Hello sir, is it a good strategy of doing additional purchase instead of top - up sip in any mutual fund, whenever the nav is cheaper pl advice me and pl post a video about addtional purchase in sip.
Very informative video Rahul. Thank you for articulating it perfectly. QQ - For US investments, I understand the LTCG is 20% for >24months but what if there is a loss incurred earlier to the 24 months and then the stock is rebought with a gain post the 24month period. Are we still able to offset the lost capital when calculating the overall tax? Hope I’m not confusing too much!
Hi Rahul. Good clarification on Section 70 for STCL offset. Also the US Stocks taxation information about STCG & LTCG along with holding period of 24m. As per Slab / Indexation Tax. Great useful information. 👍
Sir, I really appreciate all your efforts and the way you break down the whole concept regarding the market. It is quite beneficial for newbies like me and find your videos very informative. Also, it would be good for us if you analyse the US stocks also. ❤
If I'm a student no income. If I Earn 1 Lakh in short term investement (lesss than a 1 year period), still should I pay ? as per new Tax rules 7.5L no tax right ?
These are captial gains not as per income tax slabs..be a student or employee, you have to pay these taxes irrespective of slab rates. 15 PC stcg in ur case on profit
I am employed with an annual net taxable income (for FY2022-23) of ~3L Rs and long-term capital gain from the equity of ~3L Rs. Since my total income is less than 7L, I m wondering how much tax I must pay as per the new taxation rule(Budget -2023)? I would highly appreciate your thought on this. Thanks in advance.

Hi, for mutual fund , for long term capital gain , TAX is 10% after one lakh, in the example shown of UTI index fund , gain is 1 lakh for 48 month and we dont need to pay tax for it , isnt? even if profit is 1,50,000 , we need to pay tax for 50,000 gain, correct me if am wrong
Hello Rahul can you make this video in Hindi so that many viewers can understand what you want to say, also little confusion, first you said gain of 25000 in short term on 5 lakhs then in between you said 75000 gain , it's confusing

Hello Rahul , 2 questions from my side . Could you please reply to them 1. For debt fund investments made before 2023 April , will indexation benefit applicable? 2. Suppose if we inherit shares from deceased parents on April 2nd 2023 with stock price as 500 rs with 500 quantity and today 07 may 2023 ,the price fell to 450. If we sell all the inherited stocks at 450 rs . Do we need to pay any taxes if total value is 450 × 500= 2.25 lakhs Please reply
is long capital gain tax calculated on profit of all mutual funds or individual mutual fund? Lets say I want to reinvestment mutual fund, can withdraw different mutual funds (hold more than 12 months) and keep profit of each under 1L? Will it attract long capital gain tax as combined profit is more than 1L??
No, you don't need provided you made an investment after 1st April because the rule says, investment made after 1st april will be taxed at income tax slab rate. But pls confirm with your taz advisor as well because I am not an authorised tax advisor.
Dear Rahul , I am a novice here......Pl make me clear.....Suppose I have 5 MF SIPS ......all 5 in good profit started 6 years back......How to redeem to save Long term capital gains tax. (Someone told me to do SWP . So, shall I do SWP in one MF or in all 5
Whether you do it in one or 5, it does not matter. You get up to 1 lac of profit tax free in a financial year provided this 1 lac is long term capital gain (meaning this 1 lac was generated from assets that you held for more than 1 year). Someone advising you to do SWP is may be from tax efficiceny perspective.
