Nate has a point. Dana doesn’t pay fighter as much as the best boxers, but he pays 700 different fighters, more than any other promoter. He also gives the most fight bonuses then any other organization.
Boxing also loses around 10M every pay per view fight. Thats why the arabs had to buy the sport. Them oil sheiks the only ones willing to lose millions just to watch a good fight. Boxing is a declining sports now though unfortunately

He was literally complaining about his 20 + 20 deal for nearly a year before he fought Michael Johnson. He almost retired until his after fight interview with Joe Rogan. He already had 20 fights in the UFC at that time and one of the lowest paid fighters. Overeem, who was 3-3 at that same fight card, was already getting paid $500k. Nate couldn’t even afford to go to camp and was teaching kids Jiu Jitsu to get by. Check your sources.

Sports entertainment shouldn’t really be paid that much. Now education systems teachers our law enforcement for better training and a Vetting process so you can make sure no nut cases get a badge is where the money should be going. IMHO

i always say this..dana white is the front man. i really dont think he gives a fuck about money any more, he has made enough that he is good for 7 generations. the way he still carries the ufc shows me that he just loves the sport and the company but at the same time since he was very young he has always been a super loyal dude. and people like fertitas and now comapnies like endevor just use him as a face to take all the blame. if it was really up to him i think he would be ok with paying the fighters.

@@kc006 "the ufc sucks" maybe at paying fighters but the product is far superior to boxing rn so lets not even compare that..and to ur other point of dana owning the company, he had 10 percent of the share the entire time. that doesnt give u control over the company, the best he could do is bonuses for fighters which he does to this day. the payment infrastrucute even back then was controlled by the fertitas, he was always the front man. nowadays he has even lesser power as he doesnt own anything in the company and just works with them. he does do one thing though where he will always defend his company over this matter which is still wrong but i kind of understand it as loyalty is a huge thing for him.

There wasn’t any money in mma fighting until Dana and Fertitta Brothers took over. They created an industry and way for all these guys to make money doing what they love. If it wasn’t for them they’d all be getting stiffed by promoters still. Nates suing the guys who put on their last boxing event because this very reason. UFC is the best place for a fighter and checks always cash.

@@kc006 The information is out there if you actually look at it. Prelim fighters get paid 5 to 10 times more in the UFC compared to in boxing. But the main event fighters in boxing can make 10 times more than the main event fighters in the UFC. So Nate is right. In boxing, the top players make a ton of money, but everyone under them make peanuts. In the UFC, the money is distributed through the whole card more generously. So the top players don't make as much, but the guys under them aren't getting crumbs either. Unranked UFC fighters no one knows of make more money than Floyd Mayweather did in his early days. The actual issue with the UFC is how much of the revenue goes to the fighters versus the company (a company that is a proper business with hundreds of employee salaries, business expenses, and investment shares).

Only thing I think the UFC should do is raise some of the bonuses higher that were 50k since the start of ufc. If you raise fight of the night to like 250k thatll make every fighter go for subs and kos raise a few of the bonuses only a couple the ones that matter at least like fotn etc and yeah youll get better fights it gives people something to strive for besides the belt and their pay

I can walk in for 10k & be happy af but you've never heard of me, Im no good, & I'm not selling ppv so why would I get more than 10k for 15 mins work?... now if I go in & blast a crazy ko & everybody wants my next fight ppv (like khamzat's story) then I ask for more money.. you have to earn your next payday/ bigger contract imo. If your boring but winning, you'll get there with a great record, but takes longer.. go in & impress Dana, the media & RUclips clips, the fans, the hype & ppv/ draw will come quicker.

Unfortunately UFC functions as a business. They are the most sought after organization in the industry to join. So they have talent lined up out the door. As long as they pay a little above market value of all the competitors. They’ll still win because they’re still the highest bidders. Until there comes a real organization to really challenge UFC, they will continue their monopoly & keep the pay to bare minimum because there’s no where else u can go as MMA to really become a global superstar besides OneFC & they’re far from behind.

If you're a UFC fighter you can go to their PI's every single day and get free training, free recovery help and free food. That alone if used properly is worth thousands of dollars each month. Its probably about $500 a day in total value if you use it all... and as a UFC contracted fighter you can. So when you add that up, its massive and its direct savings in your pocket as a fighter.
That is in Las Vegas. Not a lot of fighters live close to there.
