- Here we can see grimlock was supposed to have a real darker tone and more aggression. Do you prefer this version or the in game version?

Okay but why was this better than how the actual level started?
I know right, plus we got more options of combat and new animations, we could repeatedly stab, ground slam and have a better level design
That entrance truly showed how terrifying it would be to be a con in Shockwave's lab. It felt scarier than what we got tbh imo this Alpha cutscene is better than the transition we actually got - and what was incredible.
Also why is kickback so big lmao I would have loved to have seen a massive insect queen and kill it.
You could compare cons in Shockwave's lab to D-class personal in the SCP foundation.
ngl i love Grimlock for how he is now but i have to admit, here he sounds more badass for a brute
I think this version of FoC Grimlock's voice nails it.
He sounds so fuckass mad he can barely put together coherent sentences and is just going off of basic instinct and bloodlust.
@@concept5631 true, but I understand the change. You can’t really have grimlock ordering around the other dinobots and arguing with prime if that’s how he talks and acts. Honestly I’m glad they toned it down.

I agree. Also still hoping for a Dinobots spinoff film.
@@sadchild9478Agreed. And, they were still able to balance it out by giving grimlock rage induced dialogues in battle while also having an intellectual mind of his own.
Considering Shockwave’s statement about how Grimlock wasn’t even supposed to retain speech itself, it just goes to display Grimlock’s intelligence at its finest with how he’s able to argue with Prime later on.

Man, I really wish they kept in Grimlock’s grab & slam, that looks so satisfying to use!
This definitely feels more like either DLC or a direct continuation to WFC than what FOC is. Barring the reuse of some assets and controls, the whole tone and flow does feel more it belonged to WFC's darker tone than what FOC did. In FOC he was confused, in this Grimlock sounds like he is the physical embodiment of 'Pissed Beyond Belief'
You would be surprised how much change a game goes through from it's early builds :)
You are up your own ass. This is near identical to what we got in the final game, tone wise.
It's more than just pissed beyond belief, there a strong bloodlust to this version of Grimlock the way he roars
@@diggityslice9023not really. The ambients is far more intense and the lighting of the first area has that very particular feel from WFC, also no need to be so rude.

I'd loved this to be revisited like a bonus level or in a remastered Fall Of Cybertron game. I also like how it's how darker and Grim our boy Grimlock sounds
I love how a slightly more gravelly voice makes everyone think this is "darker"

I find it interesting how they got the animations, models, etc finished before the gameplay. I believe it's usually the other way around in game development, where the gameplay is refined first.
Also, the outside environment looks much better in the final game. I love the insecticon structures and lighting. It's a shame we never got to see it.

This is badass, really wish this was in the game, especially since Grimlock is my favorite character of all time.
Holy shit this would've made a great introduction for Grimlock!!
Put the player through the perspective of a Decepticon soldier hearing other terrified soldiers through radio contact, seeing obliterated corpses as you get closer to the target, and finally see the towering beast that the player gets to switch to.
Amazing idea, sucks ass that it never got put in with the final release...
Man, grimlock's brutality is like something from the game god of war. And something that Kratos himself will be very proud of. And Kratos himself could easily tell grimlock could be a warrior of Sparta.

Imagine if the Starscream level had more of Starscream. You go through the tower and sneak by so more decepticon guard and then you find Grimlocks holding cell, except this time, you free him just to make megatron loss more soldiers. Then the first part of this video (with the new FOC textures) is where grimlock smash begins. I honestly would like that more as Grimlock takes over half of the mission called “Starscream’s revenge” personally.
Damn, I really hope a playable version of this gets leaked one day so we can properly see what Highmoon had planned. The ideas they had for this game real shame they were never realised, but thank god the game was as good as it was.

I was around 5-6 years old when I first got this game. The fact I have never seen this is actually so crazy to me. I’m 16 now :)
Though a lot of these changes I understand why they changed. I never got to play WFC(trying to find a repack somewhere around) and for me this game plays even more like rise of the dark moon, atleast UI wise. I’m glad our grimlock is a lot different. If I wanted the hulk, I’d play a hulk game

For a second I thought this was a new transformer foc type game coming out
This feels like watching a DLC for WFC and I wished they did this. Not only adding DLC characters for multiplayer but a side story where we play as large bots like Grimlock or Bruticus as an expansion to the story.
This prototype build is better has more content with the most games today.

Probably as a base point when developing the game and updating them as time passed.
It was very early in development. A lot of wfc assets were reused as FoC assets weren’t made as well as the point made above

@@thesenate9564 Everyone wants to have a change from Previous games. So they try to add more and redesign the enemies to make everything look more fresh and refined in the designs than in the previous. Also to some degree, the team can feel like they're adding their own art and story to the universe they're adding rather than using others' work.

Naw, the team was cut in half and under time pressure. Half of highmoon was also supposedly working on the DOTM game.
I think because everyone loves Dinosaurs, Hasbro made them good guys. While, everyone has a hatred towards bugs. So the insects are cons.

Also are there no dinocons? Like shockwave experiments probed to actually significatly improve the subject combat capabilities, why not extend this to actual decepticons instead of just like... giving the enemy a masive killing machine?
Shockwave only experimented on autobot prisoners of war. He didn’t intend for grimlock to actually escape.
But how grim lock and these bugs weren’t in the first transformers that I played what level is this
