Those that attack people like this guys, mustn’t be very educated on how life changes... what once was a suitable and loving home, suddenly changed and unfortunately could fit in the sweet hamster. The kindest and caring thing they could do next as an owner, was find her a suitable Forster and rescue to go to .. so hats off to them
Exactly. I had a cat for a few years. I suddenly lost my job and the cat got really sick. I couldn't afford vet bills for him, let alone my rent. So I found a rescue to take him and they found a wonderful home for him. It hurt so much to have to give up my little guy but that was the best choice for him to get the care he needed that I couldn't afford.
Thanks for asking people not to criticize or attack those who relinquish their pets. The man didn't have a choice but to relinquish Flower. I was angry when the friend with whom I left my kitty with gave him to a co worker of hers. The new owner took very good care of my cat. I went to a homeless shelter for a while and I couldn't take the cat with me. I was hoping to find a place where I can bring my cat along with me. That must be difficult to part with Flower.
Glad he made the decision to rehome little flower he obviously loved her you can tell he did his research just a shame, hope you guys find her a good home My robo simba is a big boy at 36 grams!
People who say "well I was about to help your cause but because you've refused to submit to me I'm not going to help" are lying. The people who say this were NEVER intending to help in the first place. This is literally 100% a power trip, 100% of the time, and it's very commonly seen by charity organizations.
Aww look at her run at the end of the video. ❤️ It's so sad that someone felt the need to be rude to Flower's original owner and then threaten your charity! So pathetic. Flower was clearly a much loved pet. He did the right thing in surrendering her to you. Unfortunately, life can change for anyone.
Wow, considering the terrible conditions you've seen other surrenders arrive in, this person did extremely well and seemed to have actually cared and did the responsible thing after the fact. The person that went out and attacked them needs to get their priorities checked.
It's commendable that he contacted you and did a responsible thing. Whoever is trying to manipulate the rescue like this, isn't worth having as a support or donation support, good going! What a precious hamster, just a little doll, with an adorable name too! I think the person did a decent job with caring for the Flower too, considering some of the most horrible setups out there!
I really hope that person is not working in any rescue that behavior is not acceptable. They should know that kind of behavior endangers animals. Not to mention people like the guy in this case was being responsible and surrendering when something unexpected came up. Because many would have thrown out the hamster or just left it to suffer alone. To attack him would discourage surrendering and again endanger the animal. Life happens death, inviction, illness , loss of job etc. You cant control that. Very disappointed with that person who attacks that guy.
To be fair i have my views on why i dislike when people use "I dont have enough time" or "I had a child/having a child" when the animal came first, but as a rescue who's using facebook as a place to represent a non profit business and not as a personal account, you respectfully do not shame owner surrenders and pick a fight with the rescue after being asked to not be disrespectful. I do not care if your views are this or that, you do not do that in an inappropriate manor on a rescues page, then threaten them when you were in the wrong.
@@MunchiesPlaceI I completely agree! I personally don't like the not enough time or child excuse ether. For me when I first got my hamster when I was a kid my parents made me prove I could handle it and then made sure I took care of it and I would get in trouble if I didn't. So I've learned young age how to take care of another living creature. I have never given up an animal, I'm full time college student, have work and then come home to take care of my animals, the only time I think I would is if I became homeless and giving them up would save them. I don't know exactly the whole story for the guy but, I feel the way he handle it was the best outcome for the situation. Better surrender then to abandon. The fact they couldn't understand they were wrong and being aggressive like that is not the right way really does makes me wonder if they care about animals or if this was about feeling some kind righteous. But, that's just my thoughts and opinions on it. Thank you for taking in this little hammy. They really are best in your care right now.
Flower has to lose some weight as she was not neglected at all... But you can see she loves her wheel. This is the first surrender I have seen Munchie do, usually she is rescuing poor little neglected hamsters in tiny toy cages. Note the six inches of bedding in Flower's bin, and that her former human cleaned her bin. If she wasn't loved, her bin would not have been cleaned....
This guy looks like he wanted to be prepared buying back ups and things to experiment with to see what the hamster would and wouldn't like. Sad he had to give it up. He seems really passionate.
I accidentally ordered it a while back, before I knew the formula changed. Luckily I found out before my order even shipped 😹 I let chewy.com know why I was returning it and that it was unsafe so hopefully enough complaints will help (Ik that employee doesn’t control the website but ya know)
It’s so adorable hearing how she’s going through all the stuff the previous owner bought his little hamster. 🥺 like this man loved his little flower and omg.
Wait, you’re in Washington!? Me too! If I ever want to adopt a hamster (not anytime soon due to college and money) I’m definitely going to you first! The last time I had a hamster, I was a child and the poor thing was aggressive and kept in a tiny plastic cage being sold by the pet store. His name was Snowball and he bit me, but I loved him. It broke my heart to give him away to a friend when I moved to Washington. I’d love to try again someday though because I’ve learned so much (mostly from you) and now I’d be able to treat a hamster right and give it a happy home.
It's sad he gave her up so soon but he did the right thing he can't help life changes and all those people slating him clearly don't see the love and care he put into her as he gave her so much and everything she needed minus the excessive treats 😂
I think it's absolutely wonderful that he made the decision with the hamster's best interest as the focus. That anyone would attack him and then threaten you for defending and standing up for him is just unfathomable. please people, be nice to eachother. A lot of people feel shame for surrendering their pets, and a lot of them have valid reasons and/or are great people who are great to their little furbabies. Personally, last year I had to surrender 3 of my mice. I got in a bit of a tough situation in my life (which I honestly havent completely recovered from) and I ended up getting a few too many pets for my liking, and decided it would be best to rehome the 3 mice so they could get more attention. Besides. they didnt seem to get alont with my mouse group. Luckily they went to a great owner and are living great lives. So please, don't jump to conclusions. Thanks
Hey munchie! I recently rescued a male robo hamster from one if my friends friend and she kept him in a 10 gallon tank with pine shavings , I sadly am not allowed to expand his cage so i have the 10 gallon still BUT I have a bin cage already made it's just my grandparents not allowing him to be in there because he is a "small animal" but I'm moving out when I graduate and that's soon! The person who owned him only had a wheel and food and water with no hide or tunnel or toys so I picked then out and I spread feed him to give him something to do and I currently use paper bedding from Mijers but I made sure it was alright ! Plus that yellow wheel is what he has for now...sadly... but if you read this thank you for reading !! I'd love to do a video but I'd like to share it with you!
Can you please leave me a link for hamster food without peanuts, because my sister is 9 and highly allergic and we can’t remember what we originally got. Is there any totally nut free food for hamsters you recommend because I have a Robo and she has a Syrian

What type of hamster food do you recommend because I might try to convince my parents to get one and i wanna do lots of research and know what food it needs before asking for one.
Hey, Munchie! Thanks for caring so much about hamsters! I have one observation: Please don't feed almonds to any small animal. They contain cyanide which is not dangerous for humans because of the low concentration, but for small pets like hamsters or mice, it can be very dangerous. ❤️💕
I'm sure the seed ticks was a hassel to deal with. At the beginning of this year I had to throw out all of my Guinea pig pellets because of Grain mites. It was a lot of waste (it didn't go to waste, we put it in our chicken's pens and goat's pasture for them to dig threw it and any squirrels, birds, etc. To get a snack) But in the end I actually managed to switch to Oxbow, which is a lot better them the Alfalfa bases brand I was feeding.
for my hammies i just put the lid over the tall part and put some books on it so they cant lift it uo and then the shorter side with less bedding is not covered and its worked for me

Hi . If you are anywhere near Appleton or Oshkosh like me . The Appleton humane society is having an open house with the small animal rescue included December 14th . They will be at Oshkosh Petco December 7th and 8 th . You can call the humane society or check Facebook for more information also .
I love your food reviews, you should review the Wild Harvest brand! I know it'd be a bad review, but I know people use it; when I babysat a hamster the girl was using Wild Harvest 🤮
Whats scary is that the more I watch these videos it shows the worst I took care of my little beans. R.I.P. Rotiny (Ro-tinie) Please dont read if in a good mood. Rotiny was my little baby hamster who I had had since birth. She was in bred and keep in a medium cage with her parents and sister (The dad being sperated) plus a new hammy. I held her a lot and one day I saw her laying out in the middle of one of the sections of the cage breathing shallowly with half closes eyes. I thought she might be playing dead cause my other hamsters did not like to be held. (They where dawfs) I though it was because I didn't feed her enough food once my parents told me what might be happening. So I rushed to my fridge and grabbed a chunk of carrot and tried to feed her but she wouldn't eat. I picked her up. Like when she was a baby. And watched her slowly fall asleep. She was only alive for a few months and what sucked the most was that she was born on cristmas. If I would've took more care of her she would still be alive. I never owned hamster ever again after they all died. I hated cleaning the cage and there noise but it was only because I dident care for them properly. I'm crying as writing this. Only if I did more research.
Does anyone have any suggestions for mice cages that are relatively cheap? I was thinking a bin cage, but there isn't that much info out there on mice and bin cages and I'm worried one might chew out
I don't use exercise balls at all because I'm very scared that one of my hamsters and I get their toe stock so that's why I get them cage time other enclosures so I can spend time with them
It’s more of a hay based meal which hamsters just pass that through their system. They don’t really have the stomachs to digest hay unlike guinea pigs and rabbits do, which is why it’s bad for them. The best food you can give them is sunburst Higgins along with Mazuri rat and mouse diet blocks. It’s the best mix that provides the protein they need along with the fiber and fat.
this is kinda off topic bUt does anyone know any good bags of hamster food? i’m trying to give my hamsters a better diet. (also any good healthy treats?)
I am only 10 and am on my moms acount but even I am smarter than the people that attacked that person becuse just why and thankyou munchie for all of your avice and helping me because I have been collecting data for a year or two and trying to get a hamster so thankyou
Just a warning about the Oxbow treats, PLEASE BE SURE TO BREAK THEM UP INTO SMALL PIECES IF YOU USE THEM! My hamster loves them, but I didn't break a piece up small enough and I was worried her cheek pouches would become impacted or that she would choke (she's fine, btw. It came out easy, it was just very concerning). So please be careful with them!
How do hamsters react to mirrors? Why is Oxbow not a good brand for hamsters? Is it just because it lacks variety? If they can’t digest hay why wouldn’t Oxbow change their formula?
munchie if u are seeing this i’m looking to get a hamster but i’m in the uk so there’s not many adoption places where i am where would u recommend +i’m looking for a cheap but big cage but can’t find any ❤️💕🐹
ᕼEIᗪI'ᔕ ᑕᕼᗩᑎᑎEᒪ hi! Sorry to jump in but I’m UK too and my ham is in an ikea detolf, you can get it for £60 straight from the store and it’s way bigger than any cage. The big ASDA’s also have the deep plastic bins in the home section like the one Munchie shows in her vid!
Pets at Home sell a 100cm x 50 cm x 50 cm cage. I think it's called Hamster Plaza. I have one for my Syrian hamster and he seems happy in there. Plenty of room for a big wheel, hides and toys.

Hey, Munchie! Thanks for caring so much about hamsters! I have one observation: Please don't feed almonds to any small animal. They contain cyanide which is not dangerous for humans because of the low concentration, but for small pets like hamsters or mice, it can be very dangerous. ❤️💕
Like others have said, sweet almonds are completely fine for your small animal, bitter almonds however can be deadly. Thank you for your concern ♥️
Bitter almonds are safe for humans cuase the cooking process leaches out the cyanide.
I'm sure the seed ticks was a hassel to deal with.
At the beginning of this year I had to throw out all of my Guinea pig pellets because of Grain mites.

Hiya um wondering if you could react to amazon hamster cages because i were looking at them for my hamster patch but they are too small like a hamster couldent even fit in just please do it because some people just need to learn a lesson Thankyou x
I have a robo hamster named beef cakes and she is so cute
I use tiny friends farm and it is definitely not dust...mine looks like good hamster bathing sand 🙃
Robos are so cute, i want one🐹😅..
And put it in a 1354sq inch cage, with a level, for bedding soil and or mabey aspen, water bowl, high quality food, and 8inch wheel, also lots of toys and tunnels😘
Please do a room tour!!
Not the most relevant question but what sand do you recommend for sand baths? I want to give my partner a hammy cage overhaul and I was curious.
Any non toxic non staining play sand is perfect just if its wet then you will need to dry it before putting it in the cage
reptisand or play sand

Whats scary is that the more I watch these videos it shows the worst I took care of my little beans.
R.I.P. Rotiny (Ro-tinie)
Please dont read if in a good mood.

I don't use exercise balls at all because I'm very scared that one of my hamsters and I get their toe stock so that's why I get them cage time other enclosures so I can spend time with them
Hey munchie I love your vids I use the oxbow essentials food what is wrong with it
It’s more of a hay based meal which hamsters just pass that through their system. They don’t really have the stomachs to digest hay unlike guinea pigs and rabbits do, which is why it’s bad for them. The best food you can give them is sunburst Higgins along with Mazuri rat and mouse diet blocks. It’s the best mix that provides the protein they need along with the fiber and fat.
....do you guys do rescues and rehoming from another country? Lol
Hey I watch this video twice is this video part of the vlogmas contest
@@ciaramaya4417 thank you
Awhh❤
I had a robo hamster but he died yesterday because he had a illness 🤧 his sister died a week earlier and she had the same illness.

bUt does anyone know any good bags of hamster food? i’m trying to give my hamsters a better diet.
I have a robo hamster his name is max but I call him maximilian and he is sooooo cute I just love animals❤
my robo chewed all the chew toys in a day and i HID THEM
How do hamsters react to mirrors? Why is Oxbow not a good brand for hamsters? Is it just because it lacks variety? If they can’t digest hay why wouldn’t Oxbow change their formula?
Kaleigh Rings they can’t digest the alfalfa
did you forget the letter munchie?

@@Persephonemybff didnt forget or didnt put it in? I watched twice and cant find it haha

I wish there was a hamster rescue near me, there is a ferret rescue, but no hamsters 😢
munchie if u are seeing this i’m looking to get a hamster but i’m in the uk so there’s not many adoption places where i am where would u recommend +i’m looking for a cheap but big cage but can’t find any ❤️💕🐹
ᕼEIᗪI'ᔕ ᑕᕼᗩᑎᑎEᒪ hi! Sorry to jump in but I’m UK too and my ham is in an ikea detolf, you can get it for £60 straight from the store and it’s way bigger than any cage. The big ASDA’s also have the deep plastic bins in the home section like the one Munchie shows in her vid!
You can adopt from pets at home, I adopted my baby from there a year ago 💕
Pets at Home sell a 100cm x 50 cm x 50 cm cage. I think it's called Hamster Plaza. I have one for my Syrian hamster and he seems happy in there. Plenty of room for a big wheel, hides and toys.
