- There's been a lot of confusion around Anthem's combat system, and rightfully so. The demo weekends had some gear related bugs with the wording of stats on actual gear pieces.
There have been so many questions floating about what each stat and element does in terms of combat, there was a lot of speculation and not a lot of official answers.
After finding the official information and researching exactly each elemental effect, I put together this short but informative guide, so you can know all things elements, strengths, weaknesses, status effects and combo status bonuses for each Javelin and their abilities and what type of defences are strong or weak to each.

Are you guys looking for an end game guild for the March update? If so, are you looking for casual or hardcore.. or maybe something in between?
In between.. around an hour daily and more on weekends.
@@feeq75 Good to know.. I'll see how this post goes and maybe create a video or Reddit or something so we can all put our gamertags etc and find appropriate players to join forces with on the same platforms.
I will probably start at launch (~5PM PST Thursday when I get off work) and not stop till I have to go to work on Tuesday morning, baring a few moments of unconsciousness, going to the front door to get the delivery food, and changing out the catheter bag... (j/k). Not sure if I will hit 30 by then, but we'll see.
when you say armor you mean the enemies main health bar?
tnyeh, well the easiest way to put it is if the bar is red, it’s just HP. If it’s got 2 bars, then the blue bar is a shield. If the bar is yellow it’s armor, or I guess you call it “armored HP”
You might know this, but what about stacking effects and combos? I have seen a vid where a mob has a ice effects, was later hit with a lightning effect, and when the ice effect went away you could see the electrical effect still going. This seem to imply they can stack on each other, or maybe it's just one at a time. If they can stack, then can you spread multiple effects from one mob to everyone else with a Storm detonation? If a mob has multiple on-going effects, do they all get detonated at once?
plusbrian I’ve considered this and I’m not 100% certain how viable this is, I’ve considered even running double primer and melee detonator builds to see what happens. I’ll do more testing when we go live
@@ChinoGaming I was thinking more group play. If everyone adds their own primer at the same time, do they all stack. If that target is then hit with Storm detonator, do all concurrent effects combo? Would they all spread to other targets, etc.
@@plusbrian1598 Good question. I guess time will tell.
Finally somebody highlights how unique the Ranger is with its Melee ability, just *Subbed* keep up the great Anthem content.
Thanks man! I was wondering why nobody was talking about it, so I thought to bring it up.
Ice can't any damage on shields enemies. Only lighting could damage on shields enemies
Ice does damage shields, it's literally written all over combat explanations and it's in a lot of my footage playing as an Interceptor. It doesn't freeze enemies with shields though, but I believe that's the same with all status effects.
I know you didn't create the infographic, but thanks all the same for using it allowing me to find it. It really helps to see them all together instead of switching back and forth between tabs in game.
plusbrian no probs, it’s a handy table to keep around.
Truly appreciate d time u take to thoroughly explain each element. Kudos.. Keep em coming.
Thanks man, appreciate it.
One quick question. Does interceptor normal melee triggers combo on primed target? Or do we need to do the aerial dive melee? Tq mate.
All javelins melee strike is a detonator except the ranger`s which is a primer. I think there is a time limit how you can detonate combos on primed enemies. Or some other mechanic which prevents the interceptor`s quick melee to detonate combos on the same enemy all the time.
Actually, on all but the Ranger, any melee hit is a detonator... so as long as they're primed you just have to hit them with melee.. doesn't have to be air born.. I'm just all about aerial combat and the damage is decent.
@ Didn't see your response. Thanks and very accurate! Can only detonate once per prime per detonator. But can detonate one prime with 2 different detonators. I create a build out of this with the storm, my last vid.
@@ChinoGaming I see, thanks!
Thanks guys for d swift response. Understand d whole combo thingy clearer now. Looking forward to make all this knowledge to good use on d 22nd... yezzaa 👍🏼
its not yellow its green
If you're talking about enemy Armor, in the demo that was yellow and was there instead of HP just like a stronger version of HP. I have footage of this in this video.
If you're talking about our own bars (blue and green) one is shield and the other is health. Even though the health bar is green, that's just indicative of it's status. It goes red when it's low. It also announces "low health" proving it's health.
I haven't come across a single other green bar in the demo, and I recorded more than 40 hours of footage.
@@ChinoGaming i thought you were talking about our javelins bars. maybe i was mistaken ? didnt realise you meant enemy hp / armour bars
@@TheMajorRuin That makes a lot more sense. No I kinda say "on your enemies there are 3 kinds of bars you need to worry about while you're taking them down...." All good man.
