Of the many things I love about this woman and her van, I'm particularly impressed with her independence and determination to take care of herself, her dogs and her van. The security items, the off road capabilities and ability to get herself out of off road situations have all been addressed -- even a heavy duty marine awning. She seems to have thought of everything. What a beautiful van!

You’re living my dream! Minus 3 dogs! In the beginning, at least. I’ll be building the raised bed area like you with the passage to the garage like yours. It just makes the most sense when I climbed off the ledge of elevator beds! 🤣

it’s basically a giant dog bed lol they spend 99% of their time outside so it’s really on travel days and bedtime we’re in the van! it works for us! they love it because they think the entire van is for them lol i’m not upset about it because i thought about them for this entire build - i built it for US not for me. the whole point was to spend more time outdoors and less time indoors. we’re all happier that way. the van is basically just our shelter 😂
thank you!! I wanted "life in a van" to still be as similar as possible to my current lifestyle - cleanliness, routine, and comfortability with the 3 dogs meant that if I wanted to do this long-term it would be crucial to make sure I came up with a plan and layout that would work for all of us!
Love the layout! Generally my biggest gripe with vans is that the refrigerators are so small but she did a great job of having a much larger refrigerator. The only change I would make to her kitchen would be putting the two burners front-to-back as I think that would give you a bit more counter space. I love the fact that she travels with three dogs. It shows that it's possible in a van! I have three small dogs (10-15 lbs each) and have often wondered if it would be possible for all of us to fit in a van but obviously she makes it work. As she talked about the ramp and bed being for the dogs I had to laugh and thought thatbis what I would do too! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us Meg!!
thank you! yes, having a big fridge was a must! i did so much searching to find one - there are a lot of options but i was determined to find a retro one! As for the burners, that was actually the original plan but with the depth of the counter i opted to have more “hallway” space and rotated the burners as you see them now. because even after the burner ends you still need a bit of counter space for the stove to sit into… which for me was 150% the right move with my shower being right there. also YES! it takes some adjusting traveling full time with dogs but once everyone figures out to work with w each other it becomes just like any other home you’d move into! the ramp worked out better than i had expected - it’s high because it had to sit on top of the inverter and i know that it wouldn’t be comfortable for the boys to jump up and down off of it all the time - they love it now!! never an issue getting used to it. Thank you SO much for being here and watching 🧡💙
I probably shouldn't even write this comment but I have seen some very nice van builds that cost $130,000 so I don't even know what her van cost her to build with all that it has in it. Especially the solar and battery bank etc. Very beautiful van and it will last you a very long time. Enjoy everyday like it is your last because today is all that we have because tomorrow is never promised so go live the life you want to live and enjoy it like it is the last day of your life. ahh! thank you! the organization is key for my sanity lol! they've been transitioning SO well to life on the road - i made it a priority when designing my build to make sure their routine/lives stayed as similar as they could to life in a home to make it easier on them.
i appreciate that SO much! yeah i feel like the biggest factor when designing was how to continue my dogs and my lifestyle while being on the road. it has been working great for them!! they love being able to look out the windows on the bed and getting to explore everywhere we go.

Love this van. I would change the colors but otherwise it's a "perfect" van. Those dogs are so fortunate to get to travel and be with their human (mom) all the time.
This looks like the shorter wheelbase? If it is, I think if this was the 170 extended wheelbase, with some extra room, maybe for a little sitting area inside (and maybe a smaller fridge), it'd be absolutely brillant. The outside additions are fantastic.
hi! yes this is the 170’ ext wheelbase! I do also have a sitting area and desk space that wasn’t shown in this video! I use my passenger seat that’s on a swivel base and i have a lagun table mount to eat and work at!

Love your van. I would just want lighter colors. But I love that you have a full sized fridge!! And the fact that you have a shower, I feel like that’s necessary with dogs.

this was my first van tour so i wasn’t really sure what to expect! just did the best i could at the time! i do shout out my builder on my channels though. from the thumbnail, i knew there is something interesting on the roof. this van is a beast!! the roof is great area for additional storage. I haven't a van that uses the roof for extra floor area to hangout but with side/hand rails for safety. most builds just have with flat flooring which is kinda cringey in terms of safety.
thank you! yeah the roof storage does come in handy, but it’s a process to get whatever i want down from there that i basically just use it for back stock like TP & paper towels 😂 store my winter clothes up there and vice versa depending on the season! the solar panels on the roof of the van are walkable, but i do agree having rails would definitely add peace of mind and comfort

Very nice build. And very intelligent lady. Love her furry companions also! But I must say that having led lighting is good for dark areas but for areas that's well lit, not good. My hometown area is small but well lit for the most part. And many people here have newer cars with led headlights. And I hate them! It makes night time driving difficult. I've came close to being in an accident a few months ago because someone's led headlights blinded me so much that I couldn't see. And tbh I wish they would not have made led headlights. But that said, love her van build.

we spend 99% of our time outdoors and basically just sleep inside. to be totally honest, they're outside and have more freedom than they ever did living inside of a house.

First off you dogs are wonderful! wish we had more time with them! i love the live edge. The van is bad ass! i want 4x4 as well! Super nice rig! Good for you! im doing 3 dogs in my travels as well 15 lb. 50 lb and 150 lb! lol!!

The only thing that concerns me is the propane tank that’s inside the van. I hope that she has a hole that vents outside in case of a leak. And that she finds a way to build a box around it for added safety.

Amazing build, I love that you have 4 wheel drive and are set up to take care of yourself if needed. Extremely thought out. Love that you're into nutrition and animals too. 1 question with having your dogs, if you go into somewhere and leave them do you leave the max air on( as I know they draw a lot of energy) or possibly you are traveling in cooler climates. I'm in Florida so always have wondered what would be the best. Want to travel with my babies, not all do well in car, not sure if that would change in their senior years. Enjoy your travels 😊🙏🌍
hi! okay so i actually love this comment because it addresses so many things i’ve also had to learn since being on the road - i started my first official journey with my dogs in florida. i was their for the cooler season but the last two months i was there march/april it was HOT. so here’s some things i recommend and that have worked for me so far… 1. invest in insulated window shades! it doesn’t completely solve the issue but it does help A TON! it keeps the hot air out and cool air in & vice versa when it’s cold outside and you want it to be warm inside. 2. i always do my absolute best to find somewhere to park in the shade (although the downfall to this is not getting solar charge, i’d prefer to keep the boys as comfortable as possible and parking somewhere that’s not directly in the sun helps a lot. 3. i have tested out a couple of things - one time i ran my AC unit ALL day (horrible idea it drained my batteries to 0%). i also tried running the AC and max air fans at the same time - also a bad idea bc basically all the cool air from the AC escaped out through the max air fans. I tested running just the max air fans and that does help circulate the air (which is what i do most often bc it doesn’t totally drain the batteries but provides enough air flow. depending on the day if there’s a breeze i will leave my tvent windows cracked which allows a nice breeze through the van especially in the bed area which is where they like to hangout best. in addition, i ALWAYS keep my little portable fan on HIGH and keep it plugged into the USB charger that way it doesn’t die. 4. something else i have found helpful is to use my curtains to close off the front of the cab area and sliding door - the dogs can still go through the curtain if they wanted, but it helps the cool air stay in the back of the van rather than escaping through the front area!
5. i make sure they ALWAYS have a gallon of cold water available in their water bowl. 6. i keep my ramp down for them that way they can roam the entire van - if the bed area with blankets is hot for them they can move onto the nice cool wood floors but to be honest they usually like staying on the bed! 7. something i HIGHLY suggest investing in is a pet temperature monitor! it tells you the temperature in the van at all times and you can monitor it constantly plus it will alert you if it becomes too hot! so far these are the things i have found most helpful!

@@chriss3314 of course anytime!! i’m learning so much from this experience that i want to be able to share and hopefully help anyone that i can to notmake the same mistakes i have! and yes! i actually have a few awesome hacks that have worked well for me - i used to have a high power ninja blender. i needed up swapping for a blendjet 2 which is a rechargeable blended but it works SOOOO much better than i had anticipated! i just couldn’t fit my big blender in the van. i also have a mini juicer i bought from amazon - that does run 120V so i have to have my inverter on but draws minimal power. then there’s my air fryer which i also downsized from my ninja because of space but this is a 2qt and works great!! draws about 800W during use but still some draw 3k watts so i don’t think it’s so bad!

Love the layout! Generally my biggest gripe with vans is that the refrigerators are so small but she did a great job of having a much larger refrigerator. The only change I would make to her kitchen would be putting the two burners front-to-back as I think that would give you a bit more counter space. I love the fact that she travels with three dogs. It shows that it's possible in a van! I have three small dogs (10-15 lbs each) and have often wondered if it would be possible for all of us to fit in a van but obviously she makes it work. As she talked about the ramp and bed being for the dogs I had to laugh and thought thatbis what I would do too!

thank you! yes, having a big fridge was a must! i did so much searching to find one - there are a lot of options but i was determined to find a retro one! As for the burners, that was actually the original plan but with the depth of the counter i opted to have more “hallway” space and rotated the burners as you see them now. because even after the burner ends you still need a bit of counter space for the stove to sit into… which for me was 150% the right move with my shower being right there. also YES! it takes some adjusting traveling full time with dogs but once everyone figures out to work with w each other it becomes just like any other home you’d move into!
the ramp worked out better than i had expected - it’s high because it had to sit on top of the inverter and i know that it wouldn’t be comfortable for the boys to jump up and down off of it all the time - they love it now!! never an issue getting used to it.

I probably shouldn't even write this comment but I have seen some very nice van builds that cost $130,000 so I don't even know what her van cost her to build with all that it has in it. Especially the solar and battery bank etc.

ahh! thank you! the organization is key for my sanity lol! they've been transitioning SO well to life on the road - i made it a priority when designing my build to make sure their routine/lives stayed as similar as they could to life in a home to make it easier on them.

i appreciate that SO much! yeah i feel like the biggest factor when designing was how to continue my dogs and my lifestyle while being on the road. it has been working great for them!! they love being able to look out the windows on the bed and getting to explore everywhere we go.

This looks like the shorter wheelbase? If it is, I think if this was the 170 extended wheelbase, with some extra room, maybe for a little sitting area inside (and maybe a smaller fridge), it'd be absolutely brillant. The outside additions are fantastic.
hi! yes this is the 170’ ext wheelbase! I do also have a sitting area and desk space that wasn’t shown in this video! I use my passenger seat that’s on a swivel base and i have a lagun table mount to eat and work at!

I had to laugh when you said the bed you had made was for the dogs. I bought my house for the dogs! I like seeing a large refrigerator. At some point I hope to have some type of traveling vehicle for me and my Big furbabies. I like how your outdoor shower in the back is perfect for showering the dogs. from the thumbnail, i knew there is something interesting on the roof. this van is a beast!! the roof is great area for additional storage. I haven't a van that uses the roof for extra floor area to hangout but with side/hand rails for safety. most builds just have with flat flooring which is kinda cringey in terms of safety.
thank you! yeah the roof storage does come in handy, but it’s a process to get whatever i want down from there that i basically just use it for back stock like TP & paper towels 😂 store my winter clothes up there and vice versa depending on the season! the solar panels on the roof of the van are walkable, but i do agree having rails would definitely add peace of mind and comfort

Very nice build. And very intelligent lady. Love her furry companions also! But I must say that having led lighting is good for dark areas but for areas that's well lit, not good. My hometown area is small but well lit for the most part. And many people here have newer cars with led headlights. And I hate them! It makes night time driving difficult. I've came close to being in an accident a few months ago because someone's led headlights blinded me so much that I couldn't see. And tbh I wish they would not have made led headlights. But that said, love her van build.
thank you very much! and man i’m with you the amount of times i’ve been blinded by someone’s headlights i’m like how is that even legal. so glad you’re okay though! 🙏🏽 all of my addition LEDS in the vehicle are not for driving purposes but for off-roading at night, finding and seeing down trails, security for animals and my pets etc! so for that they are hands down incredible!! 🙌🏽

we spend 99% of our time outdoors and basically just sleep inside. to be totally honest, they're outside and have more freedom than they ever did living inside of a house.

The only thing that concerns me is the propane tank that’s inside the van. I hope that she has a hole that vents outside in case of a leak. And that she finds a way to build a box around it for added safety.

Amazing build, I love that you have 4 wheel drive and are set up to take care of yourself if needed. Extremely thought out. Love that you're into nutrition and animals too.
1 question with having your dogs, if you go into somewhere and leave them do you leave the max air on( as I know they draw a lot of energy) or possibly you are traveling in cooler climates. I'm in Florida so always have wondered what would be the best. Want to travel with my babies, not all do well in car, not sure if that would change in their senior years. Enjoy your travels 😊🙏🌍
hi! okay so i actually love this comment because it addresses so many things i’ve also had to learn since being on the road - i started my first official journey with my dogs in florida. i was their for the cooler season but the last two months i was there march/april it was HOT. so here’s some things i recommend and that have worked for me so far… 1. invest in insulated window shades! it doesn’t completely solve the issue but it does help A TON! it keeps the hot air out and cool air in & vice versa when it’s cold outside and you want it to be warm inside. 2. i always do my absolute best to find somewhere to park in the shade (although the downfall to this is not getting solar charge, i’d prefer to keep the boys as comfortable as possible and parking somewhere that’s not directly in the sun helps a lot. 3. i have tested out a couple of things - one time i ran my AC unit ALL day (horrible idea it drained my batteries to 0%). i also tried running the AC and max air fans at the same time - also a bad idea bc basically all the cool air from the AC escaped out through the max air fans. I tested running just the max air fans and that does help circulate the air (which is what i do most often bc it doesn’t totally drain the batteries but provides enough air flow. depending on the day if there’s a breeze i will leave my tvent windows cracked which allows a nice breeze through the van especially in the bed area which is where they like to hangout best. in addition, i ALWAYS keep my little portable fan on HIGH and keep it plugged into the USB charger that way it doesn’t die. 4. something else i have found helpful is to use my curtains to close off the front of the cab area and sliding door - the dogs can still go through the curtain if they wanted, but it helps the cool air stay in the back of the van rather than escaping through the front area!
5. i make sure they ALWAYS have a gallon of cold water available in their water bowl. 6. i keep my ramp down for them that way they can roam the entire van - if the bed area with blankets is hot for them they can move onto the nice cool wood floors but to be honest they usually like staying on the bed! 7. something i HIGHLY suggest investing in is a pet temperature monitor! it tells you the temperature in the van at all times and you can monitor it constantly plus it will alert you if it becomes too hot! so far these are the things i have found most helpful!

@@chriss3314 of course anytime!! i’m learning so much from this experience that i want to be able to share and hopefully help anyone that i can to notmake the same mistakes i have! and yes! i actually have a few awesome hacks that have worked well for me - i used to have a high power ninja blender. i needed up swapping for a blendjet 2 which is a rechargeable blended but it works SOOOO much better than i had anticipated! i just couldn’t fit my big blender in the van. i also have a mini juicer i bought from amazon - that does run 120V so i have to have my inverter on but draws minimal power. then there’s my air fryer which i also downsized from my ninja because of space but this is a 2qt and works great!! draws about 800W during use but still some draw 3k watts so i don’t think it’s so bad!
