    The main question is: What is the attic temperature difference before and after the Reflectix?

      This varies depending on location and installation. We have had customers tell us that it reduced their attic temp between 20 and 35 degrees.

    My home is ranch style- one cannot stand in it. you are basically doing an army army crawl on your belly. how can I install this in this type of roof space. I have probably have less than 3 inches of blown insulation- super old- been here 20 years and I have never reinsulated.

      Looks like you’ll be army-crawling a bit. Fixing the venting will be a better ROI and it would be a little easier.

      I have the type of home and I installed this product in my attic. It is a difficult application but once the job is complete it makes a huge difference in both your utility bill as well as the feel of your home.

    What is the purpose of leaving the gap at the eave and the ridge vent in a vented attic? Won't the eave vents still pull the air up to the ridge regardless? Is air circulation required in the area 'under' the reflectix and this is the source?

    • @coolramone

      That must be to cool the attic (from the soffit vents).

      Yeah, you really need airflow under the reflectix. The radiant heat from the roof deck is being bounced back at the roof deck, so the bulk of the attic heat is going to be trapped there. If you don’t ventilate that area, you’re going to end up cooking your roof.

      @@kungfoochicken08cooking your roof?
      What exactly does that mean?

    • @kungfoochicken08
      @kungfoochicken08 2 месяца назад +2

      @@rpdx3 It’s a bit of an exaggeration. It just means you’ll end up heating up your shingles by 15-20 degrees.
      Ventilation is really the biggest bang for your buck though.

      This just insures that there arent any trapped air spaces in your attic. Attics go through extreme temperature changes so you never want to trap air in an attic application.

    What type of staples do you recommend with the install?

    • @toddhare8225
      @toddhare8225 2 месяца назад +1

      any size staple that will penetrate the product and puncture the board that you are attaching it to. I used 3/8" staples in my application.

      The smallest sized button capped nails could also be an alternative.
