    I didn't like the bass on my Tannoy XT8F's. However, I installed 16 bass traps in my listening room and now they sound superb. Listening room acoustic treatment is the key to excellent sound.

      I hear that! Room treatment is really key. I am looking at ATS bass traps myself.

      Seriously though, I think some 'audiophiles' hear stuff which just isn't there....or buy stuff they think they need.....or stuff which just simply boosts their ego's and impresses their neighbours. Even then, are they really satisfied? There's always some snake oil that tempts them. I think it's called 'upgrade-itis'.

    Bought the fyne f501 dark oak for £649 here in the UK, along with the matching dark oak f500c centre for £199, paired with a bk-electronics-p12-300sb-pr-subwoofer.
    I just don't know what av receiver to go for, I am looking at the denon s760h, 960h, x1700h, x1800h, x2700h, x2800h.
    Thought and thanks for the video.

    Hi Rohit... the Fyne Audio F-501 is super expensive here in India. However the bookshelf version F-500 is affordable and cheaper compared to 501. Will the F-500s be a good option to buy? Will it provide all those audiophile elements such as imaging, soundstaging and resolution similar to F-501? Bass slam will be less offcourse. Please let me know your thoughts.

      F500 being stand-mounts will most likely display superior imaging and soundstaging … IMHO

      I do not have any Tube Amplifier with me. Instead, I have an entry level model Marantz PM5005, a Yamaha network receiver R-N602 and Quad Vena. I hope some of these will pair well with Fyne F-501. Also, the speakers that I am currently using are Tannoy Eclipse 3 and Fyne Audio F-302 floor standers.

    • @analogholic_reviews
      @analogholic_reviews  3 года назад

      The quad Vena, the budget Marantz and the Yamaha receiver are all very decent amplifiers. And so is the Fyne F302. I love Tannoys as well but have not heard that model in particular. The size of your listening room will determine which amp suits the best.

      The Fyne 501 you have is the normal one or SP2 version? I heard that the SP2 version is more like hand made and more premium. Unfortunately SP2 is not available in India. But it will be further expensive.

    • @analogholic_reviews

      The review pair was the non-sp.version. The sp version is indeed better made with boutique caps in the crossover and better enclosures. And yes, they sound significantly better across the freq spectrum as I have heard them several times at my buddy's showroom. They are also significantly more expensive.

    how did you find them on the laminate flooring? Any bass boominess?

    • @analogholic_reviews

      Didn’t bass bloat an issue on laminate, wood, tiled or concrete floors. Bass boominess could present itself when placed too close to front wall.
