This is the weirdest fucking pirate crew to ever sail the seas, and I fucking love them for it.
I like how Ollie has been slowly dropping in age as the campaign progresses He started out with his voice breaking in puberty now he sounds, looks, and acts like a 9 year old
Ollie was also explicitly stated as 14 in the first episode he appeared. Then, after his age reversal he was 12. Some time later, I can't remember when, he was 10. And now he's 9.
This is going in my top three favorite episodes of Riptide immediately. Jay's speech about how she's being effected by the war was beautifully done by Condi. She was absolutely right to be concerned about them wanting to fight, and seeing her stand up and be honest about how she was feeling, even when it went against what they wanted, was not only inspiring but it was amazing to see from her. Such amazing character development from Jay. She has always been the coolest badass ever, but seeing her be honest and serious about such a touchy subject was genuinely inspiring to me as someone who is terrified of that. Chip was so unbelievably seriously supportive of both Gil and Jay this episode and it made me love him even more. He's grown so much and they way he instantly stopped messing around when he saw how hurt both Gil and Jay were in their scenarios, he jumped into comforting and backing them up no hesitation, no questions asked. The "talk to me"/"Don't forget we're here for you" for Jay was so sweet, and the very serious "No more eggs." for Gillion was heart wrenching. Bizly played it so fucking well. And I will never ever get over his interactions with Ollie. They just get better and better. I don't even know what to say about Charlie's acting with Gil's nightmare. Having been with the podcast since Fated, it is so amazing to see how much he has grown with more serious/emotional rp. God. He was absolutely heartbreaking. The way he wanted to protect Chip from seeing what he saw as well was so sad. The way he said "I know you're strong, and I trust you..." and "was there another way to save her?" fucking broke me. But the fact that he actually opened up and told them that he had the nightmare was an insanely big step for Gillion. And Grizzly...Well fucking done. Ollie will forever be one of my favorite NPC's in the whole of Just Roll With It, and Grizzly plays him perfectly. The way he narrated the nightmare sequence made it so inanely haunting and terrifying and so emotional. Not to mention the world building and story telling!! Grizzly as a DM has taught me so much and I learn more with each episode. This episode was not combat-heavy. There was minimal action (But why did that game of Tag seem more intense than some actual serious combats though?), there were no huge lore pieces, nothing super major happened aside from Jay's speech and Gil's nightmare development. And it was absolutely brilliantly done. This episode alone shows that DND does not have to be constant chaos and progression and go go go. Giving the players a day to themselves and seeing what they do with it can be just as important, if not more. Sorry for such a long comment. On the very off chance that anyone actually sees it, I just felt like I really needed to say well done and thank you, not just for this amazing episode but for every episode. This campaign just keeps getting better. I'm so glad I found it when I did.

I cannot believe this episode, after returning from the holiday break, has it all. We got fun and games, we got angst and comfort, we got "level-ups", we got trauma, we got.. well... they're high...so uh.. we got that too! And we got the start of another funny and chaotic fight, while.. once again.. some of the crew are drowning! I'm so glad you guys are back haha. It's so nice and heartwarming to return to the world of mana like this.

I imagine it kinda like a movie for Chip, where the camera stays in one place, like right outside the door, but it cuts randomly to different scenes. Every time the replay of the nightmare happens, Gillion does something different. He runs downstairs and pleads with his mother. He cries and yells and hopes she’ll listen to what he’s desperately trying to tell her. He smashes the table, the food, the contents in his room, everything in deep anger and grief, already knowing what he’ll see in that room. Clawing at and punching the walls and door, hoping to break out of the dream. Sitting against that door and trying to hold back the unending sobs he feels will eventually escape his chest. He tears at his skin and at his head, wanting this nightmare to end, wanting the gods to strike him down. The disgusting words are engraved into his mind. *“I’ll Be Back.”*

It's also interesting because since his traumatic memory of killing got removed, Chip no longer has an aversion to killing. It's not like he suddenly want to kill everyone, but where before he would have spared people he now doesn't (like the assassin last episode), and he seems to be less affected by dead bodies (like in the murder mystery episode).

It's also interesting because since his traumatic memory of killing got removed, Chip no longer has an aversion to killing. It's not like he suddenly want to kill everyone, but where before he would have spared people he now doesn't (like the assassin last episode), and he seems to be less affected by dead bodies (like in the murder mystery episode).
