I was there ! A song that is rarely performed in Japan tremendous and I get goosebumps all over my body I want everyone to have the same experience ! thank you nice reaction and looking forward to the next
Nice reaction. Su creates such a cool ethereal effect with her voice on this song. You can really see why Moa says when Su sings it's like an angel came down.
Su rarely sings while holding the microphone with both hands. Her face is also flushed. It shows how even for a genius like her, it takes an incredible amount of energy to sing this song live.
Actually this song was performed along with Syncopation in the middle of setlist during Doomsday III and IV, but i get what you said about the vibes on this one, just remember this song when next album or new singles comes out. This is a long time waited proshot version for the fans, song was pushed to be performed again after many years and being played only one time at Hollywood Paladium in 2017 while on US tour when YuiMetal was still in the group, sadly for copyright disputes that proshot version never saw the light and we only have fancams of that. Thankfully they performed this last year at 10 Babymetal Years Budokan, and surprised everyone with this astonishing and beautiful production. Momoko Okazaki was the avenger helping to fill the third spot and she did a great job. Also the English lyrics is a little bit more clear thanks to Papa Xan from BMRR (although this version is from a weird edit so it's not the original clip, that's why you don't get blocked), but we don't have official lyrics yet, is one out of three songs with full English lyrics. Like someone said before, MoaMetal is like a body subtitles for this song. Anyway thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥
And totally agree with you about this choreo being so graceful, the atmosphere, the light effects and production on this is top notch, you can notice with this song from second album they started to show a mature side. And like i told you on your Syncopation reaction, this song was released for International album version, while Syncopation was the Japanese exclusive track. I guess it makes sense to have these songs in the same live performance set.🦊🤘
This is so different from other BabyMetal songs. So many reactors are trying to think of some suitable words to describe the performance of this song. Then they will find that happy, funny, playful, energetic, heavy, joyful and even beautiful are not enough to describe it. Thanks for your great reaction.♥️
awesome reaction. FDTD is just a beautiful song and with those visual from the Budokan is amazing . i notice you haven't done a reaction to Babymetal - Death Legend 1997 (complete) . normally used to start a concert but the Legend 1997 Concert was special and it was used as the ending .
Good reaction. You have all the important facts about this song and how rarely it has been performed - and yes that was Su singing and yes she was singing words (its all in English, the Reactor Resource is probably closer than any previous attempts to work out exactly what the lyrics are).
Oh yes Su really hits that high note there and shows just more of what she is capable of 😁 goosebumps and chills when she hits it and Moa's vocals allso just getting better all the time . BabyMetal supprises you yet again 😁🤘🦊🤘
I can't imagine even standing up in that astonishing light show stage. Let alone being so graceful and beautifully choreographed or singing so perfectly. Mesmerising.
Su's voice is like a straight line. But it's soo powerful it pierced through every heavy barriers in their music. Which is why it works. She's definitely one of the best live performer in heavy metal music.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🌅 People that know about Su's singing, know. A lot of folks still don't. I was at the June 16th, 2017 Hollywood Palladium concert where this song had its live premiere. Apparently there were rights issues that prevented the pro-shot footage from the Palladium concert from being released. It wasn't until February 2021 that they performed the song again. The ten Budokan 2021 concerts (January to April) were their most recent shows, and the only performances that year. They took the song to an entirely different level. Wish I had been there for either of those two shows where they brought it back. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' was on the international edition of the second album, 'Metal Resistance'. The domestic (Japanese) edition had 'Syncopation' instead.
Great reaction as always, thanks! The technique is called falsetto and yes, she's speaking words. 😁 Su's voice is a precious musical instrument. This is a very unusual and rare song. And not only because of its composition and genre (dream trance mixed with metal) but also due its live performances history. Being this song way out of my alley, I totally love all about this one. And I don't have a special reason. It's just... perfect!
Great stuff. This is a bit of a masterpiece. Su is singing entirely in English but the actual lyrics have never been officially published to leave the song deliberately enigmatic. Moa’s backing vocals are beautiful too but Su’s control and tone are quite remarkable. A beautiful and elegant piece of choreography is the cherry on top of a beautiful performance.
Graceful is a great one word description for the song and performance 👊🏽⚡️I would add two other words. Angelic and epic. Very similar feel as the last release, “Divine attack”..
Dude I like your reactions to BABYMETAL more than any others I have seen and I have seen a lot. Like you I got heavily into them, though its been a few years. Unlike you I am 60 yrs old 4 kids 2 of them are 17. I know you will eventually hear the entire BABYMETAL catalog. I also heard you say you know the day will come when you will get to the last one. That may be a long time off if you allow yourself to hear the same song from different live shows. For example there is a version of headbanger that is sung partly if not entirely by Moa. another by Yui. I'm sure you get requests for a bunch of reactions. here is my suggestion. There is a video titled "Everything you need to know about BABYMETAL- a babymetal guide" also a shorter one called "a beginners guide to BABYMETAL" I am not suggesting you react to these although you wouldn't be the first. You would learn a lot about origin. Lastly, here are two Solo Su songs do both back-to-back on one reaction video Both songs are called Akatsuki. Cmon I'm 60 years old listen to an old man. 2014 live budokan ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html&start_radio=1 and live 2013 from legend 1997. ruclips.net/video/-Mh5nrXIw6s/видео.html
Nice reaction, FDTD was the first all English song for BM, included in the international version of Metal Resistance instead of Syncopation, featured only on the Japanese album. There are no official lyrics for this one, that was performed only once with YUI. We had to wait for Budokan X to see FDTD live again, the very version you watched. It's among my favorites, and ... my ringtone 😅! 🤘🏻🦊⚡
When you see Su holding her mic with two hands you know even for her this is really hard. Her voice is her instrument and FDTD is one of the hardest songs to perform (done live exactly 3 times). It is haunting and beautiful and really shows the range and ability Su has to use her voice. I understand when it was performed at the Budokan III show the audience went into hushed awe. Personally it is one of my favourite songs. (It is also the only BM to have solely English lyrics - BM have two other songs with English lyrics but they have Japanese versionsas well. These are The One and Elevator Girl - and as a side not if you do do Elevator Girls PLEASE use the Japanese version.)
The lyrics to this song are somewhat ambiguous, but the choreo, especially the hand movements, bring the meaning of the words out. There's nothing random in this one.
I think Elevator Girl would be a fun one to do next. If you're up for jumping through some hoops to work around copyright blocks, the version on the Babymetal Reactor Resource would be great. Otherwise, the channel 'ferr' has the best compilations. Actually there is _one_ compilation that's better than ferr's: The Epic Experience of Babymetal. It uses Distortion, which you've already heard, but the video is a showcase of cool moments from all of their live shows, not just performances of that song. It's very well put together and I would recommend checking it out if that sounds interesting to you.
i am big fan of babymetal, but this song is new for me. wtf?! i also checked this song in spotify and it was deleted/not avaliable. strange :( i like BM, because every song is different.
Personally, I'm not convinced that any vocals in this song are really sung live, especially the first verse. But one never knows with Su, she has proven more than once that she is a miracle.

Edit: can I know which interview Moa says that?

Su's instrument, the voice, has the most beautiful tone in the world. Moa's chorus here is also very effective.
