    Yeah I ended up keeping the 26, bc it being bigger, it'll keep ice for probably 2 days longer.. But one thing I do not like about the 26, as with the milk jug in the video, a 12 oz beer bottle will not stand up, and allow the lid to close. With the 20 it closes no problem. Hope this helps.

    I had the same issue with my tan 20. I called the customer service number and they told me to try to push the lid further back. Something about when they installed it they may have tightened the hinge too much. They said if that didn’t work that for me to submit for a claim. Then they would send me a return slip to ship back cooler. When you say “the guy I talked to shipped me another cooler” . Did you reach out to their customer service ? Or was that convo after you submitted claim online?
    On a separate note, I did an ice retention test. No pre chill of the cooler, 20lbs of ice , one ice pack on top and had two cans on top of the ice. I would rotate the cans (bottom to top then mid day top to bottom) and I did that three times a day. I would leave the truck bed cover open so it would get direct sunlight. In Texas we had about 95 deg F last week (Thursday when I started the test) . So the cooler saw 12 hours of sunlight. Then I’d take the cooler inside for the evenings. All in all I got about 4 days until there was no ice left. Not bad and the water felt very cold as is. I’m sure if I would of pre chilled I could of gotten 5 days. Sorry to jack the comment thread. Just trying to spread the word I guess.

    Thanks for posting this, I've been trying to decide between these two sizes. The 26 isn't that much more in price but I don't know that I'll need that much cooler. I'll be using it for camping but I'd like to fit it in a canoe still. Seems like more bang for the buck with that 26 though...

      f1sk8mm 26 is the way to go , I have been down this road before lol. The 20 is really nothing more then a one person cooler for lunch and a few drinks.

    I found a two month Orca for sale in my area for 160 but not sure after seeing the 12 oz bottles. Hmm hard to say no to a near new Orca at a good price.

    You are having issues with bottles? I have a 26 and was a little worried about that, but i was able to stand up full 12oz bottles as well as water bottles (have to put the ice around it, not under)
    I just ordered a 58, (might return it, was a little drunk and spur of the moment because it was on sale)
    Side note, I just ordered some "cooler shock" ice packs from amazon. I kept reading that people were using ice that was going fast (so use filtered, makes a huge difference) or freezing a few water bottles and leaving regular ice out all together.
    2nd thing, cosmetically mine wasn't 100% perfect. there were some little "extra" plastic that needed to be cut off (i took some pics) and the sides kinda stick up some when (the gap between the bottom and lid) but never leak so it must seal very well. I mean I love my cooler, but I would be interested in comparing. Ill take some pics of my 58 here soon and see if the quality control is about the same.

      Kyle O'Grady he probably meant a taller 12oz like Corona as opposed to heini

      Kyle O'Grady yeah, the full sized bottles, such as bud light/Miller lite. The shorter bottles will work, because it only needs like an 1” on the bigger bottles, and it would clear. Just can’t imagine why Orca would do this. Great size cooler, other than that.

      Yeah, it seems odd. I recently bought a grizzly 20 over the orca 26 for that very reason. From what I could find out, the actual capacity is close. I think the I orca holds two more quarts. But when I looked at the measurements, I realized a long neck can't stand up.

    I just purchased a 26 quart and bit does not have the 26 embossed on the front. Is this normal, I watched your video and yours is missing also?????

      Anthony Alfaro this was the first one I bought. And I had to do a warranty claim because it was leaking. And I believe my new one does have it. I'll look and make sure when I get home. It maybe the older coolers that do not have it.

      Yeah my new 26 has it on the front. Like i said, maybe its the older line of coolers that didn't have the numbers on the front.

      Great video. I just got the 20 myself. I had the Ozark trail 26 qt. I looked at the orca 26, and yes it is much bigger. You're right!

    Are those milk jugs the same height as a standard 1 gallon jug? Thanks for the video.

      Pretty much, maybe a 1/4-1/2’’ taller than a gallon jug.

    Where were the exterior dimensions taken on the cooler? As it's tapered from top to bottom.. Would you mind giving me the dimensions of the cooler at the bottom of the cooler?

      Zachary Grohs I'm guessing at the top, I got these measurements off the websites. The bottom of the 26 qt is 15"x10".

    I wonder if I added some reflectix on the inside would that extend the ice retention?

    • @jeremymann3476
      @jeremymann3476  6 лет назад +1

      Live Free or Die I mean, I guess you could. But idk how well you could make it look. Ice retention is pretty good in the 26, really the only issue I have with it, it’s I can’t stand bottles up, well not the full sized ones, like bud light/Miller lite. In the video I talk about it being too big, am glad I kept the 26.

      My use is for a off grid purpose, so every additional day saves me from having to buy ice. I don't care how it looks.

    • @jeremymann3476
      @jeremymann3476  6 лет назад +1

      I mean, yeah you could do that. You could put styrofoam around the inside walls as well. Most people don’t want to do that. If you’re looking for 5 plus days of ice, I would suggest the bigger coolers. I have a 75 qt and it keeps ice for a lot longer than the 26. Remember a lot of things affect the ice retention. Prepping the cooler, how offten its opened, direct sunlight, putting prechilled items in, and filling it to capacity will also make a big difference.. Also, you can buy Artic Ice ice packs(or any brand) off amazon. They will extend the life of the ice as well. And just rotate them out when you put new ice in.

      Tks, but I won't have access to a freezer, just store bought ice. Plus can't go any bigger then the 26 QT.
