Here's a back carry removing tip: Untie top straps, sitting on a couch. Let toddler "flop" slowly back. Very simple and easy. My year old is removed that way too. She loves it and it's super simple. No risks of dropping!
To omfug. Same reason you might put a toddler who can walk in a pushchair. Most children aren't made to walk all the time as soon as they take their first steps :)
