a cubicle
Nails under your cuticle
Gonna grow old
You're gonna grow so cold
Before this song can deliver you
You're bearing signs on the avenue
You're bearing signs
For your own personal Waterloo now
We'll fight, we'll fight
We'll fight for your music halls and dying cities
They'll fight, they'll fight
They'll fight for your neural walls and plasticities
And precious territory
Wow
I respect people that don´t think like me, I just can´t respect people who don´t think at all - the ones who disliked this video

Now that is what u call a freestyle ladies and gentlemen!
just stumbled on this from Shaws' ""Arms and the Man"...never heard of Andrew Bird but really nice intro to him.
not to sound mean but some of his live music sounds sooooo much better than his studio recordings. This one for instance.....Amazing!
Adrian Salas I agree 100%
ALWAYS he's just better live.
@MusicTheAccount I totally agree.
what if andrew bird was literally a bird once
That'd explain the whistling.
what if this comment was a bird once
Craw?
What if he was a Ndrew once?
What if we all had wings just once
@r92cab I agree! He looks so nice in it.
@amrohijjawi both amazing musicians!
I like the way he sang it on the studio version better, but the intro loops here were perfect.
Hah. I love how he just kicked off his slippers near the end.
I had this song with the volume way up and the birds all came to my window
