The Garmin LIDAR-Lite v3HP is a robust LIDAR module that can be used for determining distances up to 40 m. It offers an improvement over the original v3 model by being more power efficient (around 40 mA less current consumption), offering a higher sampling rate (up to 1 kHz), and including an IPX7-rated casing. The new enclosure means the v3HP unit itself is waterproof up to depths of about 1 m. Наука
IPX7 rated... cmon guys... test it underwater :D for science!
Is there a LIDAR solution for less than a meter range and high sensitivity?
Hello,
Can I get info about which board/ interface/ display did you use for showing sensor readings?
Hi I'm currently making a project via the arduino platform that needs me to log distance ranging from 10-20 meters in tight spaces... I would like to ask if you guys have a sample video or at least a proof showing its accuracy in such ranges... Because I am truly interested in using your sensor to gather data... Thank you and have a nice day!! :D
Can the laser in the lidar unit damage your eyes if you look right at it?
Depends the wavelength. 1400nm is limit, over 1400nm you probably damage your eyes, between 400nm and 1400nm; it will also damage your eyes but not always immediately noticeable. It has 905nm.
It's listed as a Class 1 laser, which means it should be safe. Always better to not stare directly at it, though ;)
Someone else has said, it's class 1. While yes wavelength matters, even leds on the white wavelength at high enough wattage could be considered "damaging" to the eyes. Tldr is you're fine!
Hi, can the lidar sensor work in very dark environments?
Bernie Jansen If you can’t figure out the answer to this question yourself you’re an idiot.
What is the FoV of the lidar-lite?
Agreed, how does Lidar work underwater!
My guess is it can handle rain
It doesn't. Not in this one, it's safe underwater but it won't work well if it all until you take it out I believe, but in rain it'll be just fine.
