What this team needs is a coach that can read the game and make changes as well as develop a system for their end of the ice.
Maybe get some solid defensemen and a good goaltender. Getting rid of Matthews would be a start.They will never win a cup with him, I don't care how many goals he scores.
Sheldon Keefe vs. Jim Montgomery is like Robert Saleh vs. Andy Reid. Brad Treliving had the opportunity to let Keefe go but he added a bonus season to his contract. The Core-4 and Morgan Rielly love Keefe because they control him like a minuette!

Not gonna lie the question of how to wake up the Scotia bank arena has to be the stupidest question I’ve ever heard on this podcast. Carbon tax at an all time high gas being nearly $1.80 a litre, a tall can of beer costing $18… I bought a hot dog and a beer for myself and my girlfriend in 2017 at a regular season leafs game and it was just under $55. On top of it all selling nose bleed tickets above $500. It’s obvious the real fans can’t afford it.
They will price themselves right out the door!The common,Guy,will not be able to afford it!You gotta eat and have shelter!The only one’s getting rich are the owners and players,disgusting,in every sport,!

Leafs could have won the game(3) if Samsonov didn’t give up 2 bad goals. We need a better goaltender next playoffs. Marner just needs to pass the puck quickly instead of holding it and dance around.
Agree. I was extremely angered by his play last game. The Leafs played well except the awful powerplay. They need more offense but the goalie has been unacceptable in two games.

Hey guys, great channel and epic show as always. Berkey is always an amazing guest although my my comment is addressing the first minute of the show, so I didn't hear too much from him.
Rosie, I love you and I normally love your takes, but I have to disagree with this one.
Do you actually think that Leaf's Nation thinks this team is a playoff team? I don't think so at all! I see the exact same problems we we have had for years. Defense, goaltending and snot. We have a little bit more of it, but not enough of it.
Leafs nation is in frigging panic mode right now because we see that we are struggling against this Boston as we always do.

Leaf nation doesn’t do their homework outside toronto enough. Frederic is quicker than you think and has a deceptively good snipe. If he played in the top 6 he’d be close to 30 goals.
TOR's advantage was fwrd depth in players who can finish at NHL level, with mcmann a surprise addition, and rbrtsn improving w/ every game to point where a starter. that's 8, unheard of in the cap era. Trev got some D who can clear the front of the net, but equally big problem was getting trapped in their own end. of course klingberg was supposed to be that shot from the point. how/ why did Ott get chychrun for free?

As for the fanbase at the home games: it’s only natural, that the culture of defeatism within the team and organization, seeps into the fanbase as well. Aftetall, they are innocent victims in this heinous tragedy too.
First thing leafs doing wrong is on the power play drop passing the puck 3-4times trying to gain entry into O-zone then can't gain entry 3-4 drop passes 40seconds off the 2 minute power play leads to 1 maybe 2 shots on net. Nick Robertson gains entry with speed dumps it in and goes hard after it. Matthews can't deke anyone out if his life depends on it..
You know,anyone who has ever played the sport,and I did for twenty years,not at the pro level,knows your gonna get hit,I don’t think anyone Ike’s to get hit,but it is part of the sport,some guys take it better then others,and some guys ,the fear of God is put into them by a hit,or a few hits!To chastise,a guy for being not want to be hit,well I don’t know!Sometimes you know your gonna get ran over,but to make the play you do it!But to say you would take the hit,because your a tough guy,is assinine!Walk a mile in my shoes!

If anyone truly thinks the Leafs are built for the playoffs, then they are delusional. Subpar power play, average defence, average goaltending and lack of depth. What part of the aforementioned is conducive with winning a Stanley Cup? Smh.

When is a 40 goal scorer out of the line and no one is that concerned? In Toronto where the crowd is so sophisticated that it is no big deal. The team has made their money on regular season and nobody expects them to go far in the playoffs.
The cap is going up $4 million but the big 4 will gobble up all that. Mathews and Willy gobbled up most of it already. Also, the cap goes up for all the teams. Not just for the Leafs. This guy is a joke.
He’s talking in circles. “They need to break up the core 4”. I told Tree he had to sign Nylander and now they have to protect and sign Marner ‘protect the asset’ ! He’s right about the goaltending tho’. After overpaying most of their top scorers they have no money to spend on a better D. I’ve always liked Reilly but he is not the same effective player he was in last years playoffs. If you watch the other series and compare some of the teams to the Leafs the GLARING shortages on D and in goal are super evident. I predicted this long term ineffectivity when they overpaid for Tavares. ALSO, I’ve had migraines and believe me, the LAST THING you feel like doing is even putting on skates and practicing. It might just be something else !

Marner does not show up in the playoffs and it's not just this season. Burke if you want to break up the core four somehow but are not sure then you don't want to? Marner and Tavares are the two options.

Has there been any indication at all that Mitch Marner is hurt? To me, it looks like he is hurt. I'm basing this on that one very egregious play where he went to the other side of the opposing player player instead of engaging to get the puck.
He's never been an overly physical player, but I have seen him make that play and hit the opposing player many many times. Could he be hurt?

Because he decided to build a team by trading away picks rather than drafting players. Imported players from college instead and aside from Bozak none of the players he brought in made a difference. Made good trades but built the team the wrong way. I did not like trading the picks for Kessel because the team was bad. His biggest problem? Building a team without a real first line center. It didn’t work.

Burkie is not being truthful in his assessment of Marner because he is friends with Tre and also a fan. There is no sense in piling on the criticism . Marner sucks in the playoffs, always makes the play of least resistance , and unless he proves us otherwise this year we should work to use the cap space on a D-Man.
Marner 49 points in 53 games is not sucking. Grow some hockey IQ.

To think that any one player is responsible is just ridiculous. It was a super close game. Boston is no easy win, they could easily win the Stanley cup as much as any top team... IF they get a hot goalie like they have been. If we had a hot goalie we would be up to 2-1. Close tough play off hockey. Leafs have been very good.

He’s softer than baby 💩. He’s triple ply. He sleeps on the floor and not a bed because his whole body is a 6 foot tall pillow. If he goes to the gym, he does yoga, then a bit of cardio just to sprint by the weights and the strength coach because he doesn’t want to get wrinkles in his hands from holding weights.
Beer prices go up and fans get quieter. Don’t blame your fans, lower the prices of beer. And stop blaming Sammy for game 3 loss when our leafs can’t score on 5 power plays

toronto has been outscored 11-6 and 1 for 11 on power play so something with the prevent side is struggling... poor Defence and goaltending needs to be ungraded obviously but with so much of the cap space is in forwards and it shows... I question the value from Tavares with his fat salary verses Marchand at $5M ..give me Marchand any day of the week...

Nylander had a really bad finish to his season because he landed a big contract and now he could care less.
Its clear Marner is playing hurt, was out late in the season and came back too early with a couple games left to try and get ready for the playoffs, 200% he is playing hurt
