I’ve got a 97 CCLB4x4 and I’ve done the basics (Exhaust, Intake, Hydra, Edge Monitor). Obviously I like the higher settings (+60/80hp Stock Hydra Tunes) but was wondering if I driver conservatively almost all the time is it harmful to the 7.3 at all? Am I compromising the longevity of the engine at all if I keep my foot out of it and egts’s at a safe level?
Not at all! These engines,and diesels in general, are meant to be run and have load on them. Regular maintenance is key for longevity!
Ok cool. I’ve heard different opinions. Some say any time you increase e performance there is a compromise is longevity. If you ever make it to California I’d love to do a walk around on my truck if you’re interested.
Is it worth building a 7.3 with the zf5 just feel like I’d get smoked by autos, also don’t wanna shift like I’m driving a Honda and ruin my trans as it’s not a race car but I don’t wanna be slow from the line neither
